Appreciate your reply, thank you
I thought this was an obstacle for international travel and returning home
the airline and the booking agent told us this was a problem
that was my concern

I hope someone can help with this issue
My wife is a green card holder with her SS card and drivers license all in her married name.
coming up on her 2 year green card renewal. Base on K1 visa.
Her Chinese passport, Chinese ID card, Chinese drivers license, medical insurance, retirement account and her house in China remain in her maiden name.and we don’t see anyway to change these.
she recently returned home to visit her family and while there she discovered that changing her name on her Chinese documents was a big problem.
In China it is customary for the wife to keep her maiden name after marriage
the problem is traveling with her Chinese passport in her maiden name and US identification documents in her married name.
the path of least resistance appears to be changing her US documents back to her maiden name because in China changing her passport appears to be impossible.
this would be her green card, drivers license, SS card .
airlines won’t sell you a ticket or allow you to board an international flight if you passport and ID documents dont have matching names.
so her Airline tickets are booked in her maiden name and she uses her Chinese ID when traveling.
this is a rather uncomfortable situation because we like to travel abroad.
how do we sort out this issue ?
thanks for any help offered
