  2. Tomorrow's my InfoPass Appointment and I am excited, what are they like?

The reason I am going is because I went 3 months ago to see why card didn't arrive in the mail 2 weeks after my fingerprints.

They told me to make an appointment in 3 months, and this is it. I know I mentioned this a couple of times but I don't want to get anyone lost.

When I had my AOS interview the officer could not approve me because my fingerprints were not done. He said that after my fingerprints were taken (I had the appointment the following week) my card will arrive in 2 weeks. So i took my finger prints and got a bunch of touches from the day of my fingerprints (Jan 17) to Jan 28. Since then, nothing. I have no criminal history, no tickets, nothing.

That is why I am going, I hope they approve me right in the appointment... does anyone know if that's possible?

Thank you so much for your help.

  3. You cant really tell from the office dates but reading your sig and seeing that you have already been interviewed, what where you told at interview? Are you still awaiting your FBI namecheck?

No one will be able to tell where you case is at but the best advise is probably to make an infopass and check the status of your case with an officer.

no, i was never waiting for a FBI namecheck. what happened is that i had my interview first than my biometrics. he said that after my biometrics appt my card should arrive in the mail a week after... but nothing came.

i am going to make an info pass appt for next week, just in case i dont hear anything this week... i think i should be able to get it approved... it's really needed when u dont have an EAD.

  4. Today's been 3 months since my AOS interview and I have received nothing.

I filed AOS in November thru marriage and they are barely processing October cases... (are they really accurate??)

A couple of months ago I called USCIS and they said that if 3 months have passed after my interview and I have not yet received a decision to make a an appointment to infopass...

I don't know what do do. I need a job (the reason i didnt file for ead is because the person helped me fill out the paperwork said it will take 3 months for the whole aos process to complete... it didnt.

    thanks for all your help

  5. I called USCIS customer service and I got to speak to either an Immigration Officer or a Customer service representative (I think she gave me her ID # or something, therefore I dont know whether she was one of each) and asked me 2 questions, which of one i answered yes. I believe one of the questions was 'do you have a immigrant status?' and the other one about a citizenship certificate which i heard right and i said no. Now the reason for calling was because I haven't received my biometrics appt for my i485 and I wanted to ask her about that. What questions do these people usually ask you before helping you? I am afraid that I lied (not intentionally) for saying that I had a immigrant status. I know this topic it's very very stupid but I always want to make sure things go right.

    Thanks for your time.

The customer service line is often referred to at the "Mis-Information" Line because they rarely get anything right! Most of the people that answer the phone are just sub-contractors employed by the USCIS to man the phones - they rarely know anything about immigration!

I see from your signature that you have an appointment on the 9th - I would ask the question regarding your biometrics then, if you haven't received an appointment for them by that time.

    Thanks everyone

Yep, my appt is on the 9th (next Tues) and thats exactly why I called (biometrics). she said biometrics appt usually take 30 days from the date they received it. since they received them on Nov. 10, they should've sent me the biometrics by dec 10 (not counting holidays & weekends) but she said that i should receive them by jan 10. but i also posted another topic about biometrics and someone replied that they might do them right there before or after.

    happy new year!

  7. Hello Everyone,

I received my appointment for my Adjustment of Status for next Tuesday.

However, I have not done my biometrics. Does this mean I will be waived for them?

Or will I have them done after or before my interview (the district office where my interview is going to be in San Bernardino so I don't know whether they take fingerprints there of not)

    thanks for your help.
