I sure hope I'm as lucky as you.... did your spouse have to go with you to your interview? My husband travels a lot, so I'm not sure if he will make the interview when the time comes, but I'm also only filing for the N400, although it is based on the 3yr marriage condition.

Good luck on yours. My husband went with me but officer never even asked about him. The officer only told me that he will not give me an approval yet on my n400 because he haven't reviewed my i751 that time. He then said that he there will be no problem on my I751 I would get an update/approval on my n400 which I did. For my i751 never heard of it anymore not even an update online.

I had my appointment today at 10am and it went very well. Lasted about 30 minutes and my status is now in line for oath ceremony. I had a pending I 751 too (removal of conditions) My spouse had to travel for work and wasn’t with me but that wasn’t an issue. They asked the usual citizenship questions and after completing that they asked for proof of bonafide marriage (taxes, insurance, mortgage, bank etc ). They told me that I was approved and should hear from them about a date in a few weeks. My status changed online immediately to in line for oath. Glad to be almost done with the process.

    Congratulations!

Hi there! New poster here. Anyone know if the Denver office is still 12 months out on applications? My estimated processing time on my online profile is 17 months. I filed on July 9th, 2018, this means I might have to wait until November 2019! Has the processing time picked up at the Denver office? Any help is appreciated!

I don't think those are accurate. Mine before says 12 months as well but I was naturalized less than 5 months from the date of submission.

Hello everyone, I just wanted to share my interview experience!

I had a pending I-751 (ROC) filed July 2016 and N-400 filed (under 3 year rule) July 2017.

My interview was at the Centennial, CO office today at 7:30 am.

We got to the office and they didn't let my wife up since she had our son's food in her bag. So she had to go back to the car to feed him.

    - Once I got up to the room, they called me right away (at about 7:10) and I walked up to the officer and she asked if I brought my spouse with me. I said yes, but she's in the car feeding our son. She was very understanding and said she'd come back out in 10 mins to check on me.

    - She came back out (once my wife was back with me) and called for me. She explained to us that she will need to do a I-751 interview (even thought we never got a notice) with both of us and then she will escort my wife and son out while she finishes my N-400 interview.

    - Once she swore us in, she started asking some basic questions like how we met, where we lived, why we moved etc. She asked for docs for our son's birth certificate, tax returns etc. Once all that was done, she said my wife was good to leave, so she escorted us both out and just me back in.

    - She swore me in again and started going through the N-400 application.

    - She started at the name, DOB etc. and once all the ID info was completed, she switched to the English test. This was to read and write "The President lives in the white house." After this she re-asked some questions about our marriage/life together. Once that was done, she proceeded to the Civis test.

    - Here were her questions:
      - What is one responsibility of a US Citizen?
      - How many senators are in the US?
      - What are the two branches of congress?
      - Who is your Governor?
      - Who was the first president?
      - What movement ended racial discrimination?

    - Since I answered all 6 correctly, she didn't ask anymore and said I passed it.

    - She then proceeded to ask all the Yes/No questions. I had missed out a couple of check boxes in my original application, but she didn't say anything about it and updated it all.

    - She asked about citations and I asked her if traffic tickets counted, she said yes and asked me details. I told her I only remembered one for speeding from last year for about $100, but said there might be more that I don't remember. She said that was okay and as long as there were no misdemeanors, there wasn't an issue.

    - She also asked me about my involvement in groups (church membership/non-profit) and asked me a couple of details.

    - Once all that was done, she asked me to read and sign the application.

    - She then told me that my petition was approved! She said she would do her best to get me an oath within a couple of weeks or so. She did say that they've been scheduling them pretty quickly and that I should see an email from them as well about the oath since mail takes a while sometime.

    - She handed me the final approval sheet, I thanked her and she walked me out.

Thank you to this community for all the help and encouragement through this process! Would be a lonely journey without you guys. If you are still waiting....don't lose and hang in there. Your time will come and it will be a great day! If anyone has any questions about my experience, feel free to reply or message me and I'd love to help!

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!

SAD to be a paper filer. All this wait time for us paper filers to see no improvements. Looking on this chart and knowing almost all the online filers have received their interview dates and most of them are already USC. It saddens my heart to be a paper filer. been over a 150 days since one was placed in line for an interview and no update yet online filers are getting their interview letters less than 100 days been in line. ####### is going with this people. just tired of waiting ..never will i advice anyone to file through paper.. just waste of time

It could be your local office too. Maybe they’re just busy. I paper filed mine end of October 2017 and became a USC in March 20 2017. Where is your local office?

