  1. How sad to hear your process, keep a positive mind and energy that soon you will be together... I know it is difficult to be away from our loved and Family, Mom case, took it to administrative processing and well that depends on them (embassy) when they want to review it and give it the go-ahead to continue with the visa printing.
  2. Yes, that could last for a certain amount of time, from two months to a year. It depends on the consulate and the official. The way things are going, I'd say it will take a while. I hope you get an appointment soon.
  3. Hi, @Josh B KMy case was in Colombia. Bogota I received my appointment for May 7. 2025, But they need an older birth certificate from my mom, and they gave me the yellow 221G form. They did receiving the documents I did sent. That was in the Consular area. The six steps was fine, but the consul wanted more documents. We're still waiting, they kept mom's passport too.
  4. I had my mother's IR5 residency interview, May 7, 2025.but her birth certificate was updated in 2023 to the new system and had a note from the notary that she the officer or consul, couldn't understand The mean, She wanted to verify if my mother had changed her name. She asked for an older birth certificate or a baptism certificate. Since we didn't have it at the time when she asked, she gave me the yellow section 221G sheet, asking for original documents and a passport. We already send at may 8, 2025. All the documents that she requested,The have the original documents and passport in the embassy Bogota. I have 4 questions. 1) Does anyone have a similar case? 2) She never marked me on the yellow paper, that I should upload them to CEAC, she didn't even say a mark. It was going through an administrative process. Do I have to do it the same way or do I not see that each case is different? 3) how long does that take? 4) Can I write to the embassy asking or not? I would be grateful for your response or comment. Have great day
  5. HI, sol how are you, me cases is similar I am applying for my mother's IR5 resident visa. My interview was on May 7th, 2025 bogta, and unfortunately they gave me the yellow paper 221G form, requesting an older certificate for my mother than the one I had sent is not enough, since in Colombia they are now making digital certificates and she the official, wanted a handwritten one old version, She told me to send me that document originap and the original passport, and we'll give you your answer. Mom handed it over 2 days later to where they take fingerprints, and well, they don't say anything but it goes to an administrative process, unfortunately we have to wait. It may take 8 to 10 weeks or more for the response to depend on the fact that the case is not reviewed by the same officer who conducted the interview, but by another. My recommendation is that you go to Colombian immigration with a copy of your husband's passport. You can apply for an extension of stay with the paperwork the embassy gave you when they received your case. Because if him exceed the days him would have to pay a fee in pesos. For exceed the number of days of stay
  6. In 1 or 2 days it will update, then in 3 or 4 days it update, that it was transferred to NVC, and then you receive the email with the case number and Invoice.

  8. I did receive me by email January 6, One day after they say me cases move to NVC.

  10. It's like a lottery, it depends on the officer who takes your case. Some work slowly, others work quickly. I think that has a lot to do with who takes your case.
