So if I got the c31 does that mean my vawa is approved!!!!!!?????
Suppose to be so, but what your lawyer told you?

That is correct lol but she said to just use 1 but looking at the cards one says category c09 and the other c31 can anyone tell me what does it mean ??
EAD with c09 you get when you've already filed for I-485, with c31 only after your vawa case was approved, with c09 you could get ead faster, check the dates on both cards and you'll see the difference, maybe your lawyer got the first - with c09 - earlier and did not inform you.

I’m in the same boat.
They sent me a letter telling me that my case is currently pending adjudication.
Do you know what’s it mean?
In my opinion it only means that the officer who works with your case is too lazy, I think that the number of applicants is the same, why processing times become longer and longer? Because they use trumps new regulations and get advantages - work slower and make the process as much more inconvenient as they can. I had interview almost month ago, but they don't have any information that I've already attended interview. Some people are more lucky and their cases keep more decent officers, that's the answer. You have to apply for help of your congressman office, come there in person, bring all concerning your case papers and write a letter, describing the whole situation. Wish you'll get info in 2-3 weeks. My congressman office helped me.

Morning guys,
My EAD expires in December 2018, how soon can I file for a new one, under what category (I have done my GC interview and awaiting approval), what documents must i provide when filing. Thanks y'all for ur assistance.
Hi, I would suggest you to apply in July, not late, cause now it takes 5-6 months, and processing time becomes longer and longer (for no reason by the way, cause it's the same number of applicants!) imm officers only take advantage on the situation and work slower and slower

Hi, friends,
I had interview this April and got a letter - case under review.
After almost month waiting for approval or at least rfe, did not get nothing and called 1800 phone number.
They have not even heard about my interview, could not provide me any information,
the only info they have from 2016! Like in the woods!
I guess, what kind of people work there and what they are doing?

Now stuck with everything... cannot go to job..
Hi, dont think that you re the most unlucky, it's very hard process and most of us fighting for ourselves for years
and nothing goes easy-squeezy. So be strong.
Now , there are a lot of nonprofit organizations that can help you for free or very little money. Google them in your area, see this link, it may help you. https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/do-i-need-an-immigration-lawyer-for-help-filing-a-vawa-case.html
Also, look for catholic charities that offer free immigration consultations, and organizations that offer free legal advice. They can at least give you a good consulting

I wouldn’t wait. I would contact the doctor now and then make an InfoPass appointment at the same field office where you had your interview and hand them the sealed envelope with an original medical exam in person, so that they can approve you right there.
Thank you again

I would ask the doctor to give you another medical report. Don’t use a copy. It has to be the original sealed by the doctor. If the doctor can’t give you another original you might have to do medical again.
Go to InfoPass and hand it in in person once you have it.
Thank you, iwillsurvive, but how long to wait till the letter from uscis? Or you mean to go to infopass before I'll get a letter from them?

Hi, friends,
I had my interview last week, everything was OK, but in the end officer asked me for my updated medical report. My lawyer sent it in October 2017,
I've been to infopasses, asked them if they got my medical, they never asked me for the new one. But in the interview It turned out that officer did not find my report, and gave me letter about reviewing. I had a copy but officer refused to take it, said it suppose to be in sealed envelope.
I dont know for sure if my lawyer really sent it to uscis, she told that she did, or they lost my medical report in uscis, they will never confess.
Who knows how much time it can take to get the answer from uscis and may I use copy of my medical - I made it in October, put in a sealed envelope and send to them?

Interview went ok . IO just ask basic questions when I get married, for how long we date before marriage and how long we stay together after marriage. When I enter USA . When we married, if I divorce or no . And yes or no questions from i485 . Than she ask for medical which I didn’t have it . In end she said she need couple days to review my case .
Hi, Rookieden, did your imm officer give you a letter, that they can ask for your medical records? Did you send them your medical? Im asking because on my interview they did not find my records, though we sent them records, and told that will review. Did you get your GC so far?

