  1. Well had my wifes interview on 7 April 2008, went really smooth. The band The cure was also getting visas for a US tour.

Would recommend your spouses going with you to interview as the questions were ( shall we say there were none what so ever) but i had documentation just in case. Medical was quick and painless apart from the fee, if your going to knightsbridge take the tube fom kings cross and get of at oxford circus then look for Debenens department store its behind there a little ways. And i f you going to the Embassy from kings cross get on victoria line to the central line then get off at bond street when you get out at bond street take first street left walk down half way then take a right you will see lots of trees the embassy is in there. Good luck to you all.

  2. You should get a letter from nvc or you can call nvc and they will tell you that it has been forwaded.

    Thanks everyone for your help.

LND is the London case number and the London Embassy send details of how to book the medical to the visa applicant.

How do you find out if the case has been sent to the NVC and then to London? Been looking everywhere, but can't seem to find it!

    Thanks!

  3. Yes i did file in the US, and after looking at the web site for an hour or so i found out where the infomation was.

But for some reason i thought they would send me the info instead of having go to a web site. Maybee i was just tired thanks for your info tho.

Tony. here is the web site if anyone else is looking http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html

All i got was a packet with the interview date and time and a list telling me what to bring to the interview, is does not say to send any check list back. I thaink thats becouse they have all my documents. it does have a web site that says it has information about the medical but so far i cant find anything on it.

I suddenly thought, happens at my advanced age, that you may have not had a packet3 if you filed originally in the US.

In that case I think the details for booking the medical should have been in the envelope the interview details came in. The only thing that makes me think that might not now be the way it is done is your reference to a web site. Care to post the website details so I or someone can look see if that is the case.

If your interview is not until April there is plenty of time to sort this out and book the medical. Normally appointments are available with a week.

How did you arrange your interview, presumably by sending back the checklist. If so the instructions for arranging the medical should have been in the same packet (packet3) that the checklist came in.

If they were not in that packet I would suggest you need to bite the bullet and call the premium rate helpline and get them sent out. If you have your London case number, the telephone number for the doctors office is on VJ somewhere, you could call and book a medical. There are forms to fill out before you go, again they should have been in packet3, but the doctors office has copies of those and you could fill them out there.

  5. My wife has her interview on the 7 April 2008, but we have had nothing telling us when or how to book her medical appointment.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks tony.

  6. Ok, so my wife has her interview on 7 dec. The check list we got back says to bring her birth cert but the original was already submitted to them ? has anyone had this problem before and what can i do about it as i dont think we have enough time to get a replacement.

And if anyone has the phone number to the embassy from the states that would help to. and the number to schedule a medical.

    Thanks Tonyt.

  7. Have asked a few questions on this site but no one has answered ? is there something i am doing wrong. Or is there no answer.

The question is do my stepdaughters have to give blood and get vaccinated at the london medical they are 9 and 6.

    Someone please help.

    Thanks tony.

  8. I still use my maiden name in my passport. It doesn't expire until 2009. I always keep a copy of my marriage certificate with me, when I am checking in as obviously name on GC doesn't match passport. Never had any trouble going through POE.

Also make sure the plane tickets always match the passport name.

    Hope this helps.

  9. So will this will be ok for my wifes initial POE, as we are still waiting on medical and interview.

    Thanks tonyt.

  10. Has anyones spouse gone through the POE with their passport still in there maiden name, or should this be changed.

Its just that passport still has years left before expiration.

    Thanks tonyt.

  11. Have you considered renting it for a while, till the market picks up ?

So, now that we have our interview date and our medical is tomorrow - everything should be going in the right direction.

BUT my biggest stress is trying to sell our house! I am still hopeful for a Fall wedding, but our house has been on the market for about 6 weeks and although we have had lots of viewings - we have yet to have an official offer! We dropped our first estate agent as they considered 2 viewings in 4 weeks "good". Obviously, we are not on the same page.

Is anyone else selling a house? Anyone want to buy a house in lovely South Manchester??

HI I can remember this time not so long ago when i didnt know this..NOA 1 is the letter you get from ur service center indicating that they recieved ur case..it will also have ur reciept number number and u can log on to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp and track the progress on your case...the NOA 2 is the letter that is sent w/the approval from the service center....good luck!

  14. Thanks for the advice. so to get the itin i just wait and file the w-7 at tax time?

Yep, sure does make a difference. I am assuming you are talking about your US taxes right? If you are married on December 31 of a given year, you must file as married for that year. You can file as "married filing jointly" or as "married filing separately" depending on your circumstances.

Beyond that, I don't know enough about your situation to give you solid advice. But speaking in generalities that may or may not be applicable:

If your spouse does not make lots of money, it might benefit your tax situation to file jointly. If she does make lots of money, it might be better to file separately. If she has never been a US resident for tax purposes, you can file separately and she does not have to file at all.

If you file jointly, and she does not have an SSN, you will have to get an ITIN for her by attaching a W7 to your 1040 and sending it to ITIN operations at the Austin Service Center.

How do i go about filing my taxes, with my wife and step daughters still living in England.

And does it make ant differance.

    Thanks tonyt.
