Has anyone here been called for an I-751 interview, specifically in Chicago? We just got a letter requesting my husband go for an interview and I come with in three weeks. I was really shocked to see it because I was under the assumption that it would get approved randomly and interviews were only for people with red flags .. but I was very thorough with paperwork and showing legitimacy of our relationship so now I'm a little worried! Any experience with this? We've already filed for citizenship so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it? Any advice is appreciated!
You should be fine don't worry too much. And the i 751 interviews are not only for applicants with red flags, or waiver applicants. Am like you had tons of proof sent yet we got called to the interview just to ask us our names and address and make a couple of jokes. But in my case i was happy with it because it was exactley 4months after we filed. Also chicago filers. I saw a couple more filers get called to interviews in chicago. I think they do many more i 751 interviews compared to any other local office. Good luck

This updated guidance is effective September 11, 2018 and applies to all applications, petitions, and requests received AFTER the effective date. so this does not apply to any applicants prior to the effectivity day.
yes indeed. At least some good news that it does not effect previously filed applications

Guess my Case Inquiry removed some sand from the cogs. Today I received an appointment letter to show up at my field office next month.
Stating I should bring: This letter; your passport; your Resident Alien card; Employment Authorization Card (If any); Submit originals and copies of new and previously requested documents; documentation indicating that the marriage upon which you were granted conditional status was entered into in "good faith", lease, rent or mortgage agreements; bank statements; income tax returns for the last two years, and family photo.
So I guess this is the interview that they had to plan since May 1st
.
It doesn't state that we have to appear both.
At least things seems to get moving again.
John
Hi john. It's very strange. The letter should tell you bring with you, first thing is your spouse, whats the point of an interview if you don't have your spouse, i had an interview and that's what the letter says. But i read one of your posts a couple of months ago that mentioned that your a waiver now, maybe am mistaken. But if that's the case then thats why they aren't asking you to bring your spouse. Anyway its very simple and dont be nervous you will be in and out in half hour. Good luck

Does anybody know where/what office they transferred our case? Is there a way we can check?
Yes i do. You need to call the 800 number, follow the instructions to check case status, and the automated system will tell you where was your case transfered 2.

Read it again. It is very obviously aimed at people who submit placeholder applications, or applications which contain very little of the evidence or facts required to support positive adjudication of the application. You'll get a straight denial if you file an I-751 with no documents, or with a shell bank account with no activity and nothing else, and no explanatory note. if you send a complete application, but with (say) incomplete tax transcripts, no executed lease, or documents not covering the entire time you've been in the U.S. before filing it, then you'll get an RFE. It's not hard to grasp.
Those who file with no supprting documents and no evidence get their files sent back. This policy is not directed against them.

I read it a couple of times. I agree with that a 100%.that they will not deny you for sending only the main pages of tax returns or only few bank statements.but who gets the bulk of the rfe anyway, its mostly filers with little evidence. My reply to David was mainly because he said that policy means when reviewing your form after recieving it not during adjudication, and that's not true. I hope i am wrong but i still believe anyone who's filing any immigration application should be more careful now days, you know as much as i do that there's a ton of new memorandums and policy updates being implemented every day, as well as the political atmosphere regarding immigration is changing . You can't possibly still be naive to think its only directed against illegal immigrants which have nothing to do with any of these immigration benifits applications anyway, or for the .001% who try to game the system. Even though the words might be translated to that meaning.

If you read it, it is to prevent obviously fraudulent or meritless applications. They aren't going to give you a straight denial because you didn't send enough bank statements or the full tax transcripts instead of the main pages, if the rest of the application looks reasonable. Don't troll people, sure it can be funny, especially when teasing third worlders, but it shows bad faith.
Am not trolling anyone, just reading the text and giving my opinion. You are the troll who is living on a different planet. Who cares about the words, it's the deeds that matter, don't you see what's happening?. All am doing is trying to make sure that who ever reads David's and your baseless posts take the new policy seriously

Don’t worry thts for “when u sent ur application” tht time USCIS may reject without RFE if the application isn’t complete, wrong application or if it is not up to their standard.
Oh david, you,he and everybody else should be worried. The policy is as clear as day, starting september 11, 2018 all applications will be affected, those that were filed before that date included, only exeption is daca filers before that date. It had nothing to do with initial review, that policy has always been implemented. When they recieve your case they look at it, if something is missing it gets rejected and sent back, no rfe or itd is sent. This policy is clearly talking about adjudicating an application. So yes what it means is that there will be tons of denials without any prior intent to deny or rfe notices being sent, think about how many people get rfe mainly and maybe few itd, now all of them will be denied starting september 11, 2018. The scary part is that its open to io interpretation as to how complete or incomplete is a case, just like the new question being added on n400 form, regarding committing or aiding in committing a crime or thinking about it, when asked about what would be considered a crime the uscis representative replied, driving 5miles over the speed limit could count. You shoud worry my friend and try not to speed

Notification N400 interview has been scheduled.

