I am wondering if you get the same status if you go to Case Status Online:

    https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

I remember during AOS for my wife, Case Status Online was always more up-to-date than myUSCIS.

Yes, I always check both but they are showing the same status. Thank you!

I was also earlier asking the very same question because I was freaking out about lack of status updates.

My (rescheduled) biometrics took place in August, and little over a couple of months later the case status was updated with Ready to Be Scheduled, and now Interview Scheduled. Still waiting to receive a letter by mail for these, though.

That's good news! Thanks for sharing your timeline.

It is not unusual.   After biometrics the IO/ Field office has to review the file and schedule the interview.

Thanks for the reply. I'm asking because I saw multiple people say that at the same day or a few days after the Biometrics appointment the case status got updated with something like "Biometrics Taken".

Attached is how my case history looks.

  3. All docs/forms submitted: JAN/25

RFE Proof of Domicile: FEB/05 - My mistake, correction already uploaded and submitted.

Apart from that, All Docs Accepted Except: Joint Sponsor's I-864 and Proof of Citizenship / Joint Sponsor's Wife I-864A and Proof of Relationship

If there was no mistake I was supposed to have my case complete today? Or, they approve the documents in more than one step?

Now expecting a 15-day wait for the next change. Is this reasonable?

Your joint sponsor is married, so his wife is counted, as would all his other dependents be counted, if any.

Got it! Household Size = 3

Joint sponsor's income is above the minimum requirement and we're only reporting his own income on I-864. So, we left items 8; 9 and 10 as the print screen below.

In this scenario, his wife still required to fill I-864A?

    Thank you!

  5. Hey guys, I have a question regarding I-874 and I-874A forms:

-Our joint sponsor (petitioner's stepfather) files taxes separately from her wife (petitioner's mother), but they are married. Is she supposed to be added as a household? Is she required to file an I-864A?

-About the household size in the joint sponsor's I-864, would it be 3? 1-Joint Sponsor 1-Wife 1-Beneficiary?

    -And the household size in the petitioner's I-864? 1-Petitioner 1-Beneficiary, total=2?

    Thank you!

  6. Hello everyone,

My wife (petitioner) and I live outside the United States.

For greater reliability and faster documents delivery, we want to fill a U.S. Mailing Address on I-130 form.

That address my mother-in-law`s home address and the same one we will fill later as the place we "intend to live".

In this case is it ok to fill that U.S. Mailing Address on I-130 form? Or we need to fill a residence country address?

Of course, she can forward us overseas any document as necessary by a courier or express mail.

This is a non-issue.  Name changes during naturalization are common.  Just provide copies of both passport data pages and a brief explanation.

Thank you very much, really appreciate that.

Just one more question: is it required/recommended to fill the section "Other Names Used - Provide all other names you ever used, including aliases, maiden name, and nicknames"?

  8. Hello everyone,

First post here, tried hard to find a similar situation over the past threads but I didn't.

My fiancée (Brazilian and US citizen) and I are planning to get married in our home country to file for a CR-1 visa. We have - so far - decided for that instead of K1.

The point is that her name in Brazil does not perfectly match her American name. So, by consequence, her name will slightly differ from the Marriage Certificate to her Certificate of US Citizenship.

    To be specific:

    • Home country name: A B C D; In which: B and C middle; and D last name.
    • US name:                      A B D (A B C D);  For some reason, "C" was removed over the naturalization process.

Note that First and Last names perfectly match.

Is this a trouble for filing I-130? I talked to an advisor that said it is a real problem, once it is supposed to be a full match. But I would like to hear from you guys.

A copy of both passports wouldn't be enough to prove it is about the same person?

    Alternative options I thought:

    1. File for K1 instead;
    2. Go to the US as a tourist (already have the visa), get married there and return home to then file I-130. (100% legal)
    3. Any other? It's complicated to get married as an alien in Brazil.

Thanks in advance for your attention and help.
