what DMV location you went to and how long was you in line?

what 2 proofs of CAlifornia addresses you presented to apply for the real ID?

I am waiting for SSN card, did you need to present both green card and SSN card at DMV?

Hello! CONGRATULATIONS! Their Social came 1 week after they arrived. Go to your neareast SS office and they can check it for you, my moms gc came after 120 days, still waiting for my dads gc. Hes only been here  2 months.

    Thanks for replying vspink94.

I called SSA and because my parent came 10 days before Christmas so I have to wait for another week due to holiday delay. Hopefully, I will get the card in the mail soon.

Your information is very helpful. Was you able to get ID for your parents?

I live in Orange County, and the system not allow me to even book online appointment to go DMV for ID. The situation is very frustrating.

    Question for NVC stage?

What documents do I need to have and also are we downloading these things electronically? Are we seeing faster processing because it is being uploaded electronically than in the past?

+ When you get the email about from NVC after uscis transfer your case over to NVC, you can do these things

    1. Pay fees

    2. Fill in and submit DS260

    3. Collect all the required documents and upload. These documents includes:

    a. Financial Documents (your IRS transcript 2018, 2017, 2016 AND your I-864 form - you have to fill in, then print out and SIGN then scan to pdf file and upload; and supporting documents like w2 pay stubs, letter from your company, etc.)

    b. Civil documents from YOU and YOUR MOM

    - From YOU: birth certificate, marriage and divorce certificate,  passport, US naturalization certificate, etc.

    - From your MOM: your mom birth certificate, her marriage / divorce certificate, passport, passport photos, police report, etc.

all documents need to be translated to english.

POLICE REPORT : you need to go to state website for clearer instruction relevant to your country

    https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-5-collect-supporting-documents.html

  5. RE: Document re-submit.

I got my mother's passport rejected with reason for its being scanned vertical on 8/7/19.

I re-submitted same day with horizontal image.

    1st submission 7/5/19

reject notice 8/7/19, resubmit same date, 1 document, rescan so that words appear horizontal

    Accept Notice 9/19/19

NOw i am waiting for the interview date.

PLease be careful with your document as it took me 5 more weeks to get my 1 document resubmission approved.

  6. hi

My Submission took 4 weeks to get a reply from NVC, all are good except that I have my mother's passport bio page scanned but not in a horizontally text readable.

they sent me a message in my portal to ask me to replace the document.

I replaced the document 08/07/19 and till not hearing from the agent who review it yet.

I need to get all scanned document Accepted before they can schedule the interview.

Yet I replaced the document same day I got their message and still not hearing from them for Approval.

Now Trump just came out with the "public charge rule" which is confusing because for sponsors who have parents oversea, majority of them are retirees with no active incomes

I am hoping to get to see my document Accepted soon and to receive an interview date to be finish this journal.

Hoping for the best to all of us here too.

    hi vspink,

im still waiting to get the i-130 approved.

it will be 6 months waiting on 03/21/19, so I am expecting the news right now.

I have some questions I would like to ask:

Do you get another case number when it reaches NVC?

I pay about $500 for submitting I-130, what would be the other fees and how much are those until the case is complete and parents get visa to the U.S.?

    thanks in advance.

--My Application has been approved!! 🙏

Priority date June 29, 2018, TSC

    Hi vspink94,

I remembered seeing you applying for your naturalization a few months ahead of me and we are both applying i-130 for parents right after the naturalization. How exciting!

I also live in California, my I-130 has the priority date of 09/21/18, it was routed to Texas Service Center since I live in California.

Was yours processed at texas service center too?

I am so nervous right now and hopefully i will get the NOA2 in march, 2019 which is approximately 6 months after submitting the petition like yours.

    Any advice?

    Thanks in advance.

  12. hi all,

I am a September 2018 filer for my mother, ir-5.

    priority date 09/21/18.

still waiting on the good news of getting approved from Texas Service Center.

I did not know that Potomac would process quicker.

However, they did not let us choose where our case will be routed to.

I mailed my package to Arizona lockbox and kept thinking that was the center that processing my case.

I was tracking other cases and typically an ir-5 will be approved at the sixth month, and the whole process till parents get a visa is 12 months.

    Is that right guys?

    hi all,

Above is my updated timeline. Didn't want to insert mine in case i messed up the format.

if the admin can, please help with the updatin.

My journey completed with my oath ceremony on 09/18/18 at 8am.

I had to travel early morning from OC to LA Convention Center but it was worth it all the way.

My timeline was pretty much 365 days from application to oath taking. I asked a friend at the convention and he said he applied online LA county and  it took him 8 months.

I wish there was option to expedite the process because waiting 12 months is suffocating and frustrating at the same time.

Now Im on another journey with form I-130 which will also take another 12 months.

There is nothing i can do to speed it up so I will be patiently waiting one more time.

    Thanks all for helpful responses.

