We input the 5 years worth of information - including her address and workplace prior to moving to the U.S.

Thanks for your answer. And how did everything go? Did she already get approved?

im thinking about including info from the last five years too.

I  believe if you file under the three year rule you only have to provide the information for three years. Having said that, I did mine online and it would not let me proceed and said there were missing dates so I gave the info for 5 years for my previous addresses and jobs.

When it asked if I had left the country in the last 5 years and for travel information I said I had not left because when I looked at the way the questions are structured they ask when you left the US and when you returned and since my visa was only granted 4.5 years ago .... you get where this is going. I think it's just badly worded

Thank you for your reply. And how did everything go? Did you already get approved?

[1] I also applied for 3 year rule, add 3 year of US address and 2 years of overseas address [2] added three years of work history here and two year or start of the year @ overseas ( if it more than 2 years).

No questions asked about them during interview.  All those questions are for their record and background check.

Thank you for your answer. Opinions on this matter are very mixed but if you did 5 years and had no problems I am guessing I will do the same.

My wife did the same as @dilip, she put her foreign address for the time prior to the three plus years she was in the US.

    Thanks for your response,

  3. Hello All,

I am about to file the N-400 under the 3 year rule.

I am confused with section 5. where it asks to list my addresses for the past 5 years.

Also, part 8. asks to list employment history for the past 5 years.

Since I am applying based on the 3 year rule, should I only cover information on both questions for the past 3 years? or should I include information for the past 5?I have only been living in the US for three years and a half.

I would appreciate your help because there is not a section on the uscis website that specifies this exactly.

    Thanks!

Recently got approved for Citizenship based on marriage to US citizen as well. The only documents that we submitted related to our marriage (apart from a copy of the marriage certificate, of course) were IRS transcripts (filed jointly) and apartment rental leases with both names for the past few years. I did take some additional proofs with me to my interview at Federal Plaza, NY though, but there was no interest by the IO in any of it.

    Hello,

I am in the middle of filling out the N-400 based on marriage ( three year rule) and I am confused regarding the questions that asks to list the last five years of address history and employment history. Should I list 3 years of info( since I became a permanent resident) or should I list info for the past 5 years (  I have been living in the US for 3 years and half.

    thanks for your advice

  5. Hello all,

I will be filing form N-400 under the three year rule.

regarding the form I have a couple questions. For example, where it says part 8.list where you have worked or studied for the past 5 years? should I list only my information for the past 3 years? i have been living in the us only for the past 3.5 years.

then part 5.information about your residence for the past 5 years. should I list my addresses from out the us? or just for the past 3 years, considering  I am applying based on the 3 year rule.

    Thank you for the advice

  6. Hello to all,

I submitted my husband's ROC on April 16th , got the NOA 6 weeks after and still waiting for BIO appt.

We  feel we didn't sent enough evidence. For example we sent only four months of bank statements and after reading the threats on this forum we realize that people usually send more, and also we got more ideas of evidence we have and that did not sent.

However,we did sent tax returns for two years and we own a house together, plus other evidence like trips, some bills, car insurance.

I would like to know your experience regarding sending more evidence before getting an RFE.  I read somewhere that there is no guarantee the extra stuff will get to the correct place.

I would appreciate your input. Thank you!

  7. Hello all,

I have a random question regarding ROC. Now that I am reading all the info people post here I realize I sent only a few months of jointly bank statements and that I should have sent the statements for the entire duration of my marriage and I am very worried.

my husband and I married at the courthouse and a few months later in a catholic church. Do any of you know if religious wedddings have more weigth in terms of good evidence ? We also own a house together.

    Thanks for any input.

  8. Hello all,

I am on the same incredible long wainting list . I filed on April ,14 at CSC and the packet was delivered on the 16. I called uscis and was told to wait 30 days , then I call back after the 30 day mark and was told to wait at least 60 days. Checked is not cashed and of course no NOA either. The representative said they are working as fast as possible because they know thousands of people are in the same situation.

let’s just hope we all get news soon. I remember that the AOS of my husband two years ago took a little more than 4 months in total. What a difference!

Good luck to all of us

  9. Thanks for the responses. I contacted Uscis today and spoke with a tier 2 representative who confirmed that the fillers for i751 of march and april are in the group of people that could wait up to 60 days for the NOA. I was very worried because the check was not chashed either. So this confirmed that my package has not been opened yet.

my husband green card expires on june 30, so luckily he is in status. I will continue to wait and hope it arrives before june 30 otherwise I don’t know what the procedure is , once you are out of status and the only proof you have about filing your case is a tracking number.

is someone in the same position?
