  1. Congratulations - it shouldn't be much longer! I got my interview date mailed to me a few weeks after I sent off my checklist. I believe it was December when I sent off the checklist .... my interview was February 2, 2007. You can view my timeline to be sure.

We are filing for K1 through Vancouver and I just faxed off my checklist.

I have all the forms filled out (hopefully correct). I just got my medical results back yesterday....had a 950km drive to get them and back. The doctor says to me "everything looks good"...guess that means I don't have any communicable diseases or some form of something that isn't "allowed". That includes my twin girls as well.

Now the waiting game begins. I wait patiently for Vancouver to phone/email/mail? me my appointment time. Then I get to fly over the mountains for my quick trip there and back.

So any ideas how long it is after they receive the checklist as to when they actually book an interview??????? ANYONE?????

Hope you are all having a great day!!!

    V

Haha! I got my medical exam in Germany and had to drive 5 hours to get to the hospital. That sucked!

Be thankful you're being interviewed in Vancouver! The wait won't be long. Most people faxing their checklist there get an interview about a month later. I specifically asked for one on a certain date, later than they would have given me one, to coordinate with other vacation plans.

    Good luck during this process!

    Carla (F)

P.S. Question? Why would you travel 950 kms to get your medical results?? Wow!

  2. Hi and thank you!

After doing much reading on VJ last night, I decided to call the civil surgeon in Austin who transcribes everything for $10. I am mailing everything to him this week! All the other CS in my area wanted to do an entire exam all over again. Oh, and I was quoted between $300-$500. Ridiculous, isn't it?

OK, thank you! When should I see the civil surgeon. I mean, should I do that now?

I just hope I can find a DR to fill out the I-693A and give me the shots without wanting to do all the other stuff. :(

If you have already sent the AOS paperwork without the I-693A you will probably get an RFE as it is one of the things you should have included in the AOS package. So you should probably go ahead and get it done. Make sure you call around to all the civil surgeons in your area to find the best price. Keep in mind that if you need shots you can get them from a regular doctor and take proof of them with you to the civil surgeon to be transcribed with the DS-3025. Good Luck with everything

  3. The skin cancer will have no affect on your AOS application.

By the way, you only need another medical exam if it has been more than one year since your K-1 medical exam. So, as long as your K-1 medical exam was less than one year from the date you submit your AOS application, you only require the Vaccination Supplement (I-693A).

    Good luck.

Thank you for your answer! It has not been a year since my medical exam - it's been 3 1/2 months. However, I have been reading in so many threads on here, that people were told they needed medical exams all over again.

As for I-693 - I don't have that form. I only have DS-3025 and know that I need more vaccinations since you need 3 MMR shots and I only had one due to the time factor. Do you know what I am supposed to do in this case? It's driving me crazy.

    NO

    Thank you :-)

Sorry about the diagnosis-and I am hoping all goes well for you. (F)

As far as the Vacc Supp goes...Print off the I-693A from the USCIS website then take it to the Civil Surgeon with your Vaccination records.

They will fill the form in, give you the shots you need ( or waiver you from shots if that will interfere with meds/treatment you are currently having), they seal it in an envelope and that's what you use for AOS. It should all be OK.

Oh and call more than one Civil Surgeon ( if there is more than one in your area). We had quotes ranging from $250 to $50...

Hi again! Sorry to bug you but can you maybe give me the direct link for downloading form I-693A? I looked on the USCIS site but only found I-693.

Oh, I called civil surgeons in my area today and they are trying to persuade me into getting an entire exam all over again. They told me that USCIS will make me come back and get it again anyway. I tried telling them I just had one 3 months ago but that flew in one ear and out the other. Soooo, I scratched them off my list. I made an appointment with my DR to get one more MMR shot. I called that Civil Surgeon in Austin that I read about on here, and they will transfer everything for me onto form I-693A for $10! I feel so relieved now. They told me just to make sure to mail them form I-693A along with my vaccination record and form DS-3025. :-)

  5. Hello, does anybody have a copy of an I-693A form, or a link where I can see a copy of this form. That way I can see the vaccinations that are needed for Adjustment of Status. As I mentioned, my fiancee lost her DS-3025 form, so I need to know what vaccinations she needs to get again. Thank you.

you need to take your ds-3025 (should have that from the medical exam in country of origin) to a uscis certified civil surgeon, who will fill out the i-693a. if you take it to a doctor who is not uscis certifed as a civil surgeon, you're wasting your time and money. you will get one copy in a sealed envelope to submit with your aos packet, another copy for you just in case uscis loses the first. here's the site to locate a civil surgeon. note that the cost of transcribing the ds-3025 will range around $25 to upwards of $50 or more.

    uscis civil surgeon locator

What if vaccinations are still needed? I got my vaccinations done but there was not sufficient time to get the second MMR because of the interval. So, I was told I could get this done when i get to the states. Now my question is .... I don't have form I-693A - only DS-3025. Do I got o my regular doctor NOW and get the missing shots or will the civil surgeon do it? Im confused.

