It takes four days for the paper file to get to London from NVC. Websites, status checks, notifications are iffy at best.  Things should be fine for you. You don't need the letter to interview.

What did you use at the medical to confirm your LND number since you had no letter?

We had the email from the NVC that said our case was In Transit. That's good to know that we don't need that letter! Thanks!

Probably the e-mail that the NVC send you now. My case finally got in transit yesterday, and received an e-mail directly from the NVC confirming everything. It has case number, receipt number, names of petitioner and beneficiary and stuff.

Thanks again for keeping me sane when I was panicking about getting all of this stuff! Can I ask, do you submit the DS-160 before attempting to schedule the interview, or the other way around?

We submitted the DS-160 as soon as we got the In Transit email from the NVC so definitely do that before you schedule the interview.

  2. Hello Everyone

I have seen a lot of helpful information on this thread but I just want to bring up our current situation and see if anyone has any input. Our case left the NVC on June 12th and it has been "In Transit" on the CEAC website since then. My fiance has already done the medical appointment, and we have submitted the DS-160. We were waiting to schedule the interview for when we got a notification from the embassy that our case has arrived, but I read in this thread and elsewhere that if it's too soon to book the interview that the website won't let us. So I went in and tried to book an interview and the website didn't give us any sort of errors. So we have paid for the interview and courier and her interview is on July 5th.

So our question is, since we were able to book the interview, does that mean our case has arrived at the embassy in London and the CEAC website is wrong? We are worried that she will get to the interview and our case hasn't actually arrived or they will turn us away since we never got a letter or email from the embassy even though our case left the NVC 2 weeks ago.

Thanks very much for any information!

Are you using the CEAC website to check your case number? Does that website still say "In Transit". Check out the UK forum as they might have tons of helpful advice for the specifics in London! http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

    Good luck!

Yes it has been "In Transit" on the CEAC website since last Tuesday. I really thought it would have arrived or at least given an update by now. Thanks for that link, I'll see if I can find anything else.

  4. Hello Everyone

I've been loosely following this thread but this is my first time posting and I just have a quick question. Our case left the NVC last Tuesday and it's going to the embassy in London. We haven't been contacted yet that it arrived. How long does this usually take? Also after we are contacted, how long is it until we get an interview. Any information would be very much appreciated!

    Thanks
