  4. FYI, Just got a notification that our I-485 has been approved. My packet has been sent to San Bernardino field office. From the notice: "Your Case Status: Decision "On November 27, 2022, we approved your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS, Receipt Number IOE09175xxxxx, and sent you an approval notice. Please follow the instructions in your notice. If you do not receive your approval notice by December 27, 2022, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address." Things are moving along nicely!
  5. Got RFE'd, USCIS wants proof that I am a US Citizen. Unbelievable! I guess I didn't include this in the packet. Said I can upload document (Passport Biographic page, BC, etc.) on USCIS site. Completed this today! Onward...
  6. Just changed it to "Bio date" for 10/4. My Bio is being done in Riverside, but I don't see it listed. I put SB a while ago as it was the closest. Just found out about the Riverside office.
  7. Update: Biometrics appointment notice for 485. 765 received; appt. Oct 4, 2022!
  8. Update: I have IOE numbers, just in case anyone was wondering, and check cashed today!
  9. I'm in! NOA for all 3 today. (I-485, I-765, I-131.) Consecutive NOA numbers as well.
  10. NOA for all 3 today. (I-485, I-765, I-131. Consecutive NOA numbers as well. Will be continued in September filers now Thanks VJ!
  11. UPDATE: FedEx was able to intercept the package, even though it had been signed and delivered to USCIS Phoenix. Apparently it wasn't picked yet and FedEx was able retrieve it. Got a call today from FedEx saying they had it in their hand, and would I like to go ahead and send to Chicago! $14.00 later it is now on its way to the correct lockbox! I would like to thank powerpuff for your prompt reply to my post, this helped make it work!!! I will update when I get my NOA and check cashed to help others! Thanks VJ !!!
  12. Just sent packet today , I Just called FEDEX, changed delivery address, they said they will send to new address! Hopefully this will work! I'll keep ya updated!
  13. Duly noted! I think I'm going in as the "Preparer" and checking those boxes. I will also wait to send it in until I can fill out the SS #. We've only been back in country for 7 weeks, after my summer break, and doing fine as far as time is concerned. BTW, I just told her she has around 8 months to get fluent, We'll do fine! Just wanted expert advice and thank you all!!! Sincerely, Mackay Scanland
  14. Got it! Thank you for all your replies. I feel much more comfortable now! We got through the County Clerk & SS with just a few kicks on the ankle, I'm sure now we'll get through the Green card process w/o an attorney or translator. So, final thought, I'll check the box in Part 10 #2 "at my request the preparer named in Part 12", fill out Part 12 and then check box 7a. Is this correct?
  15. Okay, I'll do the I765 and 131. Yes, I should have noted the 864. I'm a public school teacher here in So. Cal., so not an issue with this part I'm very comfortable with signing as the translator, unfortunately my Thai friends live 300 miles away :(. I just can't in good faith have her sign (check the box) on the document saying she understands English completely. Mind you, she does understand some English.
  16. This is good news! We were successful in getting the Marriage License (and subsequent marriage with certificate in hand), as well as successfully applied for a social security card, which will be here soon! All other documents, i.e. Birth Certificate, have already been translated :). I think my biggest concern was the interview for biometrics and green card approval.
  17. This is about part 10 "applicant's statement". Can I be the preparer named in part 12?? No, I don't speak Thai. My wife is Thai and her English skills aren't great. Will this be an issue? Check the box 7a? Sign 8a & 8B? I can translate this on Google. Just found out my Attorney wants $1500.00 to do the preparation for the I-485!...and they're in Thailand! Do I need professional interpreter? Not doing the I765 or I-131, just the Green Card. Basically, can I be the preparer with Google translate? Alternate thought, I have a Thai friend here in California that can read this form for her, will that person have to come to the interview?? Thoughts? Thanks in advance!!! Mac
