Hi everyone,
Here is how i got my passport back without making a trip to Montreal.
I had already seen my status changed to issued online. I emailed montreal embassy and they sent me the generic email.
I contacted a messenger company in Montreal (the one i used was called messageries speedo though i am pretty sure there are other courier companies as well).
I emailed them the pickup email as well as a signed authorization letter (not notarized though) to pick up my passport on my behalf from the embassy.
Their messenger went out on tuesday and the embassy gave them my passport. they sent it to me same day through UPS and i received it today in Halifax in the afternoon.
This whole process was less than 2 days and cost me a total of 55 dollars.
Hope this helps some of you

I am CR1 and had my interview on 10/30. Visa status says "Issued" but no email yet. How about you?
Mine was October 22 and status changed to issued on the October 23. Still no email. Wrote to the embassy on Wednesday and havent heard anything back.

Has anyone in the IR1/CR1 category received the email to pick up their passport ?
Noticing that it has been applicants in the K1 visa category receiving the email.

Recently had my interview with the same situation. The interviewing officer Did not even look at or consider job offer of the immigrating spouse. Solely focused on whether the US spouse could establish ties to the US or solid evidence to re-establish ties to the US. If anything, upon hearing that the applicant had job offer in the US, she said it seems like your spouse is moving because of the job offer and not because the spouse has genuine interest/intent to move back to the US. Not to scare you, just personal experience at recent interview.

Can you actually have the interview without getting the police certificate first? It appears to me that you need to upload all Civil Documents to CEAC website first otherwise you can't move to the next step. I'm confused.
I had already uploaded the old police certificate before September 10. They accepted that at the interview didnt even mention or ask for the new RCMP certificate.

Had my interview Yesterday. I hadn't received my RCMP certificate in time so i took the receipt for when i applied for it. The police certificate i had submitted was only valid till sep 11 so i had taken out a new police certificate and took the old expired one as well. They only matched my old one to the documents that were submitted. Did not care for the new polcie check or RCMP check for that matter. Just put down a note in their file that new police certificate submitted but old one is still valid. I believe the reason was that the old police certificate had been obtained in the past year and was still valid per their guidelines even though the certificate said it was only valid till Sep 11.

I just put in my passport number and my case number.
I left a blank space for the name field of the person picking up and put in the name of the courier company so the letter was something along the lines of
" my name is ______, my passport number is ______ and my case number is ______
I authorize _________ (that is the field i left blank so the courier company could fill out the name of the person picking up if needed) from messageries speedo to pick up my passport on my behalf if my visa has been issued. If you need any confirmation or clarification please contact me at ______(phone number)"
