Mi amorcito viene a recogerme y juntos iremos a nuestro pequeño pueblito jajajaja.

Hello VJs,
I have a questions right now. I got my K1 visa las sep 4th and it is valid until march 6 2008.
I am planning on travelling to US next February cause i need to finish some stuff here until then. So we are planning to get married in May (spring) since Winter is very cold in North Dakota.
I am wondering now if I need my K1 visa valid for getting married, cause in may it will have already expired... should i get married before march 6? On the other hand....should i need my visa valid to start my AOS process? o get my SSn and driver's license?
Please... help me to solve this...

I have read members reviews from Peru and many have stated that they were able to get the visa within a couple of days. If it takes longer, we will just have to change our plane tickets and go site seeing, not such a big deal. I was just hoping for some positive feedback.
Hi Brian-... in my case it too about ten days to have my passport back... just for u to know..
Take care

HI guys,
I guess you dont have send all the documents to the embassy. You only have to sign up that instruction paper and send them back as an indication that u have everything u need for the interview. You musnt send them ur documents. You carry the documents to the embsssy at the interview.
Then, u must ask for a doctor appointment. Are u sure there isnt any doctors name in those forms? Cause whenb i received the package, there was a list of doctoras at the American Clinic, so i asked for an interview there.
I dont know how it works in Santa Lucia, buty here in Lima -Peru, i called the embassy to be sure what to do, they told me it wasnt necesary to send back any paper, only to have all my dosuments ready, my visa afee and medical eamination for the interview date.
So, if u dont have any information about a doctor, call them and ask for that.
Good luck!

You are right...it isn't difficult. You dont need a lawyer. You must only be organized. Everything you need is here. Try to double check any document before u send them.
Good luck.

I am sorry for what happened to u.
It is well known here how they treat people there, I have applied before for a Cultural exchange and I saw many people applying and they were really rude with those applicants. They denied at that time a Tourist Visa to an 80-year-old woman who wanted to go with her daughter (who is a very important speaker) to New York only cause she couldn't stay on her own for a month!
They just said: denied!
As the e-mail esplains, they want to see that person is coming back to Peru. However, I know some cases where my friends had money, a good position at work which are things that tie you here, and theyw ere denied. One of them because she had nevr traveled abroad before, so the officer said: "go to other countries first. You will qualify for the visa after I notice two or three more stamps in ur passport."
I am very sorry about what happened.
On the other hand, I am also worried the embassy denies a tourist visa for my parents since I want them to attend my wedding. They have never traveled abroad but they both are working and the both have properties here. They are not rich, but they have savings.
I hope when they applied they can get it.
I guess it is just matter of luck here. And I agree about the million dollar they earn everyday.
Here in Perù ate least 400 people apply everyday!!!!
Anyway, thanks for posting this topic, I guess many of us have dealt with that somehow.
Again, any advice is always welcome!

Hi
After reading the guides on this site I know what documents we need for the interview. Some of our original documents have already been sent to the visa center including Marriage licence, birth certificate, police clearance etc. Does the NVC send these documents back to us or to the consulate doing the interview? or do we need to order new documents? we have a lawyer but they are very incompetent (delayed us about 2 months) and don't give us any information.
Thanks for any responses
I guess u need another original ones sinnce they won't send anything to the embassy. At the very beggining of the process they ask you to send the copy and keep the original ones with you. I guess now you should ask for new originals.
try to do it as asap so u can have a good interview without problems.
Good luck!

This happened to me exactly
I did not make enough the prior 4 years
But now I am making enough
In the original petition I sent a letter from my employer stating how much I am making now, when I started, and that my position is full time and my last 3 paystubs
They asked for my last 3 years of tax returns, all of which showed I did not make sufficient income. They just wanted to see that I paid taxes at least. Anyway, send the tax returns, it doesnt matter what you made, then also a letter from the employer and the last few paychecks to show them. All will be fine, maybe a 2 week delay at most on their side. Depending how fast you get your stuff.
This is no problem at all. Or at least in my case it was not. And my K1 interview was 3 months ago
Raspect...what exactly do i need for the interview?...mine is in two weeks in Lima. My Scott is not coming, so i feel nervous...
-
good luck!!! I hope everything turns well!