Hi, survivor1, my great congrats! Enjoy your travel, good luck for everything!

hi, I am putting my documents together to file a vawa application. I had a panic attack that landed me in emergency and then I was referred for marriage counseling. Should I just submit a print out of the doctors notes who saw me during my visit or should I go back to the doctor who saw me and tell him to give me a medical report for immigration. I don't know exactly how it works. I look forward to getting an answer. thank you all and great job you all are doing on here.
I would rather go and ask a report, but anyway, collect every single paper, concerned your case - dont rush up, it took me 8 months to gather all docs together and send them for vawa. Do you have and order of protection? If no, go to family court and ask for it, you have to be safe in your situation.

Only few words for ms Sandra.
Thank you very much. It's my big pleasure to say you this again and again. I found this site a little bit late, otherwise I would not do so many mistakes.
And all this because of Sandra's advice.
Do you understand what a great job she makes answering the same, sometimes so stupid questions again and again, year by year, month by month and week by week, and she does it for free, only trying to help people.
Sandra was not somebodies personal lawyer, but only adviser, so how could you accuse her? My lawyer whom I paid thousands of dollars made a huge mistake, after what I lost my job. And she did not want even to admit her guilt. I cant count things I understood and did in right direction after started learning this site and mostly due to ms Sandra.
Some people are so ungrateful and unthankful.
It would be fair from ms Sandra's side not to respond to your questions at all. In my opinion, we all can lose a great opportunity to get a right consulting from the professional. Think about it.

Hello family, did anybody here receive rfe for bonafide marriage? My lawyer received it but I didn’t know why he wouldn’t send it to me, I have to wait for two weeks. I really don’t understand. I sent a lot of documents during application and I don’t know if they didn’t send them. I would like to see rfe myself just to know what they specially ask. If anyone have received, can you please share with me what they request.
This are the things I submitted,
joint bank account
health and life insurance
afidavity from his family, friends
pictures-a lot of them
marriage licence
we bought car together
joint lease
both id’s with the same address.
thank you in advance for your help. God blessing.
Hi there, I also sent letters and magazines for my spouse we got on our address, postcards from relatives and friends we got on our wedding party, pictures from our wedding album, copies of receipts (we booked hotel ).

From what I’m reading, it’s safe to assume that it will be the background check from places you lived before coming to the states (if you weren’t here for 3 years yet, before you filed vawa); or all the places you’ve lived in here. Is he certain it’s “bonafide marriage”? Well, if it comes and you need help, you know you have a family here you can depend on to assist you with it.

Hi, its really very different. In NY they did not want even to talk. I talked to supervisor and wrote them - nothing helped. By the way, did you know, if you would have to pay again for Dr Lic, when you'll go to change it to permanent one? thank you

Hi Veronica,
This is just my personal thoughts on this.. That interview is crucial. I think no amount is big enough for the amount of benefits you will get if you are approved. I wouldn't put the process in danger on the final round. We don't know the law so it's always helpful to have someone that does by our side, defending our rights. There are many lawyer that accept payment plans. If you don't feel comfortable with your lawyer don't rest until you find one you do.
Best of luck for you!!!
Hi again, if I'm right you had an interview not long ago. Can I ask you, how it went? Hope you got a decision?

Congrats! You got interview so fast! I waited 13 months and only with help of congressman got invitation. And why did I wait too long? Because they lost my updated medical records, which we sent in October 2017. I made info passes, called, made inquiry, my lawyer made a request with trekking number and signature of the clerk of uscis, who received it. but in wain, they never informed that they don't have them. On the interview officer asked me only if i divorced, if i work, everything went good, she did not ask any other document, but then she asked about medical records, (like she already knew that she will not find them!) of course, she did not find medical submission, refused to take a copy which i had, and said "she will review"/ Reviewed till now, because papers were lost. but they will never confess. So my advice, check everything you will take - all the papers, even if they did not ask make medical records, take originals and copies. Now they try to find any small issue in order not to approve cases on spot, they got bonuses for every rfe, so be prepared.
