  2. As of 5:16 AM.

Hometown newspaper The Star-Tribune reported that nine people had been confirmed dead, 60 had been taken to hospitals and at least 20 remained missing early Thursday. The Associated Press put the number dead at seven so far.

Authorities said the death toll was expected to climb.

Asked about the possibility of finding more survivors, Fire Chief Jim Clack said, “The likelihood is fairly slim.”

and my sister lives there. no word yet from her :(

  3. I would like one very much if you please. Some of you know, my S/O is still in the UK going through some medical treatments. Well, I have my plane tickets and am going to be able to be with her during the operation. I would like one of these "Tags" to give to her in person. I am only able to get two months off, but it will help both her and myself to remember that the love we have for each other is still there, and always will be.

but could we all keep this a secret please. Just hope she doesn't come in this post, he he

I am a Cheesehead and soon so shall she I hope. i have dedicated my life to her now, and even wrote and dedicated a poem to her and the VJ crowd. I hope you like, let me know.

Good luck and hope to meet more nice people here...your all the greatest. Thanks.

Well HOWDY follow "CHEESEHEAD". Our "handle" is Randy + Maggie, I'm from LaCrosse Wisconsin, west side of the state. Right on the muddy Mississippi. And Maggie, my S/O is from England. Welcome and any questions just ask ,,,ermm,,,ermmmm someone on here knows. It's a fantastic site, got Maggie and I through some very difficult times. And I'm sure it will still get us through. Again, welcome Randy and Rose. :)

  5. hey everyone! my SO was in the Us from the age 12 to 20. In his packet 3 it says he needs a police check or whatever from every "foreign country" hes lived in since he was 16. Sooo, does the packet consider the US a foreign country??? and if it does, how is he suposed to get it? Hes not here and they will not give me anything. I'm stressing out over this snag up. its all we're trying to figure out. don't they do a background check anyway(i might be wrong)?

    PLEASE help!!!!

When I needed a "police check" I had to go to the local city hall and ask for certified copy's,of ALL police contact. took me about 2 weeks for the first ones, then needed another set for our appeal. that set only took a day or two. And I would think, i really don't know, but would think that since he's not in the us he just might need them. all he needs to do is send you his SS# and a letter signed by him stating that he wishes to have certified copy's of all police contact. This whole process sucks. But it is worth it. I think it's best to not leave anything to chance when it comes to being with your soul mate. Good luck with your trip!!!!and from what i found out is that yes they do do a background check. Because the ECO from Chicago asked me "well, what about what happened back in 1977" omg, 1977 !!! FFS, i couldn't believe they go back that far.

  6. OH,,,MAN.... where were you about 4 months ago.

Just kidding, I mean this site has helped us a LOT. I think that having these right up front instead of having to hunt for them will help a lot of people out on this rocky road to happiness. THANK YOU sheriff, (and if you have any idea of the times I have had, you know I haven't said THAT much)

    :star::star::star:

thats three stars by the way!!!!

  7.:dance: YES,YES,YES, My S/O, "Mustang-Sally" has just received her packet 3 in the post. I hope she goes! ;)(F)(F) oh, and we are just about ready to send in my request for a "Visitors Visa" for a stay of two months to help my loved one get through her operation. Wish us luck and please keep praying for her healthy recovery. And as hard as it is, we are doing things within the law so as not to have any repercussions from any overstay. If I could, I would of gone there and stayed two years ago :o:whistle:
  8. Hi!!, welcome to the club. I just want to say, slow down. It will seem like forever to see any action but the end will be worth it. You are just going to have to grin and bare it. If you look at some of the storys on here, you will see there are a few that wait a very long time. It's hard, very hard, I know, but it WILL be worth it. Just "hang in there"

    Randy

  9. My current pic does not have a higab :P But be sure that if I do have one with a higab it's not fancy :D

See, that made me wanna look at yer prof

But I'm invis, so I don't show up as having been there B)

    ####### is a higab ??

I look to see if there any more from my state, (now I'll get some of you to look at mine, hehe)

  10. Best wishes that Maggie makes a full recovery, that the operation goes smoothly, and that you are able to be by her side for it. I'm sure your support will help her get through this. (F) Someday you will be married; hang in there and stick around VJ.

Why was the previous K1 denied?

Thanks Alex + R thanks for your kind words other then "welcome" I'm not really sure how to work this thing yet, please excuse. My fiance visa was denied to go to England under the grounds that I was in some trouble in the past with the law. All minor things. And while I was under the drink. I have changed and been clean and sober over five years now. And if this don't make a guy want to drink,,,heck, i don't know what would. But I have been homeless, and am not going that route again. I have "me Maggie" and am not going to lose her. And yes, we will be married. But why does it have to be so damn hard to get to your soul mate?

  11. well, HI! My name is Randy. my S/O's is Maggie. I'm in Wisconsin, and she is in England. We met in a chat-room not looking for anybody, but just "found" each other in 2005. I went there for two weeks, and loved it. She is the one. She came here for two weeks and loved it. I did try for a fiancé's visa but that was denied. We had started the appeal but stopped that after Maggie came here to the states. We have sent in the K-1 in February of this year 2007. one month after that was in the mail she found out she has breast cancer. I am praying that I will get to go for two months to help her when she has her operation. I am a restaurant manager. She has her own dog grooming shop in England. I could go on and on but you will read more when we post, I'm sure. This site has a LOT of helpful suggestions and ideas. We both look at it every day. I just want to say thanks for the information that comes from here. Like I have said, "I think we ALL could write a book", I think Maggie's and mine would be under "Horror". But we will still fight until the day we are man and wife.

    "Never, Never,,,,Never give up"

  12. what kind of visa you come here on CR1? well sounds like you came on CR1 since your talking removal of conditions. here is the thing. you can stay here 2 years. yeah yeah.

and you can remove the conditions on your own. yeah yeah. if you have proof to show you had a valid marriage entered in good faith i see no problem. but, that dont mean you cant be deported. My ex husband was deported he was here on CR1.:lol:

The problem I see with your post is basicly your all talking about saving your azz. but, your not saying how you want to save your marriage or make it work!! if you been abused where is the documentation? your gonna need it at your hearing.

Why in Hell would he want to save his marriage if he was being abused, what an idiotic remark. And you would be saving your azz to if you were in his situation. If you would of takin the time to read his first post instead of gloating over the victory of having your husband deported, then you would of known the situation. I wonder...... did you have your husband deported because he truly did something wrong or was it because you guys were not getting along. I am going to assume it is #2, NO doubt it was your attitude and way of thinking that caused it. WJR
