  1. Quick question guys. I am a young actor from Jamaica who landed a lead role in a movie that was film in California and Jamaica last year. I traveled to the US twice since the filming. My i 130 have now been approved and the producer  is telling me that I have to travel to the US again this week for matters relating to the film. I have an 02 visa ( alien with extraordinary ability in the area of film and athletics). When I’m traveling this week, Will it be a problem seeing that my i130 have now been approved?

Are people who are getting approved and/or RFE's entering these into their VJ timelines? VJ processing time for Nebraska is still showing February 20th, but there are  plenty of March filers who have received case updates/approvals/& etc.  They are now projecting our approval time after January 1st.  Our PD is March 24th, Nebraska.

You should receive something  before that time because my PD is March 6 and I got approved yesterday no email no update. So just check that mailbox. Believe me when it comes you’ll be so happy

So it doesn't matter that it hasn't been approved before you turned 21? I didn't know that.

We can't plan a damn thing in this process and the living in limbo is emotionally, physically, mentally and financially taxing.  :( Now I'm just hoping I make it before next summer, but l'm doubting that will be the case.

I’m protected by the CSPA. My age freezes on the date my i130 was submitted and he’s a US citizen. As long as my i130 form was submitted before my 21st birthday I’ll be classified as an immediate relative and won’t have to wait for years. If I’m correct I won’t get approved until January or February. Then NVC will probably take another 4 months. Let’s hope that’s the case

Almost at the 9-month mark. Every time I feel like Nebraska is going forward, they prove me wrong.

I expected them to regain some speed after clearing the November backlog, but yeah no, wishful thinking.

I need to take my mind off of things and thankfully I have enough going on the next couple of months.

I’m a child of a USC therefore I’m IR2. My Pd date is March 6. I’m 21 years old now but my i130 form was submitted before I was 21 so I can’t age out. this waiting thing is taking a toll on me because I’m about to finish university this school year. I was hoping that I’d be able to persue a masters program in the US by next year September but the way how Nebraska is going I don’t even know if I’ll be ready to migrate by next year summer to be very honest!! I’m tired of this

If your father is a citizen then your age freezes on the date of filing and you will not age out. If your father is an LPR then when a visa becomes available they will calculate your CSPA age to determine if you can get a visa in the same category.

Yea he has been a naturalized citizen since 2008. So I guess I should be fine ☺️☺️☺️

  6. My father started filing for me this year. My PD date is March 6,2017. I’m worried now because I’ve turn 21 and by the looks of Nebraska service service center it seems as if I’ll be 22 by the whole process is finished. I’m waiting patiently for my approval to continue the process. My worry is that my birthday is March 29. Although my PD is March 6,2017,  It was a few days before my 21st birthday and by reading more about this it states that once my father filed the I 130 form before I’m 21 I’d be considered as a minor and it will still take couple months.

Should I be worried about receiving my approval letter?
