Thank you for letting us know. Did you send your medical with your AOS package?

Your PD is earlier than mine. I don't expect an interview before next year but if I do get a letter before it would be a pleasant surprise. I am just happy than I can start my new job next week.

    @thepanda

Yes, we sent the medical with the AOS package.

Today, we got the approval letters for both I-131 and I-765, and the letter with interview date. A good day indeed. We don't have the combo card yet but it says one can travel with the approval letter for the I-131. The status for the I-131 is not updated online yet.

    Good luck to everyone.

    Hello @Bfree3 & @talad,

glad to hear about the combo card. Fingers crossed.

For the timeline for my husband who is a Swedish citizen, I am green card holder (not sure why it is not showing up at the bottom like for others + I can't update the AP and EAD section in my timeline as it says it is the wrong visa type. Not sure how to fix):

    Prio date November 30, 2016

I-130 approved April 2018 (still not updated on website)

Prio date for AOS package April 24, 2018 (sent I-485, I-131 and I-765 in same package)

Got email that interview was being scheduled in Stockholm (can't remember when). Changed it to AOS as husband is in the USA on E2 visa.

Got an RFE in July for birth certificate (which Sweden doesn't have). Responded on July 19.

August 1, 2018: email that they are ready to schedule the interview

August 21, 2018: email that new card for EAD has been ordered and will be sent to our home

August 22, 2108: email that interview has been scheduled

We have signed up for "Informed delivery" at USPS (there is also an app), then you get an email every day with images of all the mail you are going to get that day.  Very helpful.

    Good luck to everyone.

    @Bfree3, @talad, @thepanda,

Received notice about interview in the mail today; September 26, 2018 in Boston.

    Oh wow congratulations.

What was your PD for the AOS? Give us a breakdown of your timeline please

Oh if you signed up for both AP/EAD together in the same package then  it is most common to get the combo card. Most people have mentioned no movement on the ap section but receive a combo card.

Also, once everything goes well with your interview you will get greencard in short order..🙏🏽😀

  4. Hi, I have been silent for a while as not much has happened but this week we received email and online status update that 'new card is being produced' for EAD. The I-131 status has not updated however (advanced parole/travel document). I wonder if you think the EAD card will have both the Advanced Parole and EAD even though Advanced parole hasn't had any movement? Is it most common that the card is a combo card?

We also received notice that interview is scheduled. Online update + email and text mssg. Waiting for the letter to find out when the interview is.

Firstly, Did you file for AOS @GiselaMargareta ???  it doesn't seem as though you have so I'm curious.

    Secondly, to answer your questions

1 & 2. If his paperwork is with NVC then that means once you pay all fees and he does the interview (honestly cannot say how long this will take - it will still depend on his priority date AND the stockholm embassy...maybe look up the stockholm embassy wait times) You do not need to go with him but you can if you like. Keep in mind that him leaving can possibly trigger a ban if he is out of legal status and as you are not a US citizen, I don't think you can apply for a waiver so I do not advise this (I see on another post that you said he has an E2 visa, I'm not familiar so forgive me but in your post above you say that he doesn't have travel authorization)

3.this is not always the case. if he is approved, yes he will get the green card stamp in his passport.

This whole thing sounds like a catch 22 but if you have filed for AOS already then you need to contact NVC and let them know this. They will send his paperwork back to USCIS which will take a few weeks- months. Please let us know what you decide and also what your lawyer advises in this case, may help someone else down the line.

    Hello,

    1. @Tenreyro Yes, the I-130 was approved in April. We submitted the I-485, I-131, and I-765 after approval of I-130. It is a family based I-485.

    2. @Bfree3 My husband is currently in the USA on an E2 visa. We have applied for travel authorization as the E2 does not allow him to travel abroad while the green card is in process (he needs the I-131 approved to travel to not have abandoned his application). The receipt for the I-485 says 'Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status '. The USCIS office address is USCIS, National Benefits Center in MO.

    3. Biometrics were done in Boston a few weeks ago

    4. We are fine with him traveling to Stockholm, especially if it is faster but we don't want to risk it if that means they might think he abandoned his application.

We have a lawyer so we will ask her tomorrow but you are so knowledgeable that I wanted to ask here too. You two are amazing and much appreciated.

