    Quite frankly, I've read your messages multiple times and I still don't understand whether your issue is the time it takes for an applicant to be deemed documentarily qualified, or the time it takes for an interview to be scheduled. There's a long wait - we're all aware. What's your point? That we should request to expedite? Many of us have.

    Thanks for all your responses. My i 130 will approve soon. Therefore i want to collect as much information as possible and get myself aware of any tactics that i can use while doing consular processing which may reduce DQ to Interview Date wait time at MTL. Because 4-5 months wait after DQ is bit depressing and shocking. So if any of you guys have done something to expedite and got succeed then i want to know as well as what were the excuses for such long wait NVC has provided to justify. Thanks 🙏🏾 again

    The lengthy wait time is likely due to a long queue at the consulate, not NVC. I don't think you fully understand the sponsorship process or what F2A current really means. If you believe something more can be done to speed up the interviews at the MTL consulate then you're more than welcome to figure it out.

    If you go in deep with your search even on visa journey itself. They have so many timelines for 2013-2014 when F2A was current last time. DQ to ID was barely 3-4 months max. I definitely understand entire process. I never said that long queue at NVC. You fully need to understand my previous messages. I said that i agree there should be a long wait at Montreal consulate for F2a applicants but so as many other consulates. Even consulates with high applicants flow then MTL e.g. Mumbai, manila amongst others. How come NVC is able to serve DQ F2A applicants within 2-3 months at other consulates and not at MTL. This is the myth.

    You can't say that we have NOT BEEN TRYING to expedite our interview dates. I have made several calls and letters to both NVC and Montreal embassy. Expediting interview dates is not an option for them. NVC responds a very vague answer to my request. They said that there is a queue awaiting for an interview appointments. Also, the Montreal embassy stated, during that time, that they only give away dates to the NVC and they are the ones who will fill up the available dates given to them. Each embassies are different.

    Long queue should have been interviewed already since F2A has been current for almost 7 months.

    So what can be done? From ur comments I understood that our target should be NVC only and not the embassy. We all @montreal applicants have to work out something. Definitely not going to wait for 5-6 months after DQ. I am watching another forums and i see manila embassy, ukraine and even mumbai interview F2A average from DQ to interview date is hardly 2 months.

    Hi guys, I started this thread to gather people on the same category as I do. Initially, I thought that there is only a few of us on the F2A category in Montreal, but surprisingly more people are joining the thread. That is why I always encourage those who are on a different category to start a forum to meet other applicant on the similar category.

    I am not an expert at this but to answer most of your questions, based on the sequence of timeline from all the threads that I follow and based on the members that we have on this thread, it seems like Montreal embassy is scheduling the interview dates based on the date the application was DOCUMENTARILY QUALIFIED not based on the Priority date. The average wait time from the time of the DQ to IL/ID is 8-9 months.

     It would be very helpful for all of us if you guys can update us after you received a notification for your interview dates. Please send me a message if you are on F2A category and will be interviewed at the Montreal embassy specifically. Thank you.

                                    DQ                             ID

    @Tss                      Dec 2018            Aug 30th

    @hakeemsyd         Jan 14th             Nov 18th

    @newday               Jan 24th             Nov ?

    @Matt2019           Feb 16th             Nov (mid)

    @PrinsesaVii (1)   April 4th              Dec 20th

    @PrinsesaVii (2)   April 12th

    @awoo                   May 14th

    @timtational          May 14th

    @Sean_2019          Aug 6th

    @rachel6992         Sept 20th

    @fcabrales            Nov 21st

    @Aram

    @Ronnie1989

    In that case, why all Above listed applicants not trying to expedite their interview dates because according to NVC protocol they say that interview will be scheduled between 30 to 90 days after DQ. F2A has been current for 7 consecutive months any consulate should have been able to clear any outstanding applications and interview wait times should be within 30 to 90 days. Even MUMBAI super busy consulate average timeline between DQ to ID is 3-5 months. Share your thoughts guys. This is indeed a great platform to help each other. Thanks 🙏🏾

  6. Please guys help me to understand. I have read all replies to this group. It seems like applications from different categories other then F2A also participating and commenting in this group. What is the latest interview PD at Montreal consulate. Average time from i 130 approve to interview date. I appreciate if full timeline is shared. Again i am looking for F2A strictly. Thanks a lot

    I found this article last month after doing some research on the topic. (delays with consular processing through Montreal)

    https://www.gands.com/knowledge-centre/blog-post/insights/2019/10/16/border-and-consular-updates-for-u.s.-fiscal-year-2019

    Interesting point can be found at the bottom:

    "The other key development that has been a significant burden are the delays with processing of permanent resident applications through the U.S. Consular Services.  We have been seeing delays via the National Service Center transfers of cases to the Immigrant Visa Unit at the U.S. consulate in Montreal.   Those delays can be between 3-5 months.  We hope to start to see those delays clear, but unfortunately there is very little insight available on the process and the cause of the delays.   Therefore, we have to continue to monitor. "

    Then we need to file requests or do something to make montreal consulate act faster. In other forums, in general trends NVC is acting in normal pace. Here they mention that NVC is sending cases late. Let’s get together and explore new windows to move fast with our F2A applications.

  8. Hello i have just joined this group at visa journey all helpers are doing excellent for each other. My wife (LPR) filed i130 unfortunately at CSC on Jan 8/2017. Didn’t receive anything except NOA1. Since we live seperate we don’t have anything in joint. We got married in court. Can someone throw a highlighter of all the steps including form names, total fees and which order. Also i am a Canadian PR( LIVING IN OTTAWA) as of now so which US EMBASSY i need to go? I think i should be able to use CEAC for all documentations right?
