Good afternoon all:

I'm considering taking a new job at the University of Arkansas. I was hoping some folks could chime in on whether Fayetteville, AR has a strong Fil-Am community.  While the Fil-Am community of our current town of Harrisburg, PA is a mixed bag of supportive people and back-stabbing crazies, my wife over time has met a strong group of Filipinos in our area that have been good friends to her and I. I would hate to move us to Arkansas had have her be the only Asian for miles around.

My wife and I plan on opening a jiujitsu school somewhere in Metro Manila within the next 10 years. Seems that this martial art is growing in the Philippines, and the going rate for gym memberships are more than enough to clear the rent on a small dojo and make a modest income. With SS, 401K, and savings, combined with a bit of steady income, we should be OK.
