  1. Bah. Middle of the summer. WAY too hot and far too crowded a time to visit Myrtle Beach. Can you tell I don't like going? lol

Holy #######.. sorry to hear that you go mid-summer.. that is horrible... spent an august in MB a while back - it was disgusting..

  2. Hotel reservations, of course, thank you Wyatt's! HeatDeath, good point about them bringing my fiance's personal belongings. I don't think they will be since he'll already be here, but good to keep in mind. Thank you all for the reassurance! :)

Kukolka! Congrads... I'm in CT too, so feel free to ask away with the questions if you like!!

We didn't have CDN guests in for the wedding but I agree with the rest of the thread... they will most likely be considered tourists.

  3. GASP I didnt know I can insist for a tracking number. The person said I couldnt do it and wont give me a tracking number too.

Hope your package doesnt get lose Emancipation.

    ha ha..

Thanks.. that's not exactly the reassurance I was looking for... *sigh..

I should have sent it via Fed Ex.. I KNEW I should have :)

Can you see Passport application status via the service canada acct?

  4. I believe you can track USPS until it crosses the border. Then go on to the Canada Post, and enter the same tracking number..it will still work..

At least it did for me last year when I was waiting for all that important info from Tim for my interview.

Bah.. they wouldn't do it for me this am...

I hate my post office..

  5. Hiya everyone!! :) Just sent off the CDN passport renewal..

USPS can't track to Canada? Please someone reassure me and tell me USPS isn't going to lose my passport, birth certificate and marriage cert.

    Bah..

  6. I'm doing it for the step kids.. that is all.

The money (should there be any) in the event of something happening to my DH will not be taxed to death ( I've read that perm. residents are taxed at a higher rate).. and therefore once the bills are paid there will be more to give to the kids..

    That's it.. My only reason.

Oh and to stick it to the man (aka USELESS- USCIS)

  7. dito on the mom & pop camera store... for here in the US - found one very close by that will do them.

I actually got my photos done in Canada in July when I was home.. they are good for a year and less drama that way.

  8. Happy New Year everyone...

sorry i was MIA last night.. was oout at a party..

did a puzzle today.. other than that.. not much else.. need to go to bed now..

All the best for everyone for 2010! :star:

  9. I had the strangest re-entry last week too. lol. We went through Customs after disembarking and the officer told me that it's much easier for me to come into the country as a Canadian than as a Permanent Resident. I mean he went on and on about it like I knew nothing about the process. He said all I had to do as a Canadian was show him my passport and he would automatically let me in for six months. He obviously hasn't worked at the Canadian land border. lol

    Strangeness...

the guy at our CDN crossing took my passport and said.. oh born in the confederation province.. betcha you are proud of that one.. (I'm looking at him strangely and DH is nodding).. yep REAL proud I'd say (the officer says).. then he totally switches to french looks at me and says "parlez vous le francais".. to which DH is shaking his head no.. and I'm going "un petit per".. The guy seemed satisfied enough that i WAS canadian, gave us back our passports and shooed us on..

    Strange..

DH said when we were safely on CDN soil "shucks... we coulda brought all the guns & pepper spray we wanted" (the ONE question he didn't ask us!!) :)

  10. well all.. back after a nice trip home...

had 2 very easy & very strange border crossings- I swear it gets easier each time we travel. :) the CDN's seriously asked me if I 'parlez vous le francais' when I arrived at the border crossing.. and the US side didn't ask to see ANY gifts in the trunk.. nada.. never even asked us if we had beers? strangeness..

Hope everyone had a great holiday!!

    :)

  11. Good morning all.

You know working at a country club during the holiday season makes me ask this one big question:

What the hell do gold diggers do for their spouses on Christmas?

One just walked out telling me she bought her sugardaddy husband a new golf bag and some shirts.

Err with his credit card obviously right? So he's like buying himself that stuff.

Just one of the very many thoughts that plague my mind.

OOOOOOOH man.. i have a GREAT golddigger story...

Ex-boss's wife (from Canada).. left him when he went bankrupt to go live with the ex-wife of his former investor.. she couldn't take the "stress" of the bankruptcy.. she now lives in the Hamptons... Not bad not bad...

  12. No but that would have been funny! right?

Haha I wouldn't have minded so much to be honest.

I'd take him to the court house tomorrow if he'd let me. :)

    :luv: awe......
