  1. We filed for 751 and then N400 a year later and had a combo interview. So over the past several years we used an expired green card with a 12 month extension letter at first. Then we got an additional 18 months extension letter. Then we had to drive 10 hours to a USCIS center to get a stamp in the passport to travel. Now just weeks away from an oath, we receive a 10 year green card in the mail 🤯
  2. We received a notice of a biometric appointment a few weeks out. I hope this is good news.
  3. Finally. My wife passed the civics exam and was approved today. Now waiting for the oath ceremony.
  4. Applied for an extension in mid April for my mother in law and still haven't heard anything. We requested an additional 6 months and good thing since it'd be problematic if we requested less and she would leave before any response since it's my understanding that would void the request and result in an over stay.
  5. You'll likely get notice soon of the rescheduled date. Do not go.
  6. They rescheduled us and we are so thankful that the interview this time around will be held in Fargo! Sure beats driving to Minneapolis!
  7. We're passed it and it just says something like "it's taking longer than normal." Haven't bothered to call them. Below is the message we got. I'll report back if we give them a call. This is to advise you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to cancel the previously scheduled interview on XXXX at XXXX for the above applicant. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. We will advise you of any further action taken on this case, including any rescheduled interview appointment information, under separate notice
  8. We just had an interview scheduled and then cancelled/de-scheduled the next day. November 2018 for N-400. I-751 was a year prior.
  9. We filed for my wife's I-751 in November of 2017 and the N400 a year after. We finally have an interview coming mid August. On the letter, it does not state that I, as a spouse, am allowed in. I'm guessing this was different before Covid-19.
  10. Still waiting. Not even going to bother with getting another 551 stamp because we have no travel plans. We've already been through 2 yearly stamps, 18 month extension letter, and a 12 month extension letter now.
  11. Please relax everyone. There's value in "tough love" and if it's not what you want to hear, ignore it. Our enemy is USCIS! Not each other 😆
  12. The wording from this link suggests to me that USCIS will be liberal with approving extensions. If "unexpected stays" implies something extreme like hospitalization, it doesn't follow that they'd state most nonimmigrants can mitigate the situation by applying timely for an extension. Open to hearing other people's opinions and interpretations. Generally, nonimmigrants must depart the United States before their authorized period of admission expires. However, we recognize that nonimmigrants may unexpectedly remain in the United States beyond their authorized period of stay due to COVID-19. Should this occur, the following options are available for nonimmigrants: Apply for an Extension. Most nonimmigrants can mitigate the immigration consequences of COVID-19 by timely filing an application for extension of stay (EOS) or change in status (COS). U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services continues to accept and process applications and petitions, and many of our forms are available for online filing.
  13. We've already committed to having her stay past the i94 date though we've got a month before that actually happens. We accept the risk because we believe the situation warrants it. It would be great if they granted this as an exception to the overstay question.
