Congrats! Just would like to ask what kind of tax return refund evidence are they looking for? What did you send them back?

    Thanks.

They ask for a tax receipt from the IRS but I sent the prepared return and bank statement showing the refund from the IRS proving that the return was accepted.

Did you send them statements for the entire marriage?

I have 4 different types of accounts if I print statements for all of them I will hurry them in paper.

We only have one account so I sent them 3years of statement for entire marriage. I also had to send them other evidence that required lots of paper. I felt like I killed 100 trees to provide them with their request. I felt a bit violated to be honest. All our personal information in their hands. I hope it's enough

I received an RFE yesterday. I apparently only sent the last month statement for our joint accounts and they want the statements for all our marriage. We have since purchased a house, are expecting our first child and filed taxes for 2016...

We sent so much more evidence though, I'm so dissapointed.

I also received RFE. I was very disappointed as well. I also sent last month statement as well but apparently it wasn't enough despite all the other evidence I sent. I mailed off response already. Now the wait continues.

On a separate note, I am planning to travel home for a personal emergency for 2 weeks.

My conditional G.C expired on 4/27/2017, that's what it says on the conditional GC.

    1. Do you guys think, I should be good and not have any problems traveling?

    2. I will be taking my one year extension letter with me. This letter extends our resident status for one year beyond our conditional green card.

In my case that would be 4/27/2018 correct?

    3. My passport expires in 2024.

Do I need to stamp it for anything before I travel?

    Really appreciate all your help.

    regards

    Steve

Hi Steve! You will be fine with letter and expired GC. My GC expired 4/17. I went to get stamp on Aug 15, 2017 because I was traveling in Nov 2017. The officer took my GC and stamp my passport with 1 year extension from that August date. The night before my trip, I was looking at passport and realized that he wrote that it would expire Aug 14, 2017. I was freaking out. I called the airport to be connected to immigration. They said be sure to take the letter. So all i had was the letter and the stamp with the obvious error of expiration date. I did not have any trouble getting back. I also checked with the airline as well, but they can't deny entry. Hope that helped.

    Hi Maite & Osmar,

We actually got our approval letter yesterday after I wrote this!  In the RFE, they asked for our taxes, affidavits from people we know, official documents showing the spouse as the beneficiary and any joint bills.  In my original application I did not include any of our taxes, which was totally my fault.  I hadn't completed 2016 taxes yet and just thought I was submitting enough other evidence that I didn't need to include previous years either.  So in my RFE submittal I gave them 3 years of taxes, our current lease, documents from our jobs showing the other as the beneficiary and two affidavits (along with some other random documents/bills showing both of our names).

I also checked our online case status yesterday and it still only showed the fee waiver message and didn't even say anything about the RFE.  I think if you are a VSC filer then hopefully you will hear something in the next few days/weeks.  Oh, one last thing, on the case status, it said if I hadn't received anything by February 9th to contact them.  So you can check your online status and if you don't hear anything in the next few weeks, then you can definitely inquire and hopefully get an answer quickly!  Hang in there and I hope you hear something soon!

Hi tcgator! How soon did they send NOA after submitting your RRE response? Congratulations!
