Wow! Congratulations. You got your oath ceremony on the same day you passed your interview? Awesome, that's so cool. :)

Fortunately!!! The officer told me that I can opt for a later naturalization ceremony but I opted to get day off. Didn't want to wait any longer.

There were around 50+ people from 28 countries at my Oath ceremony last week. It was surreal.

After I got the naturalization certificate, I went immediately to my municipal office and applied for a US passport. The process is easy as long as you have all the documents in hand. You would need to submit the naturalization certificate to them. Hopefully in 4 weeks, I have my new US passport in hand. They will return the naturalization certificate as well.

Additionally, USCIS does recommend to give 10 days after the naturalization ceremony to update your citizenship with the Social Security office.

    Good luck to everyone!!!

  2. Hi All,

After completing and passing my N400 tests and interview this morning (appointment was 825AM), I'm happy to announce that my oath taking ceremony for Naturalization is scheduled for 130PM PST today.

    Thank you all!!!

Submitted my N400 application on October 28, 2019 and got approval April 3, 2019. So it took 157 days
    ... or 22 weeks & 3 days
    ... or 5 months & 6 days

    USCIS office is Portland, Oregon.

Good luck to those still waiting for the N400 interview!!! Congratulations to everyone who completed their N400!!!

    Hello Prisma

Did you file the N-400 as well ?

I filed my I-751 in March 2017 and N-400 In February 2018. I just submitted an inquiry 3 days ago so I am hoping it will speed up the process or if I will have to until a combo interview.

    Thank you

    Hi JB,

I filed for N400 only after I received my physical GreenCard. Just filed back in the end of October 2018.

Hopefully, the inquiry will speed up the process for you.

    Good luck!

Those of you VSC filers for March 2017 who have not yet received 10 year Green Card are officially  "Outside Normal Processing Time."

    https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/home

You can now officially file to inquire about the status of your case.

For those who have filed this 'Inquiry' before, what is the typical response and result?

When I inquired, a couple of weeks later my case was approved without RFE.

Welcome aboard! Congrats on getting your green card, that was a long wait, 19 months. Do you mind sharing if yours was a standard case? Mine is pretty standard and I've been waiting over a year now. I think that's just the way it is, but I do find it interesting to try and figure out patterns.

You'll be getting your N400 biometrics appointment soon, and an estimated case completion time. Let us know how you get on!

Thank you. Yes mine is a standard case. I think most ROCs are just taking longer than usual across the board.

Just logged on to my account cause I got an email on it and it said estimated wait time for biometrics is 31 days and estimated case completion time October 2019 (12months). Crossing my fingers!

Since Nebraska inquiry time is still 2016, I am wondering how you were able to submit an inquiry for case outside normal processing time?
When i tried to do that for California, it flags me as case still within normal processing time.

    Hi,

I was able to submit an online inquiry with the timeline I had with no issues.

    March 14, 2017      I751 was mailed
    March 17, 2017      NOA1 Dated
    March 22, 2017      NOA1 Received
    April 21, 2017         Biometrics appointment
March 20, 2018      Received I551 stamp on passport valid for a year until March 19, 2019
June 27, 2018        Cased transferred to Nebraska field office

If that wouldnt work for your case, others did suggest calling a Tier 2 agent. That may work too.

  8. FINALLY!!! I received an update on my case: "Card is being produced". I can't wait for them to mail the physical card over.

    March 14, 2017      I751 was mailed
    March 17, 2017      NOA1 Dated
    March 22, 2017      NOA1 Received
    April 21, 2017         Biometrics appointment
March 20, 2018      Received I551 stamp on passport valid for a year until March 19, 2019
June 27, 2018        Cased transferred to Nebraska field office
October 9, 2018     Submitted inquiry on why the case is taking longer than our processing time, received referral number
October 15, 2018  USCIS sent response that an officer is looking at the case and will get back to us within 60 days
October 17, 2017 USCIS updated case the Card is being produced

I fortunately did not have any RFE.

I'm truly hoping that in a couple more days, I can finally close this chapter of the longest wait of my life.

I'm praying for everyone that are still waiting for an update on their cases. As what I did, maybe submitting a case inquiry will help USCIS look at your case again and take necessary action on it.

I got notification on my case this morning stating "We transferred your case to another USCIS office for processing"

This is on the MyUSCIS or DHS site, and the case# is the one for the I-751 itself (the original receipt notice, not the CR-89 case number)

Same here. CSC filer as well.

Got a notification this morning from MyAccount@uscis.dhs.gov on my I-751 number. But when I checked the other site, uscis.gov, no update. So I am not certain what to believe.

I went today to my infopass app, and they also told me that my case was in California, I told him that I had an update saying that my case was in my local office, he said nop still in California, I tried to get the stamp for the extension and they told me that i have to do it 3 months before my Green card expiration date. So I will have to come back in june again. No good news here. I wish all the best luck

My Infopass appointment at the Portland USCIS office was on 3/20/2018 as my extension is set to expire June 2018. I was able to get an I-1551 stamp for another year until March 2018. I explained to them that I have to travel for work internationally in the next couple of months that would require me to get travel visas (e.g. Europe). As to not encounter any problems when applying for said visas, the officer gave me a stamp valid for another year as they do not expect the I-751 anytime soon.
