I got my 10 years permanent resident card in 2019. (got the first (conditional) green card in 2015, submitted renewal in 2017 Nov and it took a year and a half)

So it's been 8 years since I became a permanent resident.

My field office is Nashville. I live 20 mins away from the field office. I went to that office for the green card.

Finally! As of yesterday my status was changed to "interview was scheduled".

I didn't get the notice yet so I don't know when it is, but I'm so happy that it's moving!!

Is your field office in Memphis or Nashville? I got my interview notice on August 3rd - GC five-year rule based on employment! Do you have any I751 pending

You are not alone :) I am a March filer still waiting for an interview to be scheduled. My FO is Seattle though.

I know I shouldn't feel any better to see this but I thought I was the only one waiting for an interview to be scheduled and i thought something went wrong with my application😭

My ROC process 2 and a half years so i was freaking out the same thing happening. Hope we hear back and can get ours done soon!!

  4. Filed 4/29/2023

    Biometrics reused

Case actively reviewing status since 5/3/2023

    Nashville field office

    Permanent resident since Nov 2015

STILL No movement on my case ever since it went under review in May.

It's frustrating but i will just have to wait.

It seems like other filed offices processing times are mostly 6-8 months and they get them done in 3-6 months, my local field office however has 12.5 months of processing time so i feel like I won't see any update till October or November. Just hoping my vacation next year April doesn't get affected.

Any update? I filed on 05/02 and received the biometric reused notice on the same day. Looking at other Nashville timelines, May filers can expect the interview letter in August for a September interview. The oath ceremony can get us into November.

Unfortunately not, My case has been in "USCIS is actively reviewing the case" since 5/3 without any update. I technically filled it in April, hopefully your rough timeline in Nashville is true so I can get an interview letter.

    Good afternoon all,

I got my 10 years green card early April.

During the process I got divorced and submitted all the additional documents to prove that the marriage was bonafide and I got approved with no interview.

However, during the time, I once hired an attorney and he filed another case separately because I got divorced. After too much hiccups I fired him.

But last week I got a letter from USCIS for a biometrics that he filed last year. I was waiting on NOA1 to come to withdraw the case but I never got it, just biometrics.

So now since I already got the green card from my original petition and want to withdraw this case... Do I still need to go to the biometrics? Or simply don't go for that one so it will be abandoned? The paper is stating that if I don't show up it will be considered abandoned. If it gets abandoned, am I going to get in trouble?

Guys, an update: I went to the the neighborhood city office and changed my name! Yayyyyy! 🥳🥳😘😘

Could you change your drivers license too?

My situation is a bit different, but I am too trying to change my last name.

I came to the US with K-1 visa, was married to this dude(lol) who ran away with his affair after a year of marriage, so we got divorced.

because I changed my last name to his name during the AOS, as soon as I got the divorce decree I tried to change my name on everything.

the SSN office changed it with no issue because my decree was saying my name was going back to my maiden name but DMV refused it because my name on USCIS data base is different. because I had a ROC pending with divorce waiver, I sent a letter to USCIS that I want to go back to my maiden name when I send them the divorce decree, but ...I just got the 10 years renewed green card and it is still under my ex's last name.

Now I am engaged,  we are looking to have a wedding next year but we are going to get married at the court this year first.. because we are doing a destination wedding and tax and the other benefits are better for us to be married first.

My soon to be hubby doesn't want to wait until i get citizenship to change my last name, he is willing to pay $540 to change it.

I am the same way, but if I can change my SSN and driver license first, I don't mind waiting until the citizenship to get my last name changed on USCIS database. if you could change the drivers license name, I think I can change it too..

Congrats!! That gives me hope, I also filed with a waiver and the JUST ask me for the divorce decree and no more additional proof (I had sent like 150 pages). That tells me that the actually been happy with what i had sent before. They received my RFE on the 03/18. So now I wait 🙂

when I filed I-751 jointly with my ex I already submitted lots of papers to prove the marriage. Then when I sent the divorce decree I also sent additional papers. I hope your case gets approved soon too!!!

  9. OMG..so after all the craziness, I just got this!

    image.png.03c6e3976d4b1ba5cfe73c45a3a6a219.png

I went through a lot to get this card so when I saw it I started to sweat and cried.

I mailed the I-751 to California on 10-31-2017 , got the NOA 11-08-2017, got biometrics done on 2017-11-30

I got divorced last year and it was finalized on August of 2018.

