Hi , 

    I had my oath ceremony on Friday at 500 peal street , got there around 9:45 , I was in the first line of the Jury room by 10 , my wife and kids took seats and waited for me to get checked in , first line checks your documents and takes your green card , you are then directed to a second line where they check your info and give you a new citizen packet , to go through both lines took 45 minutes , after the second line i was asked if i wanted to go to the cafeteria on the 8th floor but be back in the room by 11am , i declined and waited for the ceremony to begin , there was 162 people from 51 countries and 11 no shows , the judge gave a nice speech with some political undertones , all in all it was a nice experience , we were walking out by 12:30 ish .. 

Hi , does anyone have any insight into how may guests you can bring to the oath ceremony at 500 pearl street ? , I plan on making a day of it and bringing the wife and 3 kids ( kids are 17 , 14 and 11 years old ) , my ceremony is next friday june 15th . Thanks in advance .

Hi , 

    I had my interview today , time was 10:40 , I arrived at 10 and was in room 700 by 10:10 , my number didn’t get called until 1:10 , I went in and was interviewed by a nice professional who was all business , after swearing to tell the truth she asked for my green card , state id and passport , went over my application and added notes , took the reading and writing test , read “who is on the dollar bill” wrote George Washington is on the dollar bill , 6 questions , 1 longest river 2 when was the Declaration of Independence signed 3 what is the financial system in the US 4 who is the speaker of the house 5 what are the first 10 amendments to the constitution called and 6 who can vote . 

She didn’t ask for any additional documents and I brought a lot , totoal interview was about 15 mins , she said I was approved and handed me a letter saying that , then she said the oath letter should be in 1-3 months , I asked if there is any way I could wait for it or get a more accurate time frame and she said no . 

Now the next waiting period begins .. 

Hi there , just out of interest I checked the NYC n400 processing times just now , as of September 30 it’s processing applications from January 13 2017 , I’m pretty sure as of August 31 it was processing applications from January 27 2017 , so a month later they are further behind . That makes no sense at all .

I filed paper application in August ,had bios 9/21 , in line for interview since 9/25 . Also NYC field office .

That’s what I would consider an unusually long wait , but like they said it’s still within the given time frame hence they won’t address it.

Nope it just depends on the priority date of your application and how busy your local field office is. If you did a normal paper filing, expect the interview letter between 4 to 5 month from the date of filing the N400 if everything goes smooth.

That’s about the time I was expecting , a coworker did hers and it took about 4 months to get an interview date .

I didn’t know if how long I’ve held LPR would have a bearing on my application , I guess only time will tell , I did request a new online access code via the case check in screen , thanks for the reply .

Every time I log into the website to check my case status, the system will send a one time access code to both my registered email and phone number. That's how it works for an online filer I believe.

Hi there , how did you get the “online access code” to track your application ? My application was mailed in and the only letters I have received are receipt of application and finger print notice neither of which had any “online access code” .

I’ve been waiting just over 2 months , my online status is “inline for interview” I bet I won’t see an interview letter till next year .
