  1. I just got off the phone with USCIS and they informed me that for some reason California and Vermont have been hit with an over whelming amount of visa requests. They stated to me that they are backed up and running roughly 45 days behind per app.

Just wanted to let everyone know.

    Regards,

    -B

I don't really think this should effect us though right? Aren't they supposedly departmentalized so there's a dedicated k1/k3 department?

  2. Does anybody know on what basis do USCIS process the applications? What I believe is in the order they recieve them. please donot take any offense for people who are getting touches (Congrats to you all), but people who filed after me are getting touches, but not me. I am just getting worried.

They are supposedly in semi-order, meaning every uscis officer get's a box of applications with close dates, but factor in multiple officers each picking up a box and some being faster than others in approving and you get that we are all in approximate order by plus or minus 1~2 weeks. This was from a post on here a while ago by a former uscis officer. Link below.

  3. Thanks for the replies.

Does this mean that I'll start counting the estimated CSC approval 3-4 months from this date (April 24)???? :(

Oh my gosh, I need to be there in the US before Thanksgiving Day. :(

    island princess,

I think you should be there by Thanksgiving. The csc appears to have sped up, judging from the latest timelines people are getting approved around 70 days after the noa1 of your i129f, I'm nearing that number myself and just got touched two days in a row, fingers crossed. Try looking at the k3 simplified timelines, filter out the csc applications, and click on the down arrow next to i129f noa1, you can kind of guess where you are in line with respect to the latest approved applications. It appears that they are doing mid-february now and you are only a month after that.

Good luck to you, I'm hoping to be able to go home with my wife by July myself.

  4. island_princess,

It sounds like the previous email was telling you it was being sent to CSC. That email looks like it is telling you it has actually arrived there. Congratulations! =) Hopefully mine is not far behind!

    Hello Island Princess,

  5. Hi all

My bf is a US citizen and he would come to me in October. We plan to marry at that time and then apply K3 visa after that. But after his coming in October, it is not so easy to meet again yet. So we are afraid that the immigration might have suspect on our marriage if we do not meet each other after marrying each other. So I want to know that will it be ok to apply K3 for this situation? Or if you have any better idea for us please tell me openly. I really appreciate every idea. thank you.

As far as I can understand, it seems that most applications (I129F and I130) are almost always approved, but if denied, it will be denied at the interview. I'd have your then husband try as hard as he can to fly over and go to the interview with you. I can't see how better to prove you two are together than that. Seeing is believing, good luck. I'm currently waiting with my wife also, I can't stand to be apart from her for that long, just hope to the good lord our visa will be approved soon and we can move on and come home.