I sent additional papers to prove that marriage was in good faith and divorce decree a month ago. it was delayed because of my attorney didn't know what he was doing. (I fired him!!) there was no update other than a glitch last year.

I guess they didn't have an interview with me because I sent a lot of papers.. like, joint bank accounts, all the papers to sell the house and all of them had both of our names on, letters from friends, tax returns together (3 years), pictures,  life insurance info that my ex and his mom were my beneficiaries.. and Also he was in military so I was registered on their database as spouse., etc... so much thing!

  10. I feel like my case is lost somewhere.

I mailed the I-751 to California on 10-31-2017 , got the NOA 11-08-2017, got biometrics done on 2017-11-30

I was on part of glitch Feb of 2018 so it is showing on 02-27-2018 they received it to the local office.

During the time I got divorced and send additional documents to prove the marriage was in good faith but that wasn't until last month.

my I-751 starts with WAC18039XXXXXX and CRI-89 is WAC18028XXXXX... my 18 months extension will be expired this May, and since I am working I am getting nervous and even feel like they totally forgot about my case..

I see lots of cases are getting transferred to other offices but mine is not moving at all.

I had also filed a joint petition in Nov 2017. However I converted my case to a waiver in Jan 2019. My case status hasn't changed since March 2018. Was wondering if they have approved/interviewed any waiver cases yet and whether waivers have a different timeline compared to joint filing.

I don 't think waivers have different timeline. Also, our cases were filled jointly and we just sent additional papers (divorce decree, other support docs to prove the marriage was true) so I don't think they are considered so much different with the other joint filled cases. just the difference is they HAVE to have an interview for cases like us so maybe that's why it's taking longer than other people getting approvals

Has any divorce waiver filers received case transfer or approval notice yet ?

I'm doing the waiver and haven't heard back yet.

But I filed it jointly because all the dramas happened 2 months after we filed I-751 together.

and my lawyer was stupid enough to almost screw my case so I sent additional papers 2 weeks ago.

I am hoping them to schedule an interview for me soon.

I filed to California and my receipt number starts with wac18039****

  13.

    Good afternoon all,

Thanks for taking time to look at my post to help me first.

I have a pending case with USCIS to remove the condition that I filed in November of 2017 jointly with my former spouse.

However, we got divorced in August of 2018 because he cheated on me and ran away with his affair.

I hired an attorney and he told me we had to file another case and we did.

long story short, it was a wrong. I talked to a tier 2 agent last friday and he said we shouldn't have submitted another petition but prove the marriage was in good faith at the interview.

Since people from 2017 November are getting approved and I am not feeling comfortable to just go to the interview with evidence, I am trying to send additional documents to prove the marriage was bona fide and a divorce decree so I went to USCIS office and the address on the website in showing different with the one I originally submitted.

My case is currently pending at California (My case number is showing WAC180390***)

so my question is, do I need to send it to California? or will I need to send it to the new address they are showing on the website??

    thanks

    Hi,

I came to the U.S in 2015 with K-1 visa and my ex spouse cheated on me and we are in process of divorce.

He said I cheated on him with my gay coworker and got our from the house back in 2016.

even thought I didn't do anything wrong, I felt at fault for making him to think like I was cheating on him so I tried my best to keep the marriage.

But early last year I found out that he was actually cheating on me and was living with her.

I was so stressed out and was attempted to suicide and etc, spend few months thinking how to torture my ex husband mentally by killing my self then one day finally I noticed it wasn't me and I don't need to die because of that shithead.

His family was/is my side since they knew what he was doing and they may have said something to him.. so when I applied for the green card last year,  he filed it with me.

then last year he tried to come back to me but his family told me that he already moved out from TN and went to IL to live with that affair and what he was trying to do to me was having me as a sex partner. I don't know why I didn't think about getting divorced with him until then, i must have loved him so much to not see that side, but I finally decided to get divorced.

we filed non-fault divorce in June and it will be finalized in August.

I'm getting letters from my friends who witnessed our relationship,

got a statement from the bank that we had a joint account,

I have copied my dependent ID card from military with his name as a sponsor,

House papers with both of our names on,

car insurance with both names on,

    Pictures of us,

tax returns for 2015 and 2016 we filed jointly.

A letter explaining how the relationship started, why it is ended.

is there anything else I need to add?

if not, what do I need to do now? do I have to fill out another i-751 form and send with it?

or just explain in the letter that the marriage is not valid any more and send all the evidence I have?

thanks all advance for your help.

