Hello, Thank you, yes we kind of celebrated in Montreal, but the real celebration will be when my husband comes to USA.

Our experience was different than others from this consulate, due to some circumstances.

First of all we reached at the consulate around 8.30 AM, appointment was at 9.30 AM. We checked in at the reception and the lady from there gave us a sheet which had a number at top and list of documents. After that we went through security check, they kept our cell phones there but we were able to take everything else including my purse with us. They told us to take elevator to 19th floor ( they did not have any other floor options in the elevator ;) ). We took a seat in waiting are once we got to 19th floor. They were calling people to submit original documents at windows 1-4, interviews were taking place at window 7,8 -- I noticed that they were calling everybody for interview to window 8 in numerical order. Only the ones who had a red flags on their files were called to window 7. My husband was called to window 7 -- They interviewed him for about 5-7 minutes and asked him to take a seat because they need to review his file again and they will call him again. He was called again after 15-20 minutes. They asked him pretty much the same questions again and said that your visa is approved and he will get his passport back in 2 weeks-- he got his passport back on 3rd day after interview.

They asked him if he had any issues with law enforcement, any debts, if he has any property in Canada, with who he lives in Canada, what does he do in Canada, how much money he makes in a month... there were a lot more questions.

They did not see any pictures, call details, did not ask for any proofs when I went to visit him in Canada. It was a stressful morning.. we were there from around 8.30 to 11sh.

    Good luck to your interview.

Sorry for the late reply., Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I do believe you when you said it was a stressful morning. But I'm so glad it all worked out in the end. Again, thank you for sharing because now I know they could call you to the window twice to interview and it could all be ok in the end. I wouldn't be surprised if my husband gets called to the window where they interview people with red flags on their cases too. I'd rather spend a whole day at the consulate and be interviewed multiple times than having to hear them say something like - go home and we will get back to you. Your post was very helpful. Thank you!

Hello, My husband received his passport back on Thursday as well.. His passport got home prior to him returning from Montreal, since we stayed there for few days. .. I can't wait for him to come now..

Interview date August 7th, Interview date received July 6th, CC June 20th.

I saw just your post. Congratulations!!! Did you celebrate in Montreal? I remember (I think it was you) you telling me that you were gonna use your vacation time to accompany your husband to the interview. Would you mind sharing the experience? or If you have already posted it somewhere, please kindly tell me where? 🙂

You're welcome! Yeah, I was surprised they didn't ask for everything. I would suggest bringing everything anyway, just in case. I had asked if they wanted to see my husband's 2017 tax return but they said no because they could see it on their screen.... which is weird, because they can see everything else there too lol. I will say though, if any of your documents change before the interview, bring photocopies.  I renewed my Canadian PR card after I gave everything to the NVC so they asked for a photocopy of my new one.

Thank you for the advice! Safe travels to the US!

Thank you! Very exciting for you too! I had a good experience, I wrote a fairly detailed review. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you can read it here: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=272431

Let me know if you have any questions after reading it 😊

I found it. Thank you so much! 🙂

They only asked for a few documents. I thought they were gonna ask everything on the checklist posted on the embassy website.

Congrats to those of you who have already got their interview dates😊

Anyone here going for an interview at us consulate Montreal Canada?

There are about 7 or 8 Canadians on this forum including me got emails for interview date on the first week of July. CC dates for some were at the end of May and my cc date was in mid June. All the interviews are in August. I think everybody is busy preparing for the interview and that's why everybody is so quiet. Next week is the first week of the month. I hope it will be your turn to get an interview date!

I am waiting on an interview in Guatemala where the Volcano irrupted not long ago. I asked if a natural disaster or anything of that sort would affect scheduling and they said as of now no embassy is having delays due to anything of that sort. So hopefully it is true what I was told and we all get something soon from our respective countries.

Yes, I hope so too. I think it has to be a really bad disaster to affect scheduling and delay this process. Anybody, either at NVC or Embassy, who is involved in reviewing our applications would understand how anxious we are to be done with this and get on with our lives. I'm hoping you will get an interview date soon.

I saw somebody else from Canada as well whose CC date was before ours but interview date was for end of August.. I guess maybe they are scheduling by last name or something... This date is perfect for me as I am getting my new vacation time in mid august and I got some days left from precious year to use before I lose them, now I can take them to go to Montreal..  :)

It really is perfect for you!. :) I'm the petitioner. I read on another thread that spouses can accompany on that day and stay in the waiting room during the interview. I might just do that. My husband can probably use the emotional support.

I think so too... I saw some people from Brazil got interview dates yesterday and I told my husband about it he said that tomorrow will be Canada-- He thought that they are scheduling interviews in alphabet order... I did not believe him, but now I am thinking that he was right.... :) Congrats to all of us.

Wow that's very interesting. So I guess Denmark is next? :) I was a little worried because I heard on the news that there is a bad heat wave in Montreal and it would affect the interviews. I'm just being very paranoid when it comes to this whole process.

I noticed that your CC date is about a week after mine but your interview date is about 2 weeks before mine. I really am happy for you :). I'm just wondering if that's because our case is not so straight forward (there is one kink) or interview dates don't follow a pattern and I can't read too much into them.

Hi all - I've started following this thread not too long ago and this is my first post. I'm the petitioner. We got two emails on 6/13.

The first one said "This document (tax return) is not in the right-side up position. Please replace this with a scan which displays the words horizontally on the screen. "

The second one said " All required applicant documents have been received and approved"

My lawyer submitted the tax return in the right-side up position on 6/15. (My husband had an incident in the past, so we have to use a lawyer)

We haven't heard from NVC since. We are waiting for the interview date.

    Our general timeline:

    I130 sent: 7/17/2017

    I130 approved: 3/9/2018

    CC: 6/13/2018

    Interview: Waiting (Montreal, Canada)

This whole process is now making me very anxious and I find myself looking for this thread more often than before. Reading the posts on here has helped me calm down. So I'll be joining you all in this visa journey. (It's a little late in the journey but I'm glad I found company!)

    Thank you all