  10. Updating - Got my Naturalization Certificate today.

    Hi All,

I have been following visajourney for long time, ever since I started my permanent resident journey, but never posted anything in here.

During my citizenship journey, what I noticed is that only a few Denver applicants were posting in this forum, and it was hard when I was looking for people and their experiences.

Here is more or less my timeline:

    Application sent:                                         Sometime April 2017

    FP done:                                                       5/19/2017

Status changed to inline for interview:    5/26/2017

    Notification of interview scheduled:         2/26/2018

    Interview letter received:                             3/3/ 2018

    Interview & Oath:                                          4/3/2018

Yesterday I finished my journey and became American, so I wanted to share my experience with all of you to see if it helps a little to those of you still waiting.

I had my interview at the Centennial office yesterday at 9:50 AM. I arrived 30 minutes early and went through security check (similar to airports, including shoes and belt off). I was directed to the second floor, where I sat until my IO called me, at almost exactly 9:50 AM.

The interview started with the civics test. I was asked 6 questions that I responded correctly:

1 - Who is the Governor of Colorado now

2 - One promise you do when you become US Citizen.

3 - Who is the father of our country

4 - What movement tried to end racial discrimination

5 - Where is the Statue of Liberty

    6 - Name 2 National US Holidays.

The English test consisted only to read one sentence: "The president lives in the White House" and write the same sentence.

After that the IO started reviewing my application, asking again all the yes/no questions and making some notes in red pen.

At the end she read to me some of the changes she made to my application, like trips outside the US, and she said that I pass the test, gave me a form indicating that I was approved and another form to bring to the ceremony which took place in the afternoon in the same building.

I brought with me copies of almost everything, but I was only asked for passport, Green Card, and State photo ID.

In total, the interview took about 20 minutes. The IO was formal, professional, but cordial at the same time.

The ceremony was good and fun, with 50 new citizens from 22 different countries.

Now it is over and I can proudly say that I am American.

Good luck to all of you still waiting, fellow Denver applicants.

    Congratulations!!! So happy for you.

    Jebee,

Thank you for your quick response. So, it just took you 5 months to get your citizenship. I heard that it usually takes longer in Denver.

    You are very welcome.

That's what I've heard. There are some that are still waiting for their interview since May and June.  I think I was lucky. Lol.

By the way, my n400 never went in line for interview. It went straight to interview scheduled.

This may be out of the topic, but can I ask... Can I apply for citizenship when my I 751 is still in process? Will it slow down th I-751 and N-400 processing time? Thank you.

Yes, you can. I filed mine 90 days before the 3 year anniversary of being a Permanent Residence.

Will it slow down the ROC process? - I am now sure. All I know was my ROC(i751) was being transferred to my local office as soon they found out that I applied for n400. Check my timeline for n400 below. Thanks.

Did you have any problem getting your American Passport? Also, did they approve the Green Card as per the update?

I went to my Local Post Office to apply my passport and pay extra for expedited process in 02/21/2018 without any problem. The lady at post office took my Original & Copy of naturalization Certificate, Copy of my driver's license and the Passport application form and the pay. And last night I got an email that they mailed my Passport and I should receive it on or before 03/31/2018.

As for my green Card; I really don't know because the status hasn't changed at all. I remember the officer told me right after my interview that if they needed something from me or need to conduct an interview for my ROC I should receive an interview. If not,  you will receive an Oath Ceremony Letter.

I got my conditional green card in 2015 via my wife. Then I applied for permanent green card on Nov. 2016.  However, after the biometrics, I have not heard anything back since then, so I applied for naturalization on Nov. 2017. Here is my question, will I get a combied interview? Or I will get my green card, then I will have an interview for my naturalization?

I also checked my I 751 and N 400 online, and it shows

On February 26, 2018, we received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number WACXXXXXXX, at your local office. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

As of December 22, 2017, we are actively reviewing your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number IOEXXXXXXXXXX. Our records show nothing is outstanding at this time. We will let you know if we need anything from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

    Thanks

I got my conditional GC in January 21, 2018. And then I applied for Removal of condition on 10/31/2016. Never heard about my ROC for like almost a year so on October 23rd 2017 I wend ahead and apply for my  Citizenship.

    - I never get an interview for my ROC when I went to my citizenship interview but my husband went with me even though we didn't received an interview for ROC just incase we get one.

    - I passed the interview but the officer did not approved me because he has to review my ROC application first. And then 6 days later after my interview I got an email and my status online updated that I was approved and they placed me in line for an Oath. 10 days later I got an update again to attend my Oath. And that was it, I am now a Proud US citizen and never heard about my ROC nor received my 10 year GC.

Good luck on your journey and I hope you will get your interview very soon.
