It's almost better to be under a much slower service center, so your case would get transferred to NBC and get approved within 3 months

really.. my case number is WAC and I received a notification 1/20/2021 that my case is transferred to NBC.. so does that mean my case has a possibility to get approved faster? ty

Delivered on 10/29, still MO has not been cashed, no text/email. Getting worried.

hi there, I'm almost the same timeline as you. don't worry too much. I usually read and base my status from the Google spreadsheet for October filers. My package was received by USCIS on 10/28, my credit card was cashed on 11/18. I didn't receive any email/text notification but my NOA just suddenly came today 11/23. As I have observed from the spreadsheet, those whose package was received on 10/27 got their check cashed and NOA's came starting 11/13 until last week, (so as for me 10/28 was expecting for this week and it happened), so each date a package is received takes a week after (from the timelines) for their NOA's. So as for you 10/29, it will come next week or the week after. I wish you good luck.

My check hasn't been cashed, no notification, no update on receipt of my package.. This is become a pain day by day because you worry about your documents getting lost somewhere. Anyone in the same shoes as i am? or Longer ?? Should i go fight my local USPS office? lol.

  5. Hello, I know there's a lot of discussions regarding my situation but I'm still caught up with a confusion whether I'll do an action regarding my middle name issues.

I'm a Filipina having traditional 2 given names, as it appears on my PH Passport (my Maiden name), as I came here as K1 visa.

    Given Name: Katherine Grace

Middle Name: Antiquiera (my mother's maiden surname)

    Last Name: Silva

Got married in California and Marriage certificate (Wife Details) appears: (I've read as per US naming, second given name becomes the Middle name) and that's what concerns me as I don't want to drop my second given name as that is what I have in all of my PH documents and ID's (First Name: Katherine Grace)

    First Name: Katherine

    Middle Name: Grace

    Last Name: Silva

then on the last part of my Marriage Certificate (Change Name appears) which I think that California MC's only have...

    First Name: Katherine

    Middle Name: Silva

Last Name: Fernandez (my husband's surname)

*to add, my husband also is a former Filipino and naturalized US citizen, with 2 traditional names too, and in our Marriage Certificate (husband details) appears:

which not like mine and as I wanted to be

    First name: John Robert

Middle name: Rosal (his mother's maiden surname)

    Surname: Fernandez

I never got an issue with getting my SSN (before filing my AOS, they used my married name at once) as it appears.. Katherine Grace Silva Fernandez

I initially got an issue with my DOD ID (Military Dependent ID)... as they said my Marriage certificate doesn't match my Passport or any PH gov't issued ID's (Professional license and NBI) because of the first and middle name issue, they won't accept my SS ID as an ID because they wanted a Photo ID... so they didn't issue me a dependent ID, and I had to wait until I receive my EAD and GC cards (hoping that there would be no issues with it) then..

I never got an issue with my State ID, EAD and GC as it appears..

    Last Name: Fernandez

    Given Name: Katherine Grace S

and finally got my DOD ID (Military ID) and because they were so confused for me having so many names it now appears as:

    Silva Fernandez, Katherine Grace

Now, 9 months married, I will file a Report of Marriage in PH Embassy SFO, CA and I am concerned if they will make an issue out of my Marriage Certificate, filed in NSO PH as it is, and later might be a discrepancy in all of my PH documents as I still have properties and licenses in the PH (in my maiden name, so later I have to change my status to married name) and in my renewal of Passport.

As of now, I am thinking of having my Marriage Certificate corrected in the City Hall, but I am still in doubt because my husband and my mom in law is telling me not to anymore because our MC is as per US naming and that I am just overthinking too much this..

Anyone who encountered my situation, or any advices please..Thanks so much

    Hello guys!

My I-94, SSN card and marriage certificate don't have my middle name. My question is, should I use my middle name when I fill out the AOS, EAD and AP forms?

    Thank you!

Hi.. I have the same situation, my middle name is missing in my marriage certificate and I-94 as well... I just filled out the AOS and EAD forms with Other Names Used and provided a copy of my passport and Visa (with my middle names on it) proof that you’re the same person. I filed my AOS without an SSN yet..

i already had my interview and they never asked anything about it... Green card received already without any issues

  7. Hi.. I have the same situation as you... my middle name is missing in my marriage certificate and I-94 too... but I didn’t have any problems with my AOS application.. I just filled in the “Other names used” and provided a copy of my Passport and K1Visa (which has my Middles Names on it)- proofs that you are the same person. I filed my AOS without a SSN yet.

I already had my interview and they never asked anything about my SSN or my Middle name missing..

