  1. I had my interview on 14th Jan and was given 221g. On 25th I received an email to submit additional document for processing. I submitted the documents on 28th Feb. Its almost 6 weeks now and I haven’t received any updates on my case. I was on vacation for 3 weeks and I am stuck here for almost 3 months now.

Can I apply for B2 visa and go to USA to settle my things (apartment, car , etc) and come back? What are the chances of visa approval with this admin processing going on?
I am paying rent even though I am not staying and no salary. It’s very tuff situation. Are the consulate really overwhelmed or just creating nuisance for IT folks from Indian subcontinent??

    Any suggestions is highly appreciated.

    thanks

  2. Dear Friends,

Me and my wife are Nepalese citizen and holds Nepalese passport. We were in USA for 4 years and had a child, who is an American citizen and holds American Passport. We came to Nepal recently and had to get 90 days tourist visa for our child at TIA. We are planning to stay longer in Nepal due to some family Emmergency. Is there any process to get long term multiple entry Nepal visa for my child?

If you are familiar with any such process, please do share the details. Your help is much appreciated.

    thanks

    What ministry?

Are you asking what do you need to enter the US on a valid H1B visa? I would print your last pay stub or ask your boss for a quick letter saying you are currently employed. They probably won't ask, but it's good to have.

You also need to check the vaccine or negative test requirements. I don't know about policies but there are some.

If you travel to USA from Nepal on H1B, you will have to take "employment permission" from the government of Nepal.

  4. Hi folks,

I am from Nepal and hold Nepalese passport. I have been working in USA for about 4 years now. I had my first US consulate interview in India and flew from there as I was working in India.

I have valid visa stamped. And i am going to fly from Nepal for the first time.

Can you please let me know what are any other documentation required to fly from Nepal if any?

I heard we need to get permission from some ministry and all. If anyone has an experience , can you please share the details.

    Thanks!

    Few options for your child:

    1.  Just get the Tourist visa on arrival at KTM airport.($30 for 15 days, $50 for a month and $125 for 90 days)

    2. For long vacation, get 15 days Tourist visa for $30, then later on go to Dept of Immigration near Putalisadak to get Relationship Visa at cost of $10 per month for up to a year, way cheaper than tourist visa.

    3. If you and the child will be making frequent trips, get 5 year Multiple entry tourist visa for $160.

    4. Not sure if they issue NRN ID for children to be able to travel to Nepal with free visa.

Thanks for the helpful tips @arken. This helps a lot.

Yes, In India they have something called PIO (Person of Indian Origin) Card . They are valid for 5 years.
I have also dropped an inquiry to Nepali Consulate . Let's see what they suggest.

  6. Hi All,

Not sure, if have tagged this to correct section on this forum.

Me and my spouse are non-immigrant here in USA and holds Nepalese Passport. Our child was born here in USA and holds US Passport.

What is the procedure/documents needed if our child wants to travel to Nepal for Vacation with us. He is still a minor.

Any pointers will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks

  7. My spouse attended and VO said they will issue a visa.
    Experience Details:
Got PP and DS-160 and appointment details verified at entrance.

Was asked to go for photo and finger print directly.

Once the finger print was done, was asked to go to the next counter and showed all the documents.

After the document verification was over, was asked to attend interview.

During the interview was asked to show few documents and asked few questions.

The interview was short as my kid started snatching the papers from my spouse hand and wasn't stopping.

Was asked to collect the PP after 5 working days.

Overall , it was excellent experience. Kathmandu embassy is so good and organized overall.

  9. Hi Folks!!

I am in US (on H1B) from past 10 Months and got an extension for next 3 Years. My wife could't travel along with me as we were expecting a baby. Now she is all good and my baby is also 10 months old. they are planning to attend h4 at Kathmandu consulate.

She did most of her studies in Nepali medium and is hesitant of speaking / understanding English. Although i have sent all-the required documents and handed out possible questions and and trained her how to answer them, can anyone let me known their experience?? When i booked appointment , i could not find the language preference for interview.
