  1. Hi everyone,

I have searched by could not locate any others (suprisingly) with this issue?  So, my fiancee' was finally able to schedule her interview for her K1 Visa.  She has a date set for August 28th of this year (in the Moscow office).  The problem however, is that on the NOA2 Document, it listed her approval period for only 4 months, valid from, "4/18/19 - 8/18/19"!  So, her visa interview is scheduled to take place 10 days past her approval period.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?  Does anybody know if there is any way to get a brief extension to the approval period?

Thanks as always for any information that you can provide.  We are getting close, but we are under a great deal of stress, to make sure that we do everything right, these last few steps...

    Take care,

    Greg

  2. Hello everyone,

The "Consular Section" at the U.S. Embassy Moscow has my fiancée's last name mis-spelled (1 letter is missing).  Will this cause any issues, when she goes to pay the fee and we attempt to schedule her interview?  I am guessing that this person just made a simple "typo", but I want to see if anyone else has experienced a similar issue (and, of course to know if this could cause any problems and/or delays)?

    Thanks,

    Greg

  3. Darn, the court is back in California (my ex-wife filed).  The judges "signature" is just a stamp with his name printed, but I believe that is fine.  I made copies that look very close to the original.  As it would be quite a hassle to get certified copies from Modesto, CA, is there any way that I could just send the originals that I received?  I know they say not to send them, but since it would be quite a hassle (if even possible, as I didn't file myself) to get certified copies, I am ok with having a copy on file for myself.  That way, the inspector(s) could be SURE that they are not falsified in any way.  Is that possible (sending the originals that I have), or will they automatically refuse to accept them, for some reason??

Thanks again for all of the assistance from you folks...

  4. Hi everyone,

OK, we are finally very close to being able to send in my fiance'e's K-1 Submission.  I have a question, regarding my divorce paperwork.

I thought I read somewhere that the copy had to be certified, or notarized, something like that?  I now can't seem to find this information?  I made copies at home, and they came out really well.  Do I need to go somewhere and have certified copies made (maybe at my bank??)?  I just want to be as sure as I can that this petition will go through as smoothly and quickly as possible.

If someone with experience on this could please chime in, it would be greatly appreciated.  Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to you all. :)

  5. Hello everyone,

With my 2nd trip to visit my (now) fiancée in Moscow rapidly approaching, we are considering the pros & cons of the K-1 and CR-1 Processes.  We want to be together as soon as possible here in America (Olive Branch, MS to be exact).  But, I also know that the CR-1 makes a lot of sense, as she would receive her AOS (Green Card), upon arrival.  This way, we wouldn't have to apply for it, after her arrival here.  Yet another (the major, for me at least) benefit would be for her family and friends to attend a small ceremony there, as well...

So, my real question I guess would be, what is the CURRENT expected timeline (assuming we file in mid-January of 2019, when I return from my 2 1/2 week vacation with her)?  I know the current K-1 Timeline is around 10 months.  Would the CR-1 be expected to take > 1-year??

    Thanks,

    Greg

  6. Hi everyone,

I have a problem with several fields on the I-129F form. :(  Although most of the fields in the pdf form allowed me to type-in the information, several for whatever reason, would not let me "select" the fields!?  I went ahead & printed all 13 pages out, but for instance, Steps 38.a - 39 are blank, as I was unable to type-in any information into these fields.   Is it alright for me to write-in (black pen, of course) the information for these fields?  Essentially, this will mean that all of the other information on this page has already been printed-out, but some fields will be hand-written.  I know the embassies can be very picky, I just want to know if this will create any problems?  If so, what did y'all do for this problem?

Also, from what I can gather, I enter nothing at all (other than, "N/A") on pages 11 and 12, since I completed the form myself.  Is that correct?

Thanks again everyone, I really appreciate all of the assistance that I received on my other question.  I am really hoping to finally get this process going in about a week?

  7. Hi, everyone.  I love all of the information on this site, and really appreciate the fact that it exists!

I am confused as to what is required for my K1 Submission Packet?  I know that I need to provide the I-129F Form, as well as supporting documents (Explanation of my divorce, including copy of the decree, pictures of my fiancée and I together, intent to marry, etc.).  My question is, are there any OTHER forms that are required?  I know about the DS-230 Form, I-134 and G-325.  Should we complete any of these to be included in the K1 Package that I will be sending off to Texas?

Also, for my divorce, may I make a copy of just the first page (that shows the effective date of the divorce), or do I have to copy ALL of the pages?

Thanks in advance for any information you good folks can provide to me.  I just want to try to do whatever I can, to ensure that my fiancée can receive her K1 Visa as soon as possible, hopefully with no RFE's..

    Thanks again,

    Greg Dodd
