  1. My case status says" As of August 15, 2019, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application." Does anyone know how long it's taking the washington dc uscis office to schedule an interview? Online it says the processing time for the I-485 is 9.5-20.5 months for the DC office.
  2. Did you end up using your AP? If so, how did it go for you/your husband? My husband just received his AP and we both really would love to be able to go back (we are really craving some tacos) but I am afraid of them not letting him back in. They tell you over and over in the paperwork that re-entry is NOT guaranteed.... so I'm a little apprehensive. I would love to wait for his green card, but god knows how long that will take. Any sharing of your experience would be greatly appreciated.
  3. My husband has filed jointly his I-485, I-765, and I-131 which were all mailed to Chicago, but the NOAs that I have received all have MSC Numbers and MO mailing addresses. I assume the I-765 is being processing in the NBC, but for the I-485, I'm trying to find the official processing times and the National Benefits Center is not an option in the drop-down menu. The nearest office listed in the drop-down menu would be the DC office, but I'm not sure that's correct. Any insight? On a related note, the processing times listed for the I-765 at the NBC is now 6.5-8.5 months, two weeks ago it said 5-7 months. We filed this technically Jan. 24, but again, I'm not sure if I'm looking at the correct service center. Anyone have any insight as to actual processing times for this? My husband needs a job!!
  4. I'm not sure if this is taboo here, but does anyone happen to have any statistics on denials? Here I can see the visas approved vs. visas pending, but that doesn't give me much information. Or does anyone have any horror stories? I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.......
  5. For us we had to log in after filling out the DS-160 and pay our fee then we could schedule it from available dates (the first of which was 4 months out). They never sent us a date. The instructions and such are very confusing.
  6. Yes. It took ours forever. We received our NOA2 June 4 and the first available date for an interview was October 29th.
  7. Hello all, I just received my NOA2!! (After an entire year) The letter says "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would now like them to forward the petition to a different consulate." On my NOA2 form it doesn't list the specific consulate (but I know it goes to Ciudad Juarez, Mexico) nor does it list a phone number (which I've googled and only get automated answering services). Has anyone else had their petition go straight to the consulate and bypass NVC? I'm trying to make sure they have an email address to send the instructions for how to apply directly to my fiancee.
  8. Can I ask what the final outcome was for you? I recently also received notice that they are sending a second RFE after having filed almost a year ago!! And I'm in the same boat, I have no idea what else they could want from me?!? Was it any faster is response to the second RFE reply? For me the first reply after my initial RFE was 60 days.
  9. The first was a request for more evidence that we had met in person in the two years preceding the filing. In the original filing, I had included numerous photos of the two of us in various places as well as a receipt for when I had gone to visit and documentation showing that I had lived in his country for 2.5 years before. In my response to the first RFE, I sent more photos with date, time, and location stamps, receipts from plane tickets and hotels we visited together to accompany the photos, passport stamps to show that I had gone to visit and that he had come to visit, as well as letters from friends that know the both of us.
  10. I'm still not sure. They sent me an email to tell me they are going to send me a letter....
  11. Has anyone else here received a second RFE? Filed June 2017 NOA1 received June 13, 2017 RFE1 received Feb. 26, 2018 RFE1 response received March 1, 2018 RFE2 sent today, May 16, 2018..... ..... this has been almost a year now. If anyone has any suggestions/insight/options to figure out why this is taking so long, anything is appreciated!
  12. Hi all! I petitioned for my K-1 visa in June of 2017, got the first RFE end of Feb 2018, sent my response (they were asking me to prove that we had met in person in the 2 years previously preceding the petition request), I since sent multiple inquiries. Today, I received notice that they are sending me (via snail mail, cause we are stuck in the 1980s apparently) another RFE. Has anyone had this happen to you? Is there any sort of timeline I can look to for them reviewing this? Is this bad news? Are there other options? (i.e. get married abroad then adjust status at the consulate?)
