1. YEAH SOME PEOPLE GET TOUCHES A LOT OF UPDATES AND MOST GET NONE AT ALL>>>BUT I KNOW IT's HARD WHEN YOU SEE YOUR NEIGHBOR IS PULLING UP WITH NEWS...I ACTUALLY THOUGHT THAT THE MORE STUFF GOT APPROVED THE EASIER IT WOULD BE...BUT THERE IS STILL SO MUCH MORE DOCUMENTS AND STUFF TO FILL OUT...IT's LIKE APPLES HITTING MY HEAD THINKING OF EVERY LITTLE THING....

  2. Did you get the message from the automatic service or did you speak to a live operator...I spoke to a live operator and had them pull my case up...It doesn't give you the option on the phone you have to hit the option that says you never received anything from them and it's been over sixty days or something...

That's what I did and once the live operator came over the phone they pulled my file and told me that it was still being processed...but I swear by that me calling and pulling my file made them look into it...because the very next morning...it was approved via email...for NOA2...

    Good Luck!!!

  3. When you get the NOA2 you still have a while before they will give you an interview date...so at the time it is not an issue...Also if he has been in the US before it shouldn't be a problem...I mean how long does he plan to stay...

and as far as flying...It's funny because I had only flown once 3 years ago before I went to the UK....I flew to the islands which was about a 4 hour flight...and now I have flown to UK 3 times...and I look forward to it now each time...and you don't have to stay there forever...I usually do 4-6 days or so...You could leave on a Wednesday and come back on a Sunday...ticket prices are around $400 bucks these days to Heathrow or Gatwick...

So it's okay if you go...and when it comes time for the interview do you plan on going with him...then you might have to fly anyway...I mean he can go by himself, but for moral support and making sure the consular knows that you are committed then go along....

Also I guess only by him coming to the US is the proof of meeting in person....

Well in either case I wish you the best of luck...

I also have a child...but if you can work something out...Then that would be great...Where there is a will there is a way...just think positive...

  4. I actually...was glad I didn't have any problems getting into Gatwick on the day of the storm...Actually I arrived in the UK from US on the 1st flight in on Continental...I think I got in a 6:30am....but I saw all the stuff going on with the weather...

I called up a few days ago to make my appointment for my Medical and they told me that the price has increased by £10.

It went up from £160 to £170!!!! :ranting: They must be raking it in!!!!

Oh well, just another dip into the bottomless money pot which is a requirement for this Visa!!!!!

By the way, I hope the horrible weather in London didn't affect anyone over the last few days. I saw on the news that flights were cancelled at Heathrow!!

  5. Question regarding POLICE REPORT...

My fiancee has been living in UK for 10 years...but he is a citizen of Nigeria...I just assumed that he would only need a police report from UK...does it mean he has to get one from Nigeria too and if for some reason he can't get one from Nigeria...does it mean that denies him on hte day of interview...

    Please let me know...

    Thanks

  6. Okay I just had to change my timeline again...It seems that you can receive on thing in the mail...and when you call to speak to a live person you get another things...

Okay my NOA2 was approved via email on 1/10/07 and I got in in the mail on 1/16/07...Then on 1/22/07 I got a letter from NVC dated 1/18/07 that they received the approval I-129F petition...and that in 1 week it would be forwarded to the embassy in London...

    Okay...

So I called today the NVC gave them my case # and found out that NVC had actually mailed my file out on 1/12/07 and it arrived in London (US Embassy) on 1/17/07....

I mean everything is cool and seems to be running smoothly...so far...but it's funny how they can mail you letters when the information is not written in updated format...but if we send in any incorrect paperwork they are ready to give you a RFE or find some reason to reject you or investigate you...

    Isn't life grand...!!!

But it's cool to think that London got the file the day I landed in London to visit...my honey...

Also isn't it funny...this time around the immigration officer at the airport...wanted to give me a hard time about me have frequent trips back and forth to UK...1st time I stayed 8 days...second time 4 days and this time 5 days...They wanted to know what kind of work I did that allows me time off and blah, blah, and why I like visiting family/friends so much...

I was felt like geez lady it's 7am in the morning....I just want to get some sleep...

But all in all it was cool...and the trip was awesome...

  7. Kedu!!!! Odimma!!!...Yeah...you know I have to show my igbo pride...and of course...American too...HELLO...See what happens when you have parents (Nigeria/US) from different parts of the world...

And of course my honey...is Naija all the way!!!!!!!! So I'm back from my visit...in UK!!!! And things are moving along since I last posted in this section...

  9. Does someone live at the US address you will be using if you use California office...because no matter what you need to make sure you are sending it to an address where someone can receive your mail...and since you haven't moved to Michigan or know anyone there to receive you mail...you best bet is to use an address where you can receive mail...

WELL I RECEIVED NOA2 ON JAN 10TH EMAIL & HARD COPY ON JAN. 16TH.

NOW ON MONDAY (JAN 22TH) I GOT A LETTER DATE 1/18/07 FROM US DEPARTMENT OF STATE NATIONAL VISA CENTER...

SO GUESS NOW WE ARE LOOKING OUT FOR PACKET 3

  10. My family have booked tickets to come over for my wedding in November.

Continental Airlines, Gatwick to Newark direct, £160 return each, inc all taxes etc. What a bargain!! :D

& I think their sale may still be on.

I found it through Airline Network, but they charged £170, £10 more than Continental.

Yeah I like Continental....that's what I use to fly...to UK (I always find a ticket to UK for $400 roundtrip, except in Aug it was $730), but we haven't had to fly the other way around yet....so far only me coming out there....but I will keep the good deal in mind....

  11. I've been 2 the UK twice before I just filed the K1...I will be going to UK next week...I guess they like laughing to see so far I am there every 2-3 months...

But I never had a problem...Each time I was like I'm going to see my boyfriend...I guess this time I will say fiance...[/b

  12. I can't see the UK taking 8 months to issue a passport. Something is seriously wrong with that.

Yes, he was trying to get his UK citizenship and the took his Nigerian passport and I told him that it shouldn't take that long and I don't know what his lawyer is doing...See here in the US they just make you make a photo copy of your passport when they take it and you are applying for a passport/citizenship from another country...

But he handed over the passport to them with his paper work and now he is still waiting for it back...This is just totally crazy, but where there is a will there is a way...

However, you know years ago when filing for K1 Visa they use to take the US Citizen passport and keep it until the application was completed...
