  1. Hi everyone!

My 10-year green was sent to some random address in Oakland CA. I don't live there and I've never been there.

I tried to call uscis customer service line, but some automated bot kept telling me to check usps status if I have not received the card in 30 days. It was impossible to talk to a real human. If anyone has tips on how to get to talk to a human agent at the customer service line, please let me know.

Has this happened to anyone else?

    Thanks!

Hi Anny, how was your visa application? We are currently waiting for our NOA2 as well. So we can get the HK police certificate. How long did you take yours?

    Thank you,

    May & Mickey

Hi May & Mickey, I applied for the HK police certificate in person at the HK police headquarters, after I got my P3 letter. They will give you a receipt, which you can bring to your interview. Then HK police will send it to the US Consulate in a month. In my case, I applied for it on June 15, and the US Consulate (Guangzhou) received it on July 17th (according to their reply to my email enquiry).

Btw, a small tip: you may email or call the HK police, like three weeks after your application, to get the tracking number of the registered mail. Good luck!

Hi that's what we did but we put the dates in. Did you put the dates in? This is what the example in Visajorney. I would be disappointed if it's wrong.

Actually, after I looked at the form some more, I realized that it is not a problem that you leave your first physical address (9.a. - 9.h.) blank. But you still need to fill in the date (10.a. - 10.b.). In the previous "Your Mailing Address" Section, it clearly says, if your answer to "Is your current mailing address is the same as your physical address" is "No", provide the address in number 9.a. - 9.h. By implication, is your answer is "yes", you can only leave the 9.a - 9.h. blank. Therefore, yes, I think you should be fine.

Another possible issue I think is that, we did not provide the full residential and employment history for the past five years. We did not read the instructions carefully enough to go as far back as five years ago.

I found out why they probably did this. Go back to your application form. Did you provide a mailing address? how about the physical address? I remember them stating to provide the physical address if it is different than the mailing address. I left the physical address part blank because my physical address is the same as my mailing address. Now they are wanting to know my physical address for the last 5 years, for both me and my fiance. Its not entirely your fault. The way they worded the application form made it seem like you can skip the physical address part if it is the same as the mailing. But i think they still want you to fill that part out. Thus the RFE

    Hi there!

I think you might be right. My fiance and I got the exact same REF yesterday, and we were so confused about what they want from us. After reading your post, I checked a copy of our I-129F form and found out that we did leave the "Physical Address 1" section blank, because we thought that was what we were supposed to do if the mailing address is the same as the current physical address...

Now, not only we need to fill in the address history for the past five years, but also we need to provide evidence!!! A task that requires so much time and efforts, and the visa process is delayed...

    Result? Denied

First China is a high fraud country and second with the k1 you are saying you intend to live in usa, so they will denied because once at usa they will think you wont come back to your country, they will think you will get marry and adjuste status

I did not know that China is a high-fraud country, but thanks for your reply! :D

    Hi!

you can apply. However because k1 is a visa with immigration purposes, and b2 is all about saying I'm not immigrating. It may be a little hard to get.

you can still try and show as many ties to your country as you can.

are you working in a stable job.

do you have a lease in your country

do you have other ties such as kids

these are the type of questions you should ask yourself. Depending on how many of these and more you can provide your chances may go up.

Thanks Naes for your detailed answer :-)! I discussed with my fiancee and we decided that it is not a good idea to apply. He will be visiting me once he get vacation instead of me visiting him.

Many thanks and hope your application is going well!

  7. Hello everyone,

I'm from China and my US fiancee has filed for the I-129F petition for me. We received NOA1 on September 25, 2017. We are currently waiting for further notice from USCIS. I wonder whether I will be able to apply for a B2 tourist visa while waiting for our NOA2.

I want to know what things I should be mindful of while applying for a B2 visa and how much chance I stand in obtaining a B2 visa. Thanks in advance!
