Yes, I have several originals of my marriage cert. However, they might ask for that particular MC mailed to USCIS. Each MC has different barcodes. I'm afraid they might ask for that particular MC with that certain barcode even if the ones I have are also original.

Hi! Will the Embassy ask for the exact original documents mailed to USCIS for I-130? Or shall they only ask for the originals uploaded oN CEAC?
I'm afraid i already lost the exact original of our marriage certificate that we mailed to USCIS. I have several originals of our MC, so I thought that's fine since it's an original document anyway. Apparently, a consul asked for the exact original uploaded. From what I've read from a recent interviewee, she was asked for the exact original of the MC uploaded on CEAC. She initially presented exact originals of the docs she mailed to USCIS plus a different version of MC, which was different from what she uploaded on CEAC and mailed to USCIS. The consul asked if she brought the MC with a particular barcode at the bottom of the paper, referring to the one uploaded. Luckily, she also brought that one, which she uploaded and mailed to USCIS.
Now, Im not sure if the consul would ask for the exact originals of the documents mailed to USCIS. Or the exact originals of the documents uploaded on CEAC would be fine.

Congrats!
What were the questions asked?

Hi! May I know if they asked for it when you left for the US? Thanks!

Our baby is dual citizen. She already has her US passport via CRBA and will get PH passport soon. When we go to the US, what are the requirements needed and fees at the airport? What passport does she have to use to avoid fines? Does she need to get exit clearance? Thank you in advance
-
Hi! We plan to file for CRBA and passport for our baby soon. When scheduling an appointment for CRBA, we need to mail in the required documents, along with DS-11 passport application form, since we would like to apply at the same time too.
My question is, do I also need to mail different set of required documents for the passport application? Or do I just submit the DS-11 form along with the crba requirements?
And during the actual CRBA appointment, do I need to bring two sets of requirements for crba and passport?
Based from what I read from people's experiences, they dont mention bringing another set of requirements for the passport, aside from the ds-11 form. I'm confused.
Thanks in advance.

Hi! I read that some vaccines require several doses and the accredited hospital will only give one dose during the exam to sign the form.
By the way, i’m the beneficiary from the Philippines and we are just about to submit our CR1 application and I would just like to prepare and see the possibilities.
I no longer have records of my previous vaccinations. I also don’t know which i already had. I’m going to ask my doctor if it’s possible to know which one I already had.
If ever I already know which vaccines I still need to get, is it okay to get some of the required vaccines before the medical exams? Just so I wont have the remaining doses in the US, where I think would be more expensive there.
Also, let’s say I didnt get some vaccines before the exams and I would need to have all those required vaccines, will St Lukes Hospital administer it to me all in one day?

I have another question which is not related. Im also not sure if it’s allowed to ask at the same post but let me try. 😁
What shall we answer here in i-130 form?
The beneficiary will not apply for adjustment of status in the United States, but he or she will apply for an immigrant visa abroad at the US Embassy or US Consulate in:
a. City/town
b. Province
c. Country
Does it refere to where the interview will be held, which is Manila, philippines? Or Does this refer to DCF filers only?
Also, there’s no required paper size in printing the forms, right?
Thank you! 😁😄😄

Totally fine to say self-employed .... honestly, doesn't really matter. The DS-160 is aimed at non-immigrant visas. Whereas the K-1 is a different critter ..
I see. We’re filing for CR-1 by the way.

I would write self-employed for your freelance job as that is what it is
So, as an example, shall I write it this way?
Employment 1
employer name: Xx Hospital
Adress: manila philippines
Period: april 1,2016 to present
Occupation: Nurse
Employment 2
employer name: Self-employed
adress: our home address
period: april 5, 2011 to present
occupation: freelance writer
i wonder if ‘self-employed’ is okay to use if i also have another job where i am a regular employee.
Thanks Hank for always answering!

Hi! Im the beneficiary.

