I think it is standard to receive the certificate at the Oath ceremony... which is the whole point of the ceremony. I don't think there is any delay, they have printed for you, have you say the oath and literally "kick" you out of the facility 🙂 (Covid has made the whole thing a lot less festive unfortunately).
For the passport application, yes you need to give the original + a copy (ideally black and white, so they don;'t send the copy back by mistake). I chose the expedited process, and the agent told me it would take 3 weeks until it shows in the system. FYI, it only took 4 days to show up on the state.gov website progress status. There it says "within 6 weeks", so we shall see... people I know have gotten theirs in less than a month, so fingers crossed!
Where are you in the process? Have you received the letter for the interview? There's a chance you might have the oath (and the certificate) on the same day.
My wife has her N400 interview on 10/18. She also has a pending I-751 that has been waiting for an interview since July 2020.
Hopefully she gets her oath and naturalization certificate by end of October. Then we will apply for her passport right away because we are traveling in middle of January.
If all goes well it gives us 1 montb to get her visa before our flight...everything is on the edge as I am not sure how things will go with passport processing time. Definitely paying to have it expediteated.
Please let me know how much your time takes.

You need to submit the original to apply for a passport. Good news is that you only need to send the expired passport to nenew. Your passport becomes proof of both identity and citizenship. In theory, you wont need your certificate ever again.
In my case, I got my certificate right then and there after my oath.
Planning on traveling in the middle of January.
Not sure what the passport processing time is after mailing everything in for a new naturalization citizen. Then have to get a visa from a foreign country.

in our case:- Status on eGov changed JULY 8th, the pdf letter was on myUSCIS almost immediately
- Letter arrived in the mail about 4 days later, I think I got it on July 12th
- Both interviews set same day/time, AUG 6th, so a bit less than a month between letter and actual interview
- ITW Aug 6th
- Approval AUG 25th
- Oath scheduled and letter received a week later
- Oath Sept 13th (so 10 days between letter and ceremony)
- Applied for passport Sept 17th
Keep in mind that passport appointments might sometimes take a few weeks due to backlog, so I booked something in advance (but had to reschedule once oath ceremony was confirmed)
I hear some offices give you the naturalization cert at the oath ceremony and some mail it afterwards.
BTW did you send your original naturalization certificate for the passport documents? Any idea how long it takes for the passport to arrive?

Question:
1. When you received your interview letter how far apart was the interview date?
2. After successful interview how long did it take to get your naturalization certificate to apply for U.S. Passport?

Hi!
We have a pending I-751 since November 2019 and have been waiting for a interview since July 2020. We then filed N400 in April 2021 and are waiting as well.
My wife has a I-551 stamp in her passport with a expired green card and we will be traveling to india in February.
Question: When we are in India and a interview letter is sent do we have any options to reschedule the interview? Is this normal? Abnormal?
Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Guys!
Is anyone from 2019 still waiting or is my case the odd one?
Filed I-751 in November 2019. Been waiting for interview since July 2020. Case status updated to show "ready for interview as of July 2021" #######?
Filed N 400 in March 2021.
Any feedback/suggestions appreciated as I will be traveling in FEB 2022. Already have 1 extension InfoPass stamp on the passport.
Thanks!

Filed in November 2019. Waiting for interview to be scheduled since June 2020.
No update and when I call USCIS just instructed to wait. Will file N400 at end of February.
Anyone else in similar position?

Just curious: Does any have MSC as their service center? Or heard about it
There is very limited info on its processing times and cases even on the USCIS website.
It's not listed as a processing center for I-741 on the website.
Thanks!

Hi Everybody!!
I am seriously getting worried my case is lost somewhere.
I filled for my wife to remove conditions on her GC. We filed in November 2019 and her biometrics were in Feb 2020.
In June 2020 our stays changed to "waiting to schedule interview" and we have been waiting since with no update at all. I keep calling USCIS and they keep telling me to wait.
Our service center is MSC which is different from most filers. I am aware we can file N400 right now.
What should I do? Her GC expires in June 2021.
Really appreciate any help! Thanks!

Good Morning Everyone!
New to this forum so hoping you guys can help me set up my VAC center appt. for my wife.
1. Stupid question: When I logged into ustraveldocs.com it asks on step 3 to either select "All Immigrant or Diversity Visas" or "K Visas" I believe we applied for a CR1 visa as we got married in 11/2016 (married less than 2 years) and I applied for her when I got back to California.
2. When I was updating her information like passport and phone numbers it asks about the mailing address. Should I fill in her physical address (mailing) or bluedart address where we want the passport returned?
Thanks! Any feedback is appreciated. I know I am over thinking lot this.
