  1. You can go an hour early or so (6-6:30am), u cant tell what time u will finish coz they call applicants in random order. Based on my experience, i was called at prescreener at 9am, consul at 9:45am (need to wait for couple of minutes coz the first one before me was not yet done), at 10am im done...so goodluck! You cant bring water or snack, there's a canteen inside the embassy but better to go there after your interview so u wont miss if your number flashed on the queing board or they call you. Goodluck!

  2. hahaha. It's so fun reading your posts! :D I will bring all the clothes I can bring!

I shop at the kids section most of the time and im sticking on shorts and skirts because i can't find jeans or pants that will fit me even in kids section.

You got that right. When we bought shoes here, they gave me the kiddie size of 3 or 4 because they can't find one in the ladies section that will have my size. And when we shop for a shirt at Harley's shop, I'm glad they have my size, it's either XS or S, but it fits me well. Good thing there are shops here that have smaller sizes= XS/S. But I had my suits tailored made in the Philippines before I went here just to be sure.

It's so funny we both have same experiences. My husband is fondly shopping me clothes and always say he cant find my right sizes. Clothes here are way too big for me so we went to Dilliards and other shopping malls to check their "petite sizes" but sad to say its still kinda loose, lol!

When it comes to food, you're not alone Mae, i order happy meal of Mc Do too, and when it is a buffet (eat-all-u-can) i get a tablespoon of each dishes to try. Now im not suprised why people here are obese, and one thing i miss is having cash on my hand coz i use debit/credit cards here  ...hehehe!

  3. My fiance will be traveling to Manila soon to do the CFO. I sent her the NOA2 awhile ago but it still has not arrived at her address yet.

Does she need the original NAO2 for the CFO or can she use a printed copy that I sent her in the email if the original doesn't arrive in time?

    Wioombeen

When i went to have my CFO seminar they only asked for my passport dont forget to photocopy it and photocopy of my birth certificate or NBI. Tell her to bring a photo of you together and also they asked for photocopy of divorce decree if ever, at that time i dont have it so they tell me its ok. Goodluck!

  4. what are the usual questions in POE?

I entered LAX as my POE last june and pretty much easy but lots of passengers around. The immigration officer asked me for only two questions: (1) Who is my fiance and, (2) what is his work ...then after that she stamped my I-94 and told me when it will expired and then the famous "welcome to America". There is a counter where u will drop or check in your baggage again if u have connecting flight. Just ask the security officer/s where it is coz they are mostly pinoys as far as i remember as u claimed your baggage, look at your right side and u will see a sign " check-in baggage for connecting flights" then just drop your baggages at the conveyor and go to your terminal for your next flight...goodluck!

  5. is it ok or acceptable if ill give them passport size instead of visa size photos during the medical?!

Nope, u have to bring 2x2 photos not a passport size.

It is in the packet 4 and need to follow. Actually u need 3 photos. One (1) for your Patient Data at SLEC, then on the second day u need two (2) for them to submit at the US embassy, dont forget to write your name at the back. Goodluck!

  6. hello! just a simple question for the recently finished their medical. just want to know if whats the best time or the right time for me to go to SLEC. 4am? or 5am? coz as much as possible i want to be the first in line hehe

my sched is on sept. 24 but i want to take an early medical like septmber 5. is that possible? ill just call SLEC for packet pick up and ill just show the guard my printed out appointment letter from the USEM website? or the NOA2? will the guard let me in if he saw my appointment letter for medical is on september 24 pa?? thanks

and 1 more thing is it possible for me to go this early for my medical? my interview will be on oct 4. correct me if im wrong but what i know is that it should be 30 days prior to the interview. do you think the results will still be valid up to oct 4 if ill take my med on sept 5?? thanks

I had my medical 1 month prior to my interview and got no probs. Anyways if u dont have your packet 4, you can use the printed appointment letter from the website and photocopy of your NOA2. Then tell the guard you want to request a copy of your packet 4. I went to the SLEC at 7am and done around 10am, so u dont need to be that early unless u have something to do at that day. I think our medical at SLEC has a one year validity.GOODLUCK!

  7. I feel sorry for your situation but i admire your courage to handle this. As his new and legal wife you have all the rights. I know when they divorced they have court settlement why not follow it?! I mean im sure it stated there his visitation rights as a father. Think of yourself and your future together, its not selfishness i mean here. You guys need to talk including his ex-wife. If someone needs to leave the house, its not you...hope u have a peace of mind soon and dont let this situation ruined your marriage life, GOODLUCK!

  8. Dont worry abt your age gap as long as you have bonafide relationship there's nothing to be afraid of. Me and my fiance (now my husband) has the same age gap as u guys but we never had encountered any prob esp when its time for my interview. So relax just be prepared for all documents needed, our prayers with you.

Kathlene got her packet and interview letter confirming August 9th as her interview date yesterday! So for everyone who was worried about the appointments disappearing off the website, that is good news!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL WHO GOT THEIR MEDICAL AND INTERVIEW SKEDS...HAPPY FOR YOU GUYS :dance::dance: !!!

We just got married last June 22, 2007 and now preparing for AOS application...

  10. Well we finally got the Visa :D What a long road it was to. At the interview in Moscow they said she would have her visa in hand in 5 weeks. The Interview was on 31 Jan, she got her visa on 7 June. A LITTLE more than 5 weeks  But now she has it and we are working on planning a wedding which will hopefully be in July but will probably be in September. It really came as a surprise because on 1 June we called the Embassy and they said it was still processing, so we told them to send Tanya's passport back to her so we could take a trip to see each other. Using the DHL tracking we could see that they sent it on the 4th, then it was delivered on the 7th and wow... there was a visa in it :) WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO

    What a good news...congratulations!!!

  11. It was very uneventful interview in Bangkok. Arrived at 6:30 am. Got inside at 6:45 am. Guard does not allow to bring cell phones or laptops inside. Submitted paperwork to window #5. Sit and wait till 10 am. A lot of people inside applying for a variety of visas. Only one clerk appeared to be working on K1/3 visas. There were 2 couples with kids and one single woman. At least one couple got the visa, the rest I could not tell. Interviewer spoke broken Thai. My fiancé had a hard time understanding his questions. Her English is way better then his Thai. I have no idea why didn't he just ask her in English. Questions: How did you meet your fiancé? Where did you meet your fiancé? How many times your fiancé visited Thailand? Where does he lives? He asked me some meaningless questions and it was over. Oh yes, he fingerprinted my fiancé as well. "Return to pick up visa day after tomorrow at 3 p.m."

Over all, besides a 3 hour wait and interviewers bad Thai, it everything went very smooth. I am so glad it is over.

Thanks to everyone who made this board possible and who helped me along the way.

    Good luck everyone!!!

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!

  12. My next post will be made when I get to the US. I leave Manila on June 12.
