5 hours ago, John & Rose said:The dates on VJ represent users here. It requires them to manually update their timelines. Many people start here, add the timeline then never come back. Also, VJ is approximately 8% of all filers. So a small sample of the overall picture.
On top of that, USCIS does not always update online. Many people find out they are approved when they receive the approval letter in the mail. People who already have their NVC # are still at "received" on USCIS's site.
It is not easy to find any logic in what is going on. All we can say is that you will be approved eventually.
Sometime in February you should see something. I hope it is sooner rather than later.
thank you for information

Our k-1 visa application was accepted on 7-20. I expect that it will be approved in the next month or two, at which time it will be forwarded to the embassy where we will interview. Originally that would have been Havana, but they are no longer doing interviews. I read that immigrant visas will be forwarded to Colombia for interviews, but ours is a non immigrant visa. I also read that no visas will be transferred to another embassy, you will need to reapply. The website said Cubans are welcome to interview at any embassy around the world, but Cubans are not allowed to travel to most countries, so how is this possible? I need to begin making plans for travel, but do not know what country we will be allowed to interview in.
My question is this- since our application has not yet been approved or sent to Havana, will they instead send it to another country where Cubans are allowed to travel and interview at? Or will they make me reapply even though the application is still in the US?
he will need to go to colombia also you need to have 2000.00 in bank they need last 6 statement with that amount room reserve and flight to apply for colombian visa

It may be close! I'm June 6 so today is 160 days. I still think there will be another week before they get to me. With a short week next week I can be very late November or early December (I really hope not!). Things are moving but not as quickly as any of us wish it was. Thanksgiving is my day 170 so if it goes that late I won't see NOA2 until day 174 or November 27. I sure hope that the numbers look good today but since the app is down we are all in a fog right now.
I just noticed that your day 160 is Christmas! I hope that you get it quicker than that!
me too good luck to everyone

No. It means that you were received in Fiscal Year 2018. I thought the USCIS FY starts Nov 1. Maybe it is Oct 1. Either way, the wait is 5 to 6 months. March 30 is 5 months so yes, they will not get to your petition until next year.
so i guess mine falls this year cause it begins with 17 ??? hoping

when they issue you noa1 it says what year it falls mine says 17 is that true