Hi! I have a regular job and also a freelancing job as a writer.
In the Employer name, do I put ‘NA’ for my freelance job or do i write self-employed for my freeance writer job?
Can I say ‘self-employed’ even if i have a regular job?
Thanks in advance!

Now I’m more confused. Lol.
Thanks for your comments, i appreciate it.
I may sign usig my married name, however, i’m also just worried that the embassy and offices involved might question the inconsistency in my documets bearing my married name with my maiden signature versus the forms i have yet to sign with my married sinature.

Doesnt matter if the Philippines requires the OP to change her surname, the US does not.
Op if you use your married surname you should sign with it.
My signature certainly hasnt been legible in years. Lol
Im kinda confused.
US doesnt require changing surname but i need to sign using my married surname if I use my married name?
Do you think it will matter if I pass docs with my married name and maiden signature and then sign with a new one bearing my married name?
Thanks!

Couple more comments. If you have not started CRBA yet, then yes you would use your married name and married signature.
Visa application should be in your married name; And for sure your passport needs to be renewed in your married name.
Yes, I havent started CRBA and visa yet.
The documents we’ll pass such as our marriage cert and baby’s birth cert all carry my married name but with my maiden signature. I dont know if i made sense. Lol.
So, when we pass those and if I sign using my married name (in the signature), i might be questioned for inconsistencies with those documents and the forms I have yet to sign in my visa and Crba applications.

Thank you for your comments
Yes, I’m thinking of changing my signature reflectinf my husband’s surname.
However, it will be inconsistent with my documents where i already carry my married name but with my maiden signature.
So, I dont know if I should just retain my maiden signature to be consistent or will that matter in my visa and CRBA applications.
I also think that some signatures are actually non-readable and just looks like scribble.

Hi! We’re filing CR-1 this November and I have few questions.
Do i need to change my signature to a new one reflecting my married name?
Our marriage certificate, my driver’s license and the birth certificate of our daughter have my maiden signature.
I wonder if this will affect our visa application and CRBA for our daughter if i still use my maiden signature.
If I change it, they might question inconsistency regarding signatures in the said documents.
Also, do i need to sign the i-130a even if im outside the US?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks Greenbaum
and Hank!
If I understood it correctly, my husband doesnt need to file a separate i-130 petition for our baby since it’s gonna be CRBA for our baby. Thanks!

Hi! May i know if some documents, such as copy of naturalization certificate, copy of unexpired passport, etc., needs to be notarized?
Also, my american husband is filing i-130 for me and we have a 3-month old baby. Does he still need to include our baby in the petition since we’re gonna file for CRBA for her anyway?
Thanks in advance!
-
We’re in the process of having it corrected. I hope it will be done by October. If not, we might consider filing even with that glitch.
-
Hello! I’m just wondering if an error in marriage certificate might cause an RFE or petition to be denied. Married name of mothers were mistakenly put instead of maiden name. We’ll have it corrected but it takes months. I’m wondering if we can just submit it as is so we can file soonest or wait for the correction before filing.

My sister was my co-sponsor for the K1 visa since I had no income for how many years (fresh grad). Last week my fiance had her interview at USEM and the CO never asked us for the affidavit of support, but before we were called to the window I heard another CO asking to see the I-134. I'm guessing it really depends on the CO. Just be prepared even though a lot of people have not been asked for the evidence of support.
Oh, great. I'm hoping that would be the case for us too and get approved. Thanks for the info! Yeah, we'll just prepare affidavit just in case I get asked to present it.

Oh thanks for the prompt replies!
Yes, I would disclose it to avoid being questioned in the future.
Thanks again to everyone.

Hi! For the How You Met part, can we mention that we met thru a free dating website and name it specifically? Some say don't mention because it might get an RFE, while some say to disclose it. I would like to mention it to establish how we became a couple.
Thanks in advance!
Will Embassy ask for the exact original of the documents?
in Philippines