  6. Can you tell me how this works if you are missing vaccinations? I never got an I-693 form but do have DS-3025.

somebody please ...help..???!!! :help::help: : :crying: help:

All we did was have my wife's DS-3025 vaccination information transfered by a Civil Surgeon from the DS-3025 to the I-693A vaccination supplement. The civil surgeon provided my wife with the original I-693A in a sealed envelope, which we attached to the original AOS application, and a copy for our records.

My understanding is that for a K1 visa holder, so long as the AOS application is filed within one year of the original medical examination which took place in the K1 holder's home country, all that is needed is the I-693A.

Regarding the HIV test, I believe that is required in order to obtain the K1 visa, and should have also been done as part of the original medical exam in the K1 holder's home country. The doctor performing the original medical exam in my wife's home country provided us with a list of all tests and all vaccinations. I am sure all of this stuff was in the sealed envelope given to the immigration officer upon first arrival in the USA.

  8. OK ... after reading about all the problems people are having with civil surgeons wanting to do full exams all over again, I figured I would ask right now if any of you know of any Civil Surgeons in the Chicago area who know the proper protocols. Can someone give me a number or something? I really don't feel like getting a complete exam all over again when it's not necessary, and just so someone can make money.

Also, I am totally confused with all of this DS-3025 and I-693 forms. I thought that I didn't have any of these forms but I DO have the DS-3025 and a copy of my HIV results. I did NOT get a form I-693 .... perhaps because I am not completely vaccinated? I do know I need to get a few more vaccinations done. Anyhow, so what do I do since I only have form DS-3025?

I am so confused with all of this medical exam stuff.

Also, when should you go see the civil surgeon anyway?

    Thanks

  9. Are you saying that he didn't have to have another medical exam? Ahhh, I am so confused. I don't have any of those worksheets - they were never given to me! All I have is my vaccination/health record which has all given vaccinations in it.

we sent his vacc. supplement worksheet DS-3025 with my husband AOS and got lucky. best of luck!! just figured that if we got a RFE we would then spend the money for the civil surgeon!!!

    michelle

  10. Hi!

What exactly is an RFE? All these abbreviations are killing me LOL. I don't have any of these forms that you guys are talking about because NONE were ever given to me at the medical exam. All I have is my vaccination health record and the medical exam itself, which was in that sealed envelope that the IO took when I entered the country.

Also, by you not submitting the sealed vaccination report, it is my belief that you will automatically forfiet the opportunity of being approved WITHOUT an interview.

    Cheers!!!

    Sheriff Uling

Nope. Has nothing to do with it.

People get RFE'd from Cali all the time for the supplement.

A perfect package does not automatically mean AOS without interview. Neatness never hurts. But perfection doesn't mean you won't still get transferred and get RFE'd like the rest of us POOR SLOBS who SUFFERED through an interview.

  11. I have a question too. I never got my vaccinations at the panel physicians office who did my medical exam because I had them done by my DR ahead of time. Therefore, they never gave me any vaccination sheet or whatever. When I go to the medical exam for the AOS, will my vaccination record do in proving what vaccinations I have had?

    Thanks

Make sure to bring the copy of the vaccination record when you come to the USA. When it is time to file for AOS, you will find a civil surgeon in your area. The civil surgeon will then transfer the information from the vaccination record onto another document that will be sent in with the AOS.

    Meriem (F)

  12. I had to have the MMR shot too since I have never had mumps. I was told that when I go for the medical exam for AOS, I will need to get another MMR shot. I believe you need 3 shots in order to be fully immune against MMR.

Hi, I have been to get my vaccination history from my doctors for my fiancee visa today and I had my tetanus while I was there. The nurse told me that I will probably need the MMR as I only had rubella and measles when I was younger and not mumps but that I had to wait a month for the first jab and then had to wait a further 3 months for the second one. I can't wait that long - it's been long enough!!

Does anyone know if this is true as I have read different things on this forum?

  13. Well, thank you.

As for the mental stuff - I don't know. My husband has a degree in Psychology but we dont discuss mental illness much. I am just going by what I read on the psychiatry websites. :-) And I speak for myself I guess ... I'm not violent and neither do I ever have violent thoughts or anything. My anxiety just causes nervousness to the point I get sick to my stomach. It happens if Im in a crowded place or have to do something that I am unfamiliar with. It's gotten much better though. My aunt gets panic attacks but since they are different than anxiety attacks, she reacts different.

You should fit right in to America, land of anxiety. :)

As someone with a degree in psychology the statements and "statistics" on mental illnesses crack me up. I hope that one day the general public will become educated enough about mental illness not to fear it and/or make generalizations. The fact is, there is no set answer for who will lose it and get violent and who will be able to manage thier illness with therapy and/or medication. But then again, this is a board on immigration, not psychopathology. I just had to say.

