    Hi all

Just want to share with you about my combo interview at the SF office early this month.

With both the I-751 and N-400 interview notices, my spouse and I attended the combo interview at the SF office. We waited for around 10-15 mins in the waiting area and were called in for the interview. A middle-aged Asian woman was the interviewer, very nice, friendly. First, she had us swear in, then had us review the G-325 forms which were submitted with my I-485 fours years ago. She said if there are any changes since then, just make corrections on the form and sign. Then, she asked me and my spouse some questions re our life, family, how we met, travel history, etc. After around 5 mins, she had my spouse leave the room and wait outside, then she started the N-400 interview. She started the civics test first, then writing and speaking test. The six questions she asked are all very simple questions, including what is rule of law, name of ocean on the west coast, name of anthem,  and I forgot the other three. There are 10 questions on the list, as long as you got the first six right, she would stop asking. After that, she started going over the N-400 form's questions one by one with me. She would make notes on the forms, this process took around 15 mins, coz it is a long form. Then she asked if I brought any updated docs. Then I handed her the 2016 and 2017 tax returns, more updated mortgage statements, car registration, health coverage statement, W-2s, bank statement, etc. all showing joint ownership. and photos. She kept some of the docs in  my file. Then at last, she handed me a letter Form N-652 showing that I passed the civics and English test, and that a written decision will be mailed to me. The interview said she has not had time review my updated docs yet, and if everything is ok, I will receive decision and oath ceremony letter in 60 days. Then she led me out. Then that's it for the interview.

Then two days after the interview, it shows I-751 was approved, then later N-400 status shows in line for oath ceremony.

    Good luck to you all

yes two notices, one for I-751, one for N-400. My N-400 interview was scheduled first, then was cancelled. then after 2 weeks, they sent me the I-751 interview notice and the second N-400 notice, both on the same date

    Some updates again

so I just received a separate interview notice for my N-400, which is at the same time on the same date as my I-751 interview notice I received yesterday. So it’s confirmed that it will be an interview for I-751 first then for N-400.

    Hi all

So the SF office just rescheduled my interview to July and this time the interview notice is pretty clear. It shows it’s a I-751 interview and reminds to bring spouse and some updated docs e.g. tax returns, etc. and it also says your N-400 interview might be interviewed separately on the same day. So it’s pretty clear right now. Guess the SF office starts having a more unified protocol as to I-751 and N-400 joint interview, which should be a good news. The SF filers whose interview was just canceled should also receive another letter pretty soon.

I think this might be the new policy for combo filing of I-751 and N-400 in SF office. Yeah hopefully will not wait for too long for the next interview

    Hi All,

Last night I received a letter from the SF local office telling me that they have to cancel my interview due to unforeseen circumstances. Then I called USCIS this morning and the operator told me that the system shows the officer is still reviewing my case and not ready for interview yet. Another applicant also shared her interview experience in another website. She is also a N-400 and I-751 combo filer and local office in SF. According to her, when she went to her N-400 interview, the officer just noticed her I-751 is still pending and denied her N-400 interview and told her that her I-751 needs to be approved first before taking the N-400 interview. Then in two weeks, she received an I-751 interview notice. She and her husband went to the interview and the officer also did the N-400 interview during the I-751 interview and she got the approval recommendation for her N-400. So right now, I just need to wait again for another interview notice, which I guess might be an I-751 interview notice. Anyway, just want to share will all the SF filers and will keep you posted if there is any update. If you also receive a letter descheduling your interview, don't panic, you are not the only one.
