No the senator can’t make things faster. He can only inquire the status on your behalf.
Look up expedite I-485 on USCIS website. You have to write a letter stating why you are in need to have it expedited and attach all proof of your reasons. You can then either mail this to your field office or make Infopass appointment and bring it to them in person and have them look it over to make a decision.
Thank you, I'll try, but I've been already in info pass. Maybe, this time I'll be more lucky. Is there a form to fill in website?

Strange! NY processing times say that as of December 31st 2017 they have adjudicated I-485 up to February 20th 2017. Have you tried a request to expedite?
How to make this request? Apply for help of the senator?

What’s your local field office? There are certain field offices on the East and West Coast that have I-485 processing times of 10-12 months. If your case is past the processing times posted of your field office, you can make an Infopass appointment and inquire.
Hi, thank you for the answer, my local office - new york, i've been to infopass, they did not say me nothing but wait, we'll make a decision. Make new EAD, AP whatever, but we cant do nothing.

Hi everybody. I wish all of you get approve on your i-360, but unfortunately when you'll get it, it will not be the end of the story. Then you will have to wait another year or more to get interview.
My case was approved in February 17, after requests of my lawyer and info pass we found out that my i-485 is in my local office. It was in October 17. We send a new medical records, as they asked and since that - silence.
So now it's 1 year after they approved my vava, and i'm still waiting. Went to Info pass. sent letters, my lawyer called them, the answer is: wait till we schedule interview. Not earlier than in April we'll make a decision". When it really will happen - who knows? i applied for new EAD and AP, but now it will take 5-6 months, so I can lose my job, all my id's expired and I cant renew them, because don't have even receipts for EAD and AP.
But in uscis they don't care about such "little" things, don't think about people.
Anyway getting approved i-360 - it's a big success, but only half of the way.

She didn't have to inform USCIS that he passed away if the officer did not ask anything about him.

Asking for my friend, a lady I got acquainted 2 years ago, she also went through abused nightmare, and we exchanged our bad "experience", her case was approved year ago and she'll have an interview in 2 weeks. While her case for vawa was pending, she knew that her husband died (overdose), she got news from their friend, her lawyer did not recommend to inform im office at that time. Then the case was approved.
So, Will it be a problem on interview, could they ask her why she did not say about it earlier?

The interview and procedures did not change. I had people who had the GC issued after interview and 2 others without interview, one case was in Nov 2017 and another one January 2018.
Thank you, Sandranj, and if you dont mind, please, answer me another questions: in which cases they dont give interview, could they deny GC on interview and why and how much time after the interview they send GC? Thank you in advance

Hi, I'm new here. My I-360 case was approved on February 17, and I got an approval letter in the end of April 17. Then my I-485 was reopened and after some letters and calls to uscis they asked me to send an updated medical record papers, which my lawyer sent them in October 11. After that time - whole silence. I wrote them letters, my lawyer and me - separately - had appointments with immigr. officers. I know that from August 17 they made a new regulation to provide interview for every body. Before those interview were formal, but how they are now? Are there anybody that had an experience with such an interview for I-485 with approved I-360 form int the last 6 months? Can you share your experience, please. What did they ask and how it went? Did you change the attitude?
Thank you in advance

For NICOLA2017
Check up if your case is available for 180 day automatic extension for EAD. This new regulation works from January 2017 . If you are eligible take your receipt and copy of the article I mentioned and show to your manager.

Thank you, iwillsurvive. I'll try again. In February 6 I brought them a big letter with all my reasons, signed by notary, they did not want to take it. I asked them to take it anyway, but the girl I talked to told me that they don't have to answer my letter. Is it weird? Or maybe I'm so unhappy, after all this nightmare of my marriage and hard vava time, I'm still not sure what will happen with me. But thank you anyway