    Best wishes and thank you,

    Gisela

Hahahahahahaha, we would all be scared to use it, but in the end, if it's we have to, we have to. Hope everything continues smoothly.

I have not yet received the update to Ready for interview, my deadline is June 20th unfortunately, since it would be in the further extreme of the range I have seen. At that point I would make an Infopass.

Hi, I just received an email from NVC today that NVC has received our approved immigrant visa application for my husband. He did biometrics a few weeks ago. It included our case number, and instructions to pay the fees, and then next step is the interview. I feel this was pretty fast, isn't it? We live in Boston.

    A few questions:

    1. The letter says the interview will be at  the embassy in Stockholm which surprised me as my husband is in the USA. He can certainly do it in Stockholm but he doesn't have an approved I-131 Travel authorization. We are checking with our lawyer now. Anyone have any insight? And do I go with him to Stockholm as his sponsor?

    2. Anyone know how long it takes before one gets the interview date after having paid and submitted all forms? I realize it depends on WHERE the interview is but any information helps.

    3. I read that you find out directly that interview if you are approved or not. If approved, does that mean that he 'has the green card' (not physically but some version in his passport)?

I am not familiar with the process from now on and aminterested in any insight.

    Thank you!

  7. Hello, we submitted the I-131 for advanced parole and have receipt date April 24, 2018.

    Questions:

1/ Anyone else submit around that time or the months before that? I am curious to see who has gotten approvals.

2/ Our “USCIS Office” is the National Benefits Center (NBC) and we have filed a family-based Form I-485 and then it says we should check processing times for our local field office > we are in Boston. Does that mean we check the field office in Boston or the service center Vermont? I am guessing Boston but they don't list any processing times

Main purpose of this question is to 'meet' others who have submitted I-131 and are waiting so that I can get an idea of how long it might be.

    Thank you!

  8. We have sent in the I-485, I-765 and I-131 now (our lawyer sent them in). We have gotten the receipts for all 3 (got them in the mail May 4).

I want to look up the waiting time for especially the I-131 but I don't know which service center to pick? Our receipts say USCIS in Missouri (MO) at the bottom of the form (the I-797 notices for all 3 forms) but there is no such office listed in the dropdown at https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

Our I-130 approval letter says California at the bottom.

    Thank you!

I am also with October 2016 PD and nothing yet. I got to know from a FB group, that someone with September 15 has got NO2 and this was about 10 days ago. So, it seems September filers should soon get NO2s. Are there September filers with updates here?

Hi, do you have your approval now? We are priority date November 30, 2016 so I was curious? Today is March 22, 2018.

  10. @Tenreyro - Thank you for starting this topic. Feels good to be in company of others in same situation.

Will update you all as soon as we take some action on my husbands application. Have not decided yet if we will wait for the approval of the I-131.

My husband did his medical so we can include it when we apply. It is valid for one year and we sincerely hope that this will be completed within a year...

My husband and myself are from Sweden. Where are you all from?

    Thank you all.

    Congratulations @QAF2A !!!

I woke up to the same messages today, they just sent me 3 e-notification, and I can't wait to receive the physical one. I forgot to write the receipt numbers on the pages. They all went to the NBC, as expected for the kind of forms. After the receipt, we should be expecting for a biometrics appointment.

I'll create a topic and tag all the people have commented, so any applicant in a similar situation know there is a path.

    Hi @Tenreyro & @QAF2A,

    to confirm:

    1. You sent the I-485 with only I-130 RECEIPT, i.e. you didn't wait for the I-130 APPROVAL?

    2. Your I-485 is from marriage to a GREEN CARD holder, not a citizen?

    3. Did you create a separate topic for those in the same situation?

And because you got the receipt that they have received it, it seems like they have accepted your applications, otherwise they would have sent it back?

I am a green card holder and applying for my husband but we don't have the approval yet, but the date is current (Nov 30, 2016).

    THANK YOU!

We should! I'll create a post for all of us to keep in touch as soon as I get something from USCIS.

Actually, I was just checking other I-485 cases, and I think we won't be contacted by USCIS until around March  16-17th. I'll let you know.

Thank you so much for all your input and help. Please let us know if you start that topic for all with a PD in 2016 in F2A category.

Looking forward to hearing from you about how your application went and if they accepted it. Can't hurt to send it in I guess.

    Thank you!
