  1. Hi guys, so I currently have my 2 year greencard, i'm supposed to be getting my 10 year greencard in 2021 but i'm wondering, I want to change my name to my married name, i'm still currently my maiden name, what would be the best way to go about this. I wanna just have the 10 year in my married name so I don't have to worry about this again! Any help is super appreciated!

Since you missed interview I presume you got a denial and applied again for AOS. It will be a long wait.

    You should get a lawyer.

No denial at all, everything is still actively processing, I never missed the interview they never scheduled. I've been told they're waiting to schedule since October, got told if I hear nothing to call them after 90 days but noones been helpful since then.

If I'd missed the interview that would be a whole different post.

  3. I also got told my case is awaiting interview back in July 2018 and later missed a notice (it never made it to my house and was just returned) and got an email when I enquired that if I dont hear anything within 90 days from my local field office to call the hotline. Called and got told to basically wait until 20 months pass and then I can worry. 90 days was from Nov 2018 and I still have no new info. I should have heard something by Feb. Anyone know what I can do?

Do you know what the letter was about? Usually you case status says what's going on (interview has been scheduled and letter has been sent, RFE has been sent, case is approved etc) Based on that you should be able to know what the letter was about

Ok so the letter was in regards to my I130 but they have refused to resend the notice or tell me exactly what it said. I also got told my case is awaiting interview and if I dont hear anything within 90 days from my local field office to call the hotline. Called and got told to basically wait until 20 months pass and then I can worry. 90 days was from Nov 2018 and I still have no new info. :(

  5. So USCIS had sent me a letter in July which they stated had been returned to them. As soon as I spotted that on my case file I got in touch right away. Eventually got an email back from them in November saying I'm awaiting my Interview and to give them 90 days before I bother them. It's been over the 90 days right now so I'm going to call them today.  I'm just looking for advice as I'm a bit nervous, anyone have any tips on what to ask them. Any help or advice is greatly welcomed.

Ah okay there must have been some confusion on uscis end than.

Most people file under their married name even though their passport is under their maiden name. Including myself. I'm not Sure why they did that  that is something you will have to bring up at your aos interview.

Are you keeping copies of everything you send? It's really good to at this point it will help you in the future

Actually I haven't got a copy of the actual forms which is my own fault I have copies of our evidence of relationship but I was very nervous filing everything because I wanted it to be right and because of the company I work for i don't have a lot of money so to copy the packet was too much.

I've read it's really tough getting AP (or EAD) before your biometrics appointment.

Better to schedule an infopass appointment at your local office to discuss your options.

I'm aiming to do it after the biometrics next week but he has a month maybe at most so I'm trying my hardest to get home and see him, I'm just wondering what kind of evidence to gather and stuff and how to do it but I will call and try schedule an appt!

  8. Hey guys I just need a little help... my dad has motor neurons and he's gone very downhill very fast he has a small few weeks left and he wants to see me before the inevitable happens. His nurse is willing to write me a letter stating what is wrong and have it signed by his doctors but what other documentation would I need to provide to try help my case to make it home to see him?

  9. Hi I'm currently in the process of trying to put together my aos packets. I'm sure like everyone else here I'm just as confused about trying to get this all done. I'm going from a H2B visa to adjusting my status... I'm just wondering is there anything specific I need. We also dont have a lot of stuff together we only just got our family phone plan and our joint bank account but we do have affadavits of support. Ive also got a copy of his birthcert so will I need his drivers licence too? Also it's a silly question but my dad is terminally ill so I'm wondering how long will it take to get travel authorization back, do I need to do a medical with all this or does that come later and also any tips on filing everything concurrently.

Thank you so much to anyone who helps...this all has me so flustered.

  10. So guys, I've been in a long distance relationship with my husband for 3 years now and we got married last week. It was very spur of the moment. We had planned on it back in June but stuff came up (my dad being diagnosed with motor neuron and myself passing interviews to work in the us). I'm currently in Florida working in a country club and he's  been stationed in Kansas for over a year (he's an MP and his superiors are well aware of me) I'm wondering what do we need to do to  actually get to live together. He's going home Wednesday and I'm dreading it.

I plan to adjust  status but I want some help with what I need to do. I have more than enough evidence that we're actually  together. We set up our joint bank account and family plan phones the other day. I'm sorry if I've rambled  it's just hard wrapping my head around all of this. Thank you guys in advance for any help.

(Also my dad is helping us pay for filing our papers... best dad)