  15. Thanks for the replies.

Yeah the marriage was legit. I met him at work and we came here together after him getting out from army.

It was okay until he turned to totally different person I used to know.

I do have a lot of pictures with him and his family is on my side so I can ask them for letters. We have a house together. Will sell it soon but I need to sign to sell so that can be a proof too I guess. I also have military dependent card under his sponsor when he was in military. I was afraid of getting kicked out because I have no connection in my country and I am not willing to go back there. And I tried to work with him on the marriage but he ended up with that girl he was cheating on me with so I am going to say bye to this marriage and get the green card with waiver!

    Hi, I am a November 2017 i-751filler.

I have been separated with my husband over a year after him accusing me cheating on him with my gay coworker. (In fact he was cheating on me and currently living with her)

He said he was going to wait for me to get a green card then get divorced but he's keep changing words and trying to control me and threatening me so I am just tired of it.

I want to get divorced and file a divorce waiver. I talked to a lawyer and he said unless I was going to get divorced 2-3 years obtaining the green card it was the only choice for me.

And also I need to notify USCIS that I am proceeding divorce and send them evidence of relationship.

    Is it correct?

And how hard is to get approved with a waiver? I am thinking about no-fault divorce since I don't want any complexity with him.

But I will get letters from his parents and him that this marriage wasn't fraud.

  17.

    Good morning,

I know there are some post of related matter but I'd like to ask the members what is good for my case.

I came to the United States in 2015 with my K-1 Visa and got the conditional greencard.

back in 2016, my Ex(well he is technically still my husband but I'm calling him as an ex) got changed really bad and got out from the house. we've separated since then.

If you wanna know what happened... here we go. you can skip this part

in August 2016, He accused me cheating on him with my coworker who is gay. My coworker wanted to talk to him to tell him he is not interested in girls but well, he didn't wanna listen.

From earlier that year, he didn't want me to do something without him away from the house but he didn't want to spend time with me. He just wanted to lock me in the house.

After he got out from the house, I was in really bad depression and got real bad health issue so he said we can try to work on the marriage but didn't work. Actually, he didn't do anything. He was gone. I couldn't see him for months.

The house we had(and still have) had some issue and I had to move out from that house in July on 2017. He said he was gonna move back in but didn't.

Later I found out that he actually had a girlfriend when we were "supposed" to work on marriage. or actually even before! I don't know how long they've been dating but I know it has been awhile. Last year he moved out from TN and went to Illinois to live with her.

He didn't know that I knew all about that until 2 weeks ago. He was FREAKED OUT. He still wanted to have sex with me late last year and I said no but kept all his texts and naked pic he sent me.

Well, I don't think that girl knows what he's been doing to me  but I am not telling her anything because I want her to keep him forever :) and ever after.

His family is on my side and they told me what he's up to. They are so happy for me that we are getting divorce. HA They don't like what he's doing and they are want me to be happy just ending everything with him ASAP but still keeping relationship with them. they don't even't talk to him.

November of last year I applied for the green card. we were already separated but he agreed on helping me get my 10 years green card. I think it's a way for him to feel less guilty about what he has done. He said he would wait with me to get my greencard done and would go to the interview as well if needed. But he's getting impatient. maybe it's because I got the conditional one in 3 months without an interview....

He's keep asking me about GC update that I ALSO WANNA KNOW SO BAD!! and I met a person that treats me way better and makes me to think why the heck did I deal with my ex before and even tried to work on the marriage. I am happy, and wanna get done with my ex ASAP since he's asking me stupid questions every day (He is super nice to me lately and all his family and my friends think he is having an issue with his girlfriend and may wanna come back to me WHICH I AM SAYING F NO.) and also I want this person I'm with doesn't feel he's with a married woman.

so, if it's not so risky, I am just gonna file divorce and file the waiver.

Some people of the forum said I should notify USCIS to as soon as I file the divorce.. and some said I just need to wait until it's finalized.

I am going to file the fastest option we can choose, so it will only take a month to finalize.

    so my questions are

    1. what is the process for the waiver if you already have a 1-751 pending? file a divorce- finalize - waiver?  it is received at the local office like others btw.

    2. how risky is it??

    3. if my boyfriend wants to marry me while the waiver is going on (after the divorce) .. do I need to wait until the GC gets approved?  We both are not really young. I can see he wants it. I didn't say anything but I'd like to have an idea what can we do if it happens.
