I am looking to travel in a few weeks for short business trip, I already have my Expired 2Y GC  and i551 Stamp so it should be sufficient to re-entry. But I had my i751 interview last week and still waiting for a decision hopefully they will approve my case but what happens if God forbade my case got denied while I am outside of the country, what is the case when I tried to re-enter the US?

I recently got my stamp for traveling purposes and asked the officer if I could travel without worrying about re-entering the country. He said that it is normal for us to travel while i-751 was pending, that's the purpose of the stamp. I even asked if I could renew my passport, have my old one with the stamp in it and my new one and use both. He said that there shouldn't be a problem. I emailed CBP anyway to confirm just in case. I also asked what if the case gets approved meanwhile I am out of country. He saw our NOA1 date and kind of laughed saying we won't be hearing anything before next year (we filed 08/07/2017).

  2. The other day I called USCIS regarding me and my mom's pending i-751 application (I am dependent on her application).  As such, I haven't received notice on my name. Basically the only paper I have on my name is the notice that they don't need my fingerprints and picture taken again. I was upset and decided to call and check where our case is in this process especially because I want to travel and I don't have a valid document to do it so. On top of that my passport is expiring and I want to go to my country and change it. When I called, she needed my mom to confirm her personal information, and after she said that our case is being transferred to our local office. I told her that we made a case inquiry and that they didn't say anything new other than they were still processing. She said that the case was indeed transferred to our local office and she was able to confirm that that would be in Dallas. She also said that we should receive something by August 26th, since on the 26th it will be 6 months since the case was received in the local office (February 26th 2018). So, maybe that wasn't a glitch in the system after all. Many people were transferred in April as well. I wanted to share this with you so that you can know what they said about cases being transferred to a local office. When it comes to the transfer letter, on their website says that transfer notice is issued when case is moved from one service center to another service center. Therefore, I don't think that they are issuing transfer notice when they send cases in local offices. I also have scheduled InfoPass appointment for June 29th to have my passport stamped and be able to travel. They should issue me the stamp since I literally don't have one single document on my name.

  3. We made an inquiry regarding the "case was received by a local office" thing. What they basically said was that the case was within the normal processing time (I don't really see how waiting 17-19 months is considered normal), the case was still in their California office, and that they are sorry for any conflicting information that has been displayed over the case status tool. Wondering why they have one if it's not working properly. And another thing that really annoys me is their new page that shows processing times. It's so weird and confusing. I really don't know when is this going to be over.

I'm also an august filer with no biometrics despite calling and going to infopass appointment. The infopass officer told me that "of course they haven't sent me a biometrics appointment,  because the process is taking so long and they don't want the biometrics to expire before they have a chance to get to my case."

I am a dependent on ROC application and we filed in August. They sent a letter back in September 2017 that they didn't need my biometrics and will use previous ones. The previous ones are from 2015. So maybe they will be able to reuse the previous ones.
