Got our NVC# this morning - our NOA2 date was August 28th.
The person on the phone said they should be sending it out in the next couple of days, so hopefully that's everyone here and we can all go off together!
My NOA2 was 8/10 and NVC case assigned 8/28. Every time I check with the NVC, they all tell me that there is no set processing time, no scheduled send time, and that you can't compare anyone's timelines as they are all different. Very frustrating because we have been very proactive and have had everything together for the interview for quite some time. I'm worried that we need to reschedule the interview time and our flights. The government is quite ridiculous in how inefficient they are. What's the point of answering phones if you can't answer anything?

You don't have to wait for your file to be delivered to USEM to start processing. You can pay your interview fee, schedule your interview, complete your medical, get CFO out of the way and complete the DS-160. Don't wait. See the information that I gave to someone else who is processing their visa through the Philippines.
The CFO was something I was unaware of before. My fiancee told me that she needed to do that after she got her passport / visa back after the interview. Is it something that she can do before? Everything else is done. Just a little concerned that the NVC doesn't get to the Embassy before the scheduled interview, which is 9/25.

Really? Congrats.
Our Noa 2 is Aug 16/ Case Number is Sep 7, but still at NVC :-(.

NOA 2 - 8/10
NVC Case Number 8/28
Still at NVC, but we scheduled interview for 9/25 thinking that NVC would send within 2 weeks. Fees are paid, medical is scheduled, DS-160 filed. What time is needed for Embassy to receive from NVC before the interview?

If you read my comment and understand that when I said we've been PROACTIVE and have done EVERYTHING that means that I've read all the blogs, made the phone calls, made all the appointments, paid all the fees, completed all the forms, secured all the documents, made all the copies, got all the reports... Get the picture?
My post is only addressing the point that the NVC had my application a week before the last "batch" was sent. Furthermore, I call every couple of days as suggested on here and every person I've spoken to can't confirm the use of a "batch" system and offers no useful information as to the progress.
I think I'm the epitome of being proactive and owning the process. That doesn't change the fact that government is being inefficient. According to their own statement, they minimally process at the NVC. There's no reason why they shouldn't be able to actually provide a meaningful update besides basically saying "yeah, I got no clue, don't call us, we'll send you an email, which will probably be late anyway."
By the way, I got my hard copy NOA2 on the mail 2 weeks after it was approved. I didn't get the email that it was approved until 2 weeks after that. It didn't update on the USCIS website until then either. Does that sound efficient? What was the point in the G-1145 form?
Thanks for all the info, but your reply was a little condescending to what was essentially a valid vent to a frustrating system.