Good luck with your future endeavors.

  14. I am waiting for my AOS and was told I need form I-693 and that I should have gotten that from the place I got my exam at. Well, I knew nothing about this form and dont have a copy. What does that mean? What exactly is it fro anyway. I really dont feel like getting a complete exam all over again. Does anyone have the number for the clinic in Berlin (the one on argentinische alee)?

  15. Oh, he was VERY worried. On top of that, my flight already had a 3 hour delay so he didn't know what was going on. He did tell me later on though that he called Immigration and spoke to someone when he didn't see me right away. He told them he was worried that something happened and that they wouldnt notify him if I got turned back around. Whomever he spoke with though, took his number and told him she would call if something bad happened. So he told me when the lady never called back, he knew it was just a matter of time before I could come through the door. And surprisingly, this woman called us later on that evening to see if everything was alright and if he finally found me. I thought that was nice.

What sucked was that he couldnt even meet me in the baggage claim area either. I have never experienced that at an airport before. Had he been able to go to baggage claim, he would have been able to at least see me through the windows LOL.

Descriptions of POE entries are exactly the reason I wanna come with my fiance across the border. I'd be Really worried if she was trying to get through and I hadn't heard anything for 2 hours.
  16. Thank you! :-)

Yeah, it has made up for it. I just thought I woul share the experience with others though .... not to scare them, but to let them know that if they do pull them to the side and get the CDC, it's not necessarily a bad thing. I was freaked out and would hate for someone else to feel that way. :-)

Sorry to read of your bad POE experience - I hope being with your husband has made up for it since, and congratulations on your marriage! :)
  17. One more thing - the package that contained the checklist and application forms also contained the affidavit of support form. Instructions for a medical exam were also in there. And yes, I needed my police ecrtificate as well.

Hmm, not sure if there are differences with other countries but I needed to send more stuff after the approval letter. I received a checklist which stated all the documents I needed to bring to the interview with me, and a few applications that I needed to send back right away. Once they received those documents and my signed checklist, they gave me an interview. Shouldn't be much longer for you though if it goes as fast for you as it did with me. Once they received my checklist, I got my interview date shortly after that.
I am an attorney and US citizen, and my fiancée is a college graduate and citizen of Thailand. We sent in our I-129 petition January 11, 2007, and received the letter of approval outlined below on April 4, 2007. We filled out the G325 forms, I-129 petition and also included declarations as to how we met and our desire to marry, copies of my passport and photos showing that we have met in person. No other information. Our petition was not unusual except for my cover letter on firm letterhead. I have not verified income, provided police or medical reports for my fiancée, or otherwise provided any information other than as stated above.

On April 4, 2007, I recently received notification that my I-129 petition was approved, there would be no further action by Homeland Security, and that petition has been sent to National Visa Center. The letter also stated that NVC will create a case record, and then send it to the US Embassy where my fiancée will be interviewed. What does this mean?

I thought, based on comments on this board, that the NOA2 was a packet that requested additional information. Am I reading too much into the letter? Is the interview the only challenge left? Or, are a medical and police report and other documentation (i.e., income, support, etc.) still required?

I am returning to Thailand next week and would like to tell my fiancée what is going on. I would also like to use that time to fill out whatever additional paperwork is still required, if anything, with her.

Any thoughts, comments or advice would be welcomed.

  19. LOL

He filed 2 petitions in the past? Not to be mean or anything but that doesn't worry you a bit?
Ohh, man this doesnt sound good.. He did file 2 petitions in the past. How bad is is? What about that waiver? What does it do?

thanx 4 all your help btway!

  20. I don't know. My mom always says it takes a twisted person to come up with twisted comments. I feel better now that I got to clarify what I meant. I can actually laugh about it now.

Hmm, maybe that had something to do with it. I tried it again a little while ago and I can post in it now.

You haven't seen the infamous bunny with the pancake on his head? I just figure if the bunny also had a blow pop in his mouth it would be even funnier. Then imagine a person doing it.

It had to have been. I tried responding to several posts but it wouldn't let me.

I ask because the site seemed to be down for a while this afternoon and posts hardly ever get locked here without the OP (you) asking.

Oh well, water under the bridge. Now, can you tell me what the heck PUT A PANCAKE ON YOUR HEAD AND EAT A BLOW POP is all about?!

  21. Oh, ok. I have no clue why I was thinking that you are currently in Mexico LOL. Wow, how far is Yucatan from Juarez? Juarez was my party place back in my teen years. It's gotten dangerous for women over the years. Sad because you can do some cheap shopping in Juarez. When my stepfather first brought me and my mom to the states, she loved shopping there because they had alot of foods and items from Germany. Good luck to you and your fiance with the interview!

I lived in southern Mexico. My fiance is from Yucatan.

This'll be his first time in Juarez for his interview!