It amazes me why would someone post a whole load of #######. I know it could have been a mistake in dates or spelling but why won't you replay to the question and correct the error. Because it is impossible for that to happen unless they are looking for you to deport

Good Morning!
I woke up to three text messages from USCIS. I have been approved!!! No RFE or Interview.
My timeline is below:
Applied: Jan 23, 2017 (Divorce Waiver)
Transferred to NBC: May 7, 2018
Approved and Card Production: June 27, 2018
I would like to ask for the ones that have received their green cards - how long did it take for your green card to come in after the approval? Also, with the changes in mailing the green card, do they require the signature when they deliver it? Or are they still leaving it in the mailbox? I ask because I am travelling next Tuesday for 2 weeks and kind of nervous about missing the green card.
Good luck to all those who are still waiting - it is on its way, I promise!!
90% gets their cards on the 8th day. Meaning you get approved tuesday you get it the following tuesday, you get approved Wednesday you get it following wedensday. Mine took 9 days. Got approved tuesday and got the card on Wednesday the week after. They leave it in you mailbox.

Hi,
I got this update today! I’m a June filer..
I’m just wondering what happened next and how long did it take to change to the next status?
That person got approved on march 8th. 2days after, this is true for most almost all cases. Unless you are very unlucky and have some issue. Good luck

Hi guys, noa date is may 15,2017. Has anyone here received a notice of approval but no change of status at all online? Yesterday my husband received an approval letter from uscis but checked online everyday and it still says “On may 15, We’ve received your CR1-89..” etc. Thanks in advance for the reply!
Congrats. That's because he's checking the wrong the reciept number. He should check the other number, you should find it on the approval notice or the biometric letter

My case was approved 90 days after being transferred
You are the exception to the rule. I think they like you alot so they kept you for 90days, or maybe they were transfering too many cases, but it also depends on the officer assigned to your case. My case was left on a dusty greecy desk for a month and a half after the interview before they finally didn't do their job and transfered it to another place to work it. Congrats to you, you should get your card within 7 to 8days

I've searched this issue alot and the best explanation i can give you is that the case was transfered internally within the same sc or local office. I found out that sometimes approval follows next day, some other times it follows 2 weeks or a month later, but they are working on it and it depends on how far the case has being woked on then approval will follow depending on that. Name and date of birth updates do not mean that for the applicant. But it means something for the uscis and or the office and officer adjudicating the case

Hey guys how long after did it take for the MY account website to catch up with update??? Thanks!
Don't stress your self out. If egov site showed your approval yesterday evening then everything else is very fast after, you should get your card no later than wednesday next week. Maybe tuesday. Approval letter either saturday or latest monday. Friday it should change to card mailed then monday they give you tracking number when its picked up by usps. As to dhs site it should show card production next day then we approved your case the next day. But its normally aday or 2 behind. Egov gets updated during the day, dhs early morning hours. Congrats

Amr0119, interview never shows on uscis case status, at least in my case. Never had interview scheduled, in line for interview, interview completed or nothing mentioning the interview, and when i was calling the 800 number they didnt even know i had an interview. Didnt recieve transfer to local office notice either. Only transfer to nbc 40days after interview and 35days later approval showed on case status

Congrats that your case was approved. May I asked whether the I/O said they will approve your case right after the I751 interview?
Thanks
Thx. The officer told us as we were walking in her office that even if i approve your case today you won't get your card soon because i can't load the information on the system since the new system is not running yet.as soon as it comes up ill. Then she said soon you will hear from me. At some point i heared her say, you will get a decision, approval, denial or if we need something from you. So that was no help. But i knew it has to be an approval, why not.i must have broken the record for time wait after an i 751 interview. 75 days. Ive not seen one case take that long, some were close, almost as long but most get approve same day, few within aweek or a month, 2 months top.(except cases with some issues). I even made a case enquiry that mentioned to them to please make a decision i don't care what it is even a denial just dont make me wait longer please. Having said all that. I promise you, you will get you approval very soon if your marriage is real. That's how its always done. This is a country of laws. If i had money and was betting man ill bet all of it on you getting updates next week. Maybe the week after if your unlucky, its your time anyway. 30 to 48days after transfer is when most people hear back. 35days after transfer for me. Don't worry about the io attitude. In my case i was called for an interview for no reason. We had ton of evidence but still we qualify and had clean case.so we got approved even after some hassle and delay.Same for you. You are eligible under 3 year rule so you will be ok. Good luck

Has anyone noticed/does anyone know if updates are done in the mornings? As in.. if I check my case status when I get up in the morning, do I not need to worry about checking it again at night?
Your egov site updates during the day, never at night or morning. Normally between 4 to 5:30pm but sometimes it may update around noon to 1:30pm. The dhs my account site updates early morning hours. If you want to find out if your case is approved then check the egov site around 6pm every night

Hello, don't stress yourself about something out of your control. Just go on about your normal life, dont think too much about it and try to forget this situation completely. Am saying this because i had an interview in mid march and we had solid case and tons of evidence and we were asked nothing at the interview apart from confirmation of name and address, we were also told everything looks good and approval will follow shortly. I stressed myself to the limit and was checking case status 50times aday and acting like i just gave up smoking, i even made case enquiries asking them just to send us denial but not keep us waiting any longer, and were almost ready to give up and just call it quits and move somewhere else. At the end when the officer had time they must pulled our case from their greasy trash pile and adjudicated our case in 2mins. It took over 2 and a half months until early June for the approval to come. A million things could be happening so just forget about it and go on with your life and eventually your approval will come soon. Good luck
