Hi all, my husband and I are considering starting the naturilzation/N400 process for him. We've been married since 2018 and he has had his greencard over 5 years at this point.
Currently, we rent a room from my parents and live together with them. I was thinking of filing for the reduced fee for N400 since our only income currently is around 40k. However, I saw under this link ( https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-fees/additional-information-on-filing-a-reduced-fee-request#Requesting:~:text=Determining who counts toward your household size and income "You count someone as part of your household size if that person is:
You;
Your spouse living with you
Your parents;
Side note - my grandfather lives also at the same address as us, but he is in his own separate apartment that is attached to the house. He does not co-mingle in our area of the house/has his own entrance, kitchen, etc.
My husband and I don't share any finances, bank accounts, etc with my parents. We simply rent from them. Is it accurate then, from the link above, that if we were to file for the reduced fee we would need to include them on the paperwork and submit their finance information too?
If we have to include my parents, would we have to include my grandfather too, or does he not count since he has his own unit?
Sorry, this questions is probably really dumb lol but I just wanted to seek clarification. If we have to include all of their paperwork then I doubt we will seek the reduced fee.
