  1. So basically. You will need to get a new birth certificate issued from NADRA. Secondly you will need to make sure the dates on your NADRA divorce certificate match the dates of the Union Council divorce decree(stamped ruppee paper) stating the reason for divorce and attested by a lawyer. They will ask for you to submit your divorce decree, divorce certificate at NVC. You need to make sure all the dates on the union Council divorce decree match the dates on the final NADRA certificate.

  2. Members!!!! could you please assist. What are my options on the below:

I submitted my DS-260 but not the rest of my docs. I had to put in alot of addresses as Ive moved around alot. And in the process I forgot to put one of my addresses in Malaysia. I was there from 2007-2008. I realized after submitting my DS260. I still need to submit the rest of my financial docs and supporting docs (marriage cert. etc...). Is there anything I can do?

  3. Dear fellow Pakistani members. I had a question for members who had been previously divorced and are filing for CR-1 with new spouse.

WHAT DIVORCE DOCUMENTS DID THE EMBASSY ASK YOU FOR?

AS FAR AS I KNOW THERE IS THE INITIAL DIVORCE AFFIVADIT WHICH IS PRINTED ON "RUPPEE PAPER" & THERE IS THE NADRA DIVORCE CERTIFICATE. IS THAT IT? OR ARE THERE ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS REQUIRED? I AM AT NVC STAGE AND NEED TO SUBMIT MY DIVORCE DOCUMENTS. NOT SURE WHAT TO SUBMIT.

Congrats! Has your status on website changed from “i130 is approved” to “case was sent to the department state of visa center”? Thanks!

    Yes it says :

On March 25, 2019, we sent your case to the Department of State for visa processing. You can find general information on Consular Processing by visiting our website at www.uscis.gov

The priority date to call for Texas shifted?

My priority date is August 10.

As of Yesterday, the priority date to call for inquiry was July 17. This shifted to June 10.

I guess this is more bad news to recent filer than me. But it's not good for anyone.

Anyone w Texas Service center getting lucky?

Hi yes. We had out I-130 approved on March 25th and it was sent to the state dept. For processing. Our application date was August 20th 2018.

Congratulations!! Great news. I see that your consulate is Islamabad. Can I ask what did you send in terms of marriage certificate? I got married in Pakistan too and I sent an official English translation of the nikkah nama and the NADRA Marriage Registration Certificate. We didn't send the Urdu nikkah nama cause we thought it might be pointless since it's all in Urdu, but I'm concerned that we might get an RFE for it.

Should I start freaking out because people ahead of me are getting approved? 🤔

I think we sent the official nadra one, the urdu the English translation, not sure will reconfirm with the wife. We front loaded our application alot. Like 100+ pages of stuff. Was pretty heavy when we sent it in.

  7. Am a little confused here.... I'm married to a USC and have applied for our CR1. We met a in Thailand whilst we were both on holiday (pure luck/fate). We knew their was a spark straight away and a few months later went met up in Thailand again and spent around 2 weeks together alone. Anyway fast forward a year and we are married. So according to this it seems the embassy will say that this is not a cultural norm for two unmarried desis to be meeting and holidaying together before being married?? Makes no sense to me. How are u supposed to get to know each other properly without spending time together alone?

  8. As far as I am aware. As I just went through this process in Karachi, Pakistan. The union council no longer issues any certificates for divorce. The only document which is available is the NADRA divorce cert. At the time of the divorce if you husband initiated it he should have sent her a notification of the divorce which is on the affidavit paper (rupee paper). In that it should be mentioned the reason for divorce and the lay out of how the Haq mehr was paid off. The original affidavit should be with your husband and only a copy is sent to the ex wife which she must sign and return. That means she has Recvd the document.

I posted a similar question recently and someone told me the NADRA cert. Is all that is required. Seems confusing.

Why would being a pilot be a problem? I work for an airline and have done almost all my working life. Although I’ve never flown a plane I’ve been on many more planes than the average person and been in parts of the airport that are inaccessible to passengers (secure areas). I wasn’t asked anything about my job when I was interviewed.

There are some jobs that result in extra scrutiny but I can’t imagine a pilot being one - it’s just a bus driver in the air. Unless you were a pilot in an army or militia group that fought against the United States?

Na. Just was doing my Commercial licence training. Anyway thanks for the reply! I guess I was just over thinking it. 😊
