I filed in late Feb and only sent in 2005 and they hit me with an RFE requesting the 2006 returns....
-
Nothing has happened with our AOS for about a week now. I guess now the real waiting game starts. I'll be so glad when we get the EAD so my wife can at least start working.
-
I would make an Infopass appt and find out whats going on. Maybe it got lost in the mail or something, and you definitely dont want to get denied because of lost mail.
-
In my RFE they wanted copies my W2 and my cosponsor's W2 from 2006, and both of those were already in there the first time I sent the original package off. Not sure why they wanted another 2 copies.

Well, at my job we don't get paid if we have jury duty unless we take vacation time.
I thought that was illegal? Dont they have to pay you?
-
Yep, its definitely an obsession. I check mine at least twice every day now.

elgringo, many many many people who had their cases transferred to CSC have also had an RFE..
Thats good news. I have also noticed that the past few timelines on here from people who have filed in Memphis have been approved without interviews. Maybe Memphis is backed up and we wont have to have an interview! *Crosses fingers*

Thats awesome! I hope we get transferred to CSC and dont have to have an interview, but if we have to have one I hope we get it sooner rather than later also.
-
When my friends went all the woman wanted to see was photos of them together. The only paper she asked for was birth certs....
-
Wish I could get transferred to CSC. I am definitely NOT looking forward to having to go to an interview. It would be soo much easier without it. From what I've heard they are pretty useless anyways. Basically we have to drive 7 hours for a 10 minute interview just so some govt employee can look at all the ####### we've already sent in plus a few photo albums.
I really hope my case goes to CSC! hehehe... Probably wont happen tho since we got an RFE.

Lawyers are useless. They dont give a damn about you or your case, they just want your money.
You're waaaay better off if you do everything yourself, because you have a real interest in your case....

Sure, its easy to get married really quick. But just try getting a divorce in 30 minutes! Hehhee
-
(I note the rest of the post quoted above says you can file as married filing separately, which is correct, but MFS is not the same as filing as single).
You're right of course. Sorry about that.

Supposedly if you live with his mother, then she fills out an I-864A. If you dont live in the same residence as her, then she has to fill out another I-864.
-
I received an email tonight saying that they received my RFE yesterday, and that processing had resumed on my case! Also got a touch on my I-485. (Imagine that.)
-
You can file as being single even if you are married if you want to, even if you have been married for a while. You file as "married, filing separately."
-
I sent in all my paperwork in Feb and my cosponsor filled out the I-864A and I filled out the I-864. USCIS didnt say anything about it being wrong, which leads me to believe I did the correct thing......
-
RFE was delivered to MSC yesterday! Hope I'll get an email confirmation or something from USCIS soon.
-
Yes. The cosponsor fills out the I-864A. The sponsor and cosponsor both have to sign it.
Also, dont forget that the sponsor also has to fill out the I-864, even if they have no income.

If its been over 90 days since you applied for the EAD and you still dont have it you can make an INFOPASS appt and they will give you one there.
-
Suffice to say my experience with USPS has been the exact opposite. OK, stuff gets there on time, but sometimes its taken several days after the delivery for their website to even register the tracking number. I had to give up using them for Ebay because people kept accusing me of not posting stuff because the tracking numbers I gave them didn't show up.
I've noticed this too. On the packages and things I've sent/received with FedEx, they have always updated the tracking everytime something happens with the package. So it'll tell you when it arrives at the hub, when it leaves on a truck from the hub, etc etc. With USPS, it only tells you when you get there and thats it. Its not so much "tracking" as it is just delivery confirmation. It only really tells you when it arrives at the final destination, and nothing more.
-
They accept extensions too. You can have your husband file an extension for 2006 and then send that in place of the 2006 return.
-
I used FedEx, like I always do for important documents, because their tracking is accurate and frequently updated, unlike USPS. There was no problem. You have to use the LaSalle address on the front of the I-485 if you use FedEx however.
If you get an RFE there is only 1 address to send it back to, and its a PO Box. So I guess you gotta use USPS for RFEs.
Notice returned as undeliverable.

So I'm wondering, when you say you have your name in your mailbox, what exactly does that mean? Do you like fill out a little card that has your name on it and just leave it sitting inside there? Or tape it to the side on the inside? Or what?
