    @adil-rafa thanks for the info🙏🏾

I did that with my assets and times by 5 if needed and we’re still over the requirements...

I’m just concerned if they won’t even consider it... with that being said, are assets to meet requirements not as efficient as joint sponsor?

(as I’m being hopeful they do... )

I live in the states alone with my children didn’t want to approach another person to add as joint sponsor if my assets would meet the requirements

NJ & RJ - Be cautious about relying on assets. We went through CDJ, and they would not even consider assets at my husband's interview. I don't work so I have no income, but we have way beyond the asset requirement. Our lawyer had warned us to have a joint sponsor lined up just in case, so everything went fine. I don't know anything about Haiti specifically. If you haven't already, I would discuss with someone very familiar with what they do and don't accept at the Haiti office.

Best of luck to you and your family....

  2. Hello!

I am looking for a recommendation for a trustworthy immigration attorney, preferably in South Texas.

My sister-in-law is a Mexican citizen with a valid Border Crosser card, and wants to start a business in Texas with a US citizen friend who lives in Texas. She does not want to actually move full time to the US. We realize she cannot work on her current visa.

She has never had any immigration issues, and will only proceed according to the law, no short cuts….

Does anyone have a recommendation for a lawyer that specializes in this type of case?

Is this even possible? If so, what visa would apply?

    Thank you!

  3. Hi everyone!

When you receive your checklist from the NVC, there should be specifics in it about the police certificate.

My husband's said he needed a certificate from every Mexican state he lived in for more than 6 months over the age of 18.

If any state is not available, you need to get a Federal version from Mexico City.

Every state is different; FYI Nuevo León was difficult to get, but we got it.

And you definitely need them at CDJ; it was one of the few things they actually asked for at the interview.

    Good Luck!

  4. Hi nuggets - I never post in forums, but my husband is in a similar situation - waiting since Weds.

When he did his fingerprints, they gave him a white paper with 2 phone numbers, and an explanation of which numbers to choose from the menus in order to get a person. I have been calling the Juarez number a few times a day. We still don’t have a tracking number either, but you can get a person to talk to.
