I think she ment if Dutch law allows you to take dual citizenship. The Netherlands is very against it, but they do make some exceptions. Marrying a foreigner and taking their nationality is one of those exceptions.

C90 Thank you !! This is exactly what I wanted to know

Just to clarify---a permanent resident of the US?  Are you in the US or outside right now?

Sorry for the questions---just your post isn't very clear since you are talking about "Dutch laws"...it makes it seem like you are residing outside of the US right now, and asking if just being married to a USC/Dutch citizen would make you eligible from abroad...so want to clarify since it's a bit confusing the way your original post is  worded?

If you are living in the US as a LPR, then yes of course you can apply for naturalization once eligible to do so.

Or is your question asking about dual citizenship?

I do live in the US as a LPR,

my question is regarding dual citizenship

    Sorry for the confusion

Acquiring US citizenship through marriage to a US citizen has to do with what is allowable by US immigration laws, not Dutch laws.

I don't see a way without you making the US your permanent residence at some point, no.

Hi Thank you for your response

    I am a permanent resident
