  1. 24 hours old US Citizen

Got my interview and same day oath (only perk of NJ).

Arrived 20 minutes early and interview started 20 mins late, IO V. RODRIGUEZ was very professional.

Right hand up and oath that all what I'll say is the truth

    1. Personal data verification.
    2. Name changes if any (denied).
    3. supposed to be updating the application but system was acting up, so she so professionally skipped to the next step.
    4. Civics (not in order)
      1. What is freedom of religion.
      2. What is the age for males to sign for selective service.
      3. Who is the chief of the Military.
      4. Name a part of the government.
      5. During the cold war what was the main concern,
      6. When do we celebrate independence day.
    5. Read: Who is George Washington?
    6. Write on the tablet ahead: Washington was the first president.
    7. Generic No/Yes questions
    8. Back to update the application, corrected the destination of my travels after the application that they got wrong.
    9. Asked for my spouse's original birth certificate (3 yrs rule).
    10. Check and sign how my details would look like on the naturalization certificate.
    11. Recommended for approval.

Time: ~20-30 mins mainly because system being slow.

Back to waiting area, with pre-oath documents that I checked boxes saying nothing has changed since my interview, signed and dated.

Got an message from USCIS, status changed, checked and it said, oath ceremony has been scheduled and we mailed you the notice.

Got called to a window where I gave them the pre-oath document, signed a copy and the original naturalization certificate after verifying sure information is correct and gave me a flag and an envelope with passport application and oath copy.

Back to waiting area where I relentlessly chased my son around and everyone saying he is cute and how come he is white and I'm brown-ish and me smiling socially while my wife sat in the back literally having contractions for our baby#2 (real story) that was delivered 7hrs later.

Got called to the oath room families sat in the back 99% citizens up front, watched a video, national anthem, oath, watched Mr. Trump welcoming the now 100% citizens cause we swore the oath, got original certificate, darted to the hospital.

    Whole thing took ~4 hrs.

Applied for passport 3 hours ago, so I can come back to my country if I had to leave for any reason.

Mail man, stapled through the $555 certificate so carelessly.

When it comes back I'll then update SS, DMV(MVA) records and register to vote.

    N400 filing date -aug 15 2018

    field office-Newark

Guys any idea when to  expect   Interview ?

I have been tracking cases at Newark from efile till interview date, average wait time currently is 246 days. Longest is 252 days shortest is 240 days.

For your case, I'd say the latest would be around 4/25/2019, and the earliest would be around 4/12/2019.

As @visaquestions2018 said, mid April is a very good bet.

My husband got his n400 appointment letter, but there was no mention of a joint interview for the 1-751. Dare we assume that they meant to include it? I'm planning to attend with him and bring our massive stack of matrimonial paperwork just in case, figuring the worst thing they could do is not look at it.

Is he likely to get a second appointment for the I-751 interview?

    Two scenarios:

1- They interview him (both of you if that matter) for N400 and i751 and approve him for both, so yes PLEASE take all the documents with you.

2- They only interview him for the N400, approve him (e-notification will say a decision couldn't be made due to pending i751) and postpone his oath ceremony till after the approval of his i751. I've read over VJ that this usually happens within 30 days after his N400 is approved.

Your husband should definitely ask to get joint interviews once he is with the IO, specially that you're gonna be there.

Which decision will they take depends mainly on the field office and its capability of approving a mail in form (i751) on the spot.

You can get a better idea if you find a similar case at the same field office and see how it was handled.

Were you stopped by an officer when you got you fix-it ticket? If so, you have to declare the incident. I think if it was just posted on your vehicle when parked and you were not stopped by an officer, that doesn't count. I think. No minor traffic incidents have to be declared on green card applications, which makes this a little confusing.

A traffic violation would technically be an offense that you weren't arrested for. It does not specify what severity (misdemeanor, felony, etc), so I just included it. According to other threads, it's for the USCIS to see who are honest about their past transgressions and how severe they were.

Below text is copied from Instructions for Form N-400 (PDF, 260 KB)
NOTE: You must submit documentation of traffic incidents if:

    (1) The incident involved alcohol or drugs;

    (2) The incident led to an arrest; or

    (3) The incident seriously injured another person.

You do not need to submit documentation for traffic fines or incidents that did not involve an arrest or did not

involve drugs or alcohol, if the only penalty was a fine of less than $500 or points on your driving record.

    10. Question: What documentation is USCIS looking for on N-400 applications for clients who have traffic citations only (no arrests), such as speeding tickets? This is in reference to the Good Moral Character section, question 16, which asks if you have ever been arrested, cited, etc. Also, what is expected at the N-400 interview regarding these traffic tickets?

Response: Typically if an individual only has minor traffic citations with no arrests resulting (i.e. speeding tickets), they will not be required to submit any additional information with the N-400. However, if, during the course of the interview, an adjudications officer determines that there are circumstances that warrant further investigation, (e.g. there is an indication that the applicant has failed to pay fines associated with the citations), the officer may request additional documentation. (e.g. payment, certified police/court documents indicating such).

I will get a copy of my driving record and add it to my online documents just in case, just wanted to share what I found.

Thanks so much, guys! Cannot believe I misread that. I remember we did not have to include traffic incidents on the I-485 and I guess I was still on auto pilot from that more than 3 years ago!

I will do my best to ask for records from the court even though I know I don't have to. It was just traffic school and a fine. If I cannot get the records, I guess I will just have to settle for an approximate date when asked at the interview.

I am wondering if uploading a statement now as an additional file might be helpful.

They probably do, you just have to remember where you got your ticket. You can request that they send you the disposition and a receipt to prove you have paid your fine. Mine was a fine of only $90, but I still managed to get a disposition (certified, too!) and a copy of my receipt. They might be a little huffy about it considering how long ago it was, but I'm sure they are more than able.

    Good luck!

Why do you need traffic incidents? what are you applying for? N400? I didn't include my "broken light" ticket and I can't remember seeing a question about traffic incidents. Am I missing something?

I received a notification this morning saying that an action was taken on my case. When I logged in, I saw that status changed to: "We reviewed your biometrics. You do not need to do anything at this time"

Also, estimated case completion time changed from July 2019 to May 2019.

You just sped up your process 😃 that officer was wrong.
It seems (from all the threads I've been reading) that the message you got means you're in line for interview.
    Wishing you all the best.

Just completed my "early walk-in" biometrics at Salinas, CA ASC. Was in n out in like 15 minutes. There was literally no one there besides me. Very nice and friendly personnel. Only a photo and 4 fingers of my right hand were taken. I asked if this early walk-in will speed up my interview date and the answer was no. Well, we shall see.

Did your online status update to biometrics received or does it still say biometrics scheduled? If it updated (hopefully) when did it?