I disagree. I had pending I-751 when I was called for my N-400 interview. My IO processed that before even beginning with N-400 questions. I got the Congratulations, I recommend you for approval notice on the spot as well as my Oath ceremony notice.

Everyone is different, situations are different, outcomes will also differ.

    Hi,

    That's awesome.

So on your interview day, you got Recommendation for Approval while your I-751 was still pending?

May I ask what your field office is?

The officer interviewing me he said that he would need to order the other case of mine(I-90) which was still open  and he had to review it before the decision could be made.

Thats why i was waiting for another 3 weeks.

  15. 15 minutes ago, Newbie608 said:

Not always. I was interviewed on 7/30 and the “ decision cannot be made” box was checked and I have no open case,  and also filed under the 5 yrs of being a LPR.

    hi Newbie608,

Right, I said If anyone has any opened cases, then I don't think they will be approved on the same day.

If you have no opened case and got "decision can't be made", it would be something on your application that triggers extra review or extra evidence.

  16. hi all,

I got my Oath scheduled and will receive the letter within a few days.

I interviewed on 08/07, so it would be 1 month waiting for this Oath notification after I received a decision could not be made.

I am thrilled and happy as I am about to see the light at the end of this tunnel.

    Advice:

If you have any other opened cases before n400 interview, you will receive "a decision can't be made."

Until you close the case or the case being processed, you won't be approved on the spot.

  18. hi all,

I had my interview yesterday at Santa Ana and would like to share my experience though the decision is still pending I want to stay in the positive side and wait for the good news, hopefully.

My interview was at 1pm, I got there at 12:30, parking, going through security.

It took me 10 mins to reach to the waiting room.

I was called in at around 1:10.

He asked for my ID, Green card, he photocopied them and showed me to his office.

I had to swear before sitting down.

I saw the thick, book alike file he was going through on his desk that containing all my applications.

he asked if I am married-yes, If we have children together-yes

he started testing my writing, reading, then 6 questions.

    I did all fine.

Then he went through my n400 application, I filed under 3 years rule.

His questions: how I met my husband, how many children we have, how many time each of us married before, on what visa I came to u.s.

When he went through my school he asked me who supporting me while I was in school.

He verified my employment, my address history.

I was missing on address and would like to add in but he said It was okay.

He also asked for my son’s birth certificate, he did not want my 2017 tax transcript, or any other proofs.

I did gave my photos for name changing.

I asked him whether name change would delay the process, he said no.

He said in the beginning that he won’t be able to approve me today because I have a file that he need to request and go through.

I ask what file, he said don’t know.

But he said maybe the i-90 replacement of green card.

I file to replace green card, had to file motion to reopen because I got denied.

Then I was afraid that the appeal would take long, I file a second replacement application for my green card, got approved and got the card.

After I got the card, I got a termination on my Appeal, they stated the reason as I was issue another green card.

    So everything was fine.

Then they sent another letter after that termination letter saying they were re-open my case for appeal.

It was strange so I did not do any thin further.

I guess I am supposed to withdraw the appeal before my interview.

Hi, guys! Had my interview for ROC and naturalization. It lasted one and a half hours. With about 30 minutes wait before that. At the end, the officer said that another person will need to review what he put together for the I751 after interviewing me, but he said he'll recommend both my cases for approval and that he thinks I'll be a citizen by the end of the month.

He only asked me six Civics questions since I answered all correctly. Also, I had to read: "Who elects congress?" And then write down the answer: "The people elect the congress." He also went through all the "yes or no" questions with me. Like have you ever been a terrorist and such. He spent most of the hour and a half asking questions about my relationship. How I met my husband, when the courtship began, how often we saw each other, when he proposed, when we got married, on what visa I came to the US. He asked me about my work and my husband's work. I handed him my marriage certificate, updated statements from all our joint accounts, latest tax returns from 2017 and our mortgage statement and grant deed. He did say "You don't have children together, but you have all your financials and mortgage together." Based on that he approved me. I had lots of other proof with me such as pictures, and joint car purchase and rentals, vacation tickets, but he didn't ask for those.

He also talked about the timeline of where we lived together and where I have lived before coming here.

Since we purchased a house, I had to request a change of address on both my ROC and my naturalization apps. When I changed my address, they confirmed in an email and they also stated in that email that both my apps will be adjudicated together. He asked me to see that email and he forwarded it to himself. It seems like he wanted written proof that he is supposed to review both cases in the interview.

My husband was there with me, but he was not interviewed. He just waited for me outside. He was not called in.

Best of luck, everybody! Almost there!

    hi Calikitkat,

    congrats on your approval.

mine is next week and it will be at Santa Ana too.

I'm so nervous right now as it comes close to the date. From parking to the waiting room, how long did it take?

Would you please also let me know what original paperwork were asked to submit at your interview? Thanks ahead.