My fiance is from the Philippines. We met March 2018 met it person May 2018 and filed July 2018. I visited her twice last year. She's very worried that she might be denied on the interview because of lots of scary stories about the denials like about the length of the relationship, the age gap thing. Can you please help us on this matter? Would it be better if I come with her on the interview because we have planned before to just pick her up. Thank you for reading and helping us here.

Hi.. No need to worry.. US Consulates in Philippine USEM are very open minded as long as you prove to them that the relationship is real... No worries as long as you’re true, no matter how short the relationship is..

Speaking not from my experience (though i’m K1 visa too), my bestfriend also is a K1 visa, she was 30 years old and her US fiancé is 53 years old, with only a 5 minute interview according to her (her fiancé did not accompany her)... they just asked basic questions and asked for their photos together (vacations and engagement) then that’s it..visa approved, visa in hand in a week..

She is saying that KSA is withholding the PCC which @lovemeow your friend should be able to process the K1. Do you know for sure about that are you just speculating about this, have they actual went to the interview yet?

There are some special cases in our company that they could arrange your PC even if you’re not in The country anymore (though it’s a longer process) as long as you resigned in a right way or Cleared from them... the policy in acquiring a PC is you have to have an endorsement or request letter from your company to show the police station...

my colleague’s situation was she went AWOL, and left a bank loan (newly loaned then left)... so the company won’t clear her and help her arrange a PC.

Thank you for the info.😊 your friend cannot get pulis clearance because she went AWOL? Or because she is no longer in KSA when she request for PC?

Hi.. Both because she’s not cleared with our company and getting a police clearance needs to be personal appearance because you have to stamp all of your fingerprints in the PC.. and it will take like 1-2 weeks to get it because they’ll still do a background check

  11. Hi.. my POE is SFO, came here June 2018 as K1 visa ... No issues at all. The immigration officer was very friendly and just took my Visa packet, showed the stamp where I should be married in 90 days and told me some funny stories about California... then I just passed by Customs, they never checked anything. Total time from plane arrival to seeing my fiancé (30 minutes only).. 🤗

  12. Hi there... I think it will not affect K1 visa approval.. I am an OFW myself, worked in Saudi Arabia for 8 years, and as per USEM requirement (that if you stayed in other country for more than 6 months) I secured a police clearance, with English translation and authenticated by the Philippine Consulate of Saudi Arabia. It didn’t affect my approval though it quite affected the petition process because they do a Background check and whenever my petitioner follows up from USCIS and NVC they told us that Arab government is quite slow in responding to them and they even had to send another letter request of clearance checks for me. Even though you didn’t finish your contract, as long as it’s settled and you are cleared from your previous company, as long as you’re not AWOL and able to have a police clearance, everything’s fine. As much as I wanted to process my petition in US Embassy of Saudi Arabia, as I inquired, they don’t process K1 visas (K1 visas as they say should be processed in your home country), they only accept working related visas and tourist visas there. Maybe it depends upon the USEM of each country..

Just FYI, I have a colleague (an OFW) who went AWOL and is also petitioned for K1 visa, but since she was not cleared from our company, she left a bank loan and even though she asked her boss to fix her situation, they won’t issue her a police clearance and so now she can’t push through with her K1 visa..

hope this helps.. good luck to you!

Hello @lovemeow! I'm also from the Philippines, hello kababayan! I recently got the same interview notice scheduled next month. Just want to know if you brought form i 693 to your interview or opted not to? Also if you could share ypur interview experience, that would greatly help! Thank you!

Hi kabayan! Wishing you good luck for your interview next month 🤗

About the I-693, I didn’t bother to bring it.. and the interviewer never asked for it not even the medical.. it seems that before they called our names for the interview, the interview officer already reviewed our case (which she saw that my medical has only been less than a year). My interview lasted 20-30 minutes only, all she asked are what’s our love story , evidences of a Bonafide relationship. I just gave her a copy of our joint credit card statement, joint telephone bill, a copy of our health and life insurance, apartment contract lease with both of our names on it and asked for our photos  (I showed her our engagement, wedding, honeymoon photos) asked me to identify every family member who were present in the wedding and reception photos. She asked everything about the Form I 485 (just to verify if everything was filled up and matches your answer) and the questions about your background etc etc where all the answers are “No”.

Then the interviewer said, everything’s fine with the interview and gave us a white paper saying that our case is still for review and to give USCIS 120 days to review it, and she said that this is not a bad thing, it is just a protocol for them to give out this paper before they approve a case. They will just send us a mail of approval or RFE if they still need more documents from us.

Now’s almost a month, but we still didn’t hear from them.. My case status online was updated a day after my interview “interview is completed, case for review”... and now No news yet 😓

Thanks lovemeow - very much appreciate the quick response. Some additional questions, if you don't mind. Did you see a Dr at the Public Health Clinic or just the technicians did all the tests? Does the Dr also do other physical exams/questions, etc?

