My husband and I completed the DS-156 eform. We then made my MIL the appointment. You have to have a barcode in order to make the appointment. It self populates in the correct field. The cost is no longer $100. It is now $131 and you have to prepay at I believe the Bank of Maroc. Then you take the receipt to the appointment. Simple. The hard part comes after she getss approved (getting her here). She does not speak English.

Does anyone know if they have a chaperone or somebody that could assist her while in New York (through customs and next plane). If this is not possible, my husband would have to go and get her. What are your thoughts VJ.

Being related to you is not a job requirement that you will likely to be able to use to justify getting a work visa. A person does not have to be related to you to provide excellent child care. Furthermore, that limitation would mean anyone with a business could bring their family over and circumvent the family-based immigration laws. Additionally, I have tons of relatives that are related to me that aren't qualify to take care of their own children.

Work based visas are generally granted to engineers, scientists, artists, etc. A nanny is not of of those jobs where you can't get an American to do unless the person has skills that would be relavant; i.e. teach your child French.

Give it a shot. Don't mentioned that being related to you make her more qualified to USCIS because it will look like that is the driving factor in getting her a work visa. I am going to wait until our daughter is old enough to ask for them to get pierced. Little babies are soooo very cute with pierced ears, but I got my god-daughter's ears pierced when she was 12. It was one of her greatest events thus far. My husband and I will wait until she ask for it, so we can make it an event.