Yes.. at my first appointment only a Nurse Case Manager saw me and gave me instructions and the paper requests for the procedures (Sputum, blood and Xrays) which I had to do in a Private Diagnostic Clinic nearby  where only technicians did it, though a Radiology doctor was there to see my Xrays and compared it with my previous Xrays (from my medical visa screening from home prior to my interview) and all diagnostics was free.... after a week, they called me about my TB blood results and Xrays and wait for 2 months more... so after 2 months when the results were all in, they called me to come and it was the Public Health Doctor who saw me ( explained all the results, showed me my Xrays and did some physical exams and questions)

  15. Hi.. I’m a K1 visa with a Filipino US citizen fiancé got interviewed May 15, 2018 and arrived here in US June 1,2018...

it it was a quick interview for me

    Questions were:

    Name and birthday of fiancee

How and when did you meet

Your love story and when, how we were engaged

When did he migrate to US and who petitioned my fiance

My fiance’s  parents names ?? If I met them here in the Philippines?

    Fiance’s occupation

When did he last came to the Philippines to meet me?

    Asked for our Photos

Then the consular officer recommended a Visa for me right away...

    Visa came May 22, 2018

Hello - When in US, did you also have to do a blood exam? Did the results of the sputum test take same amount (2 months) to be completed ?

Hi.. I arrived here in US (June 1, 2018) and after a week here, I received a call from the Public Health Clinic and scheduled me for an appointment with them (June 22) They had me do a blood test for TB, Chest Xray and Sputum exam (for 3 days, which they let me take home the 3 Sputum bottles, do the Sputum thing every morning and keep it in the fridge and come back to them on the third day- June 25), and as a protocol, they had me do a HIV exam (pricked my finger for a drop of blood and had the results in a minute) and yes, results came after 2 months. They called me (August 23) to inform me it was Negative and asked me to come to the clinic to have my Medical records cleared for TB.

  17. 2 hours ago, geowrian said:

I could add in immigrant visa numbers to those counts, but there is little reason to believe the ratio would be considerably different.

Sure, sputum testing happens more often than TB treatment. But even then that would be 6 cycles of new people (~2 months for each group)...changing the rate of being tested to 21%. It's still far below the "more applicants fail than pass" and "most applicants" claims.

I understand the frustration, though. Nobody wants to get so far and have to wait longer.

At the same time, even though only a small number of tests result in actual TB findings, 1) TB is deadly and this testing is directly saving lives, and 2) it's quite contagious. If they miss even a few handful of people, imagine the consequences (both in terms of others infected and how this would impact future intending immigrants).

YES, i know. TB kills. I'm a Nurse in Infectious Ward, most of my patients are Active TB, i handled and cared for ALL kinds of TB. But I just feel frustrated how SLEC assess the applicants. As a Nurse (especially for Infectious Department), i am having my X-Ray, doing all kinds of Swabs (Nose, Throat and Sputum) every month and numerous Vaccines as a saftey protocol and I have always been tested Negative in bloods with CLEAR Xrays, with High Immunity... then coming to SLEC, suddenly something appeared in my X-Ray. I felt frustrated thinking maybe I have acquired the TB already, when I asked the Doctor in SLEC a lot of questions, she said while looking at my file, "OH, YOU'RE A NURSE, NO WONDER", I  dont know what she meant by saying that... is it just because I'm a Nurse and they're expecting me to be tested or is it just why am i asking too many questions... because i was staring at my X-Ray when she showed it to me and I cant see anything but then she said, " Maybe you had TB without you knowing. Anyways, bigger chances you'll be Negative and just wait 2 months"... with that kind of answerfrom their doctor it was very unprofessional so I don't trust them at all

but then I have nothing else to do but comply...

Coming here to US, I did an X-ray and Sputum exam after 2 weeks of my arrival, and it was very CLEAR... The US doctor (from Public Health) said, my lungs are perfect... then I showed my CD Xray results from SLEC... the doctor said there's nothing and wondered.. he even told me "It's funny how the results of your Medical in your country came out" 😀

Mania handles just under 20% of all K class cases in the world. While 300 is a lot, Manila processed just under 7,000 K-1s + 1,500 K-2s last year. So 300  * 2 (6 months of treatment means 2 cycles of new people annually) / 8500 = 7%.

sorry, those 300 of us (ALL applicants), not specifically K1's only and for Sputum exam only.. 😬... it's just frustrating to see most applicants are undergoing Sputum exam and being delayed for 2 months... but only a few gets positive results and undergo treatmnet for 6 months...
